Abstract

The integration of Islamic values in biology learning in madrasahs is important to develop scientific understanding while also shaping students’ religious character. However, its implementation still faces various challenges. This study aims to analyze the problems experienced by teachers in integrating Islamic values into biology learning at Madrasah Aliyah in Payakumbuh City and Lima Puluh Kota Regency. This research used a descriptive approach with a survey method. The research subjects were biology teachers at Madrasah Aliyah in the area. Data were collected through questionnaires and interviews and then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the main obstacles include teachers’ lack of understanding of the concept of integrating Islam and biology, teachers’ educational background which is predominantly in the field of science, limited integrated learning resources, and the lack of training related to integrative learning. These conditions cause the integration of Islamic values in biology learning to not yet be implemented systematically. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve teachers’ competencies through training, the provision of integrated teaching materials, and support from madrasah policies.

Abstract

Validity is the extent to which a test can reliably measure the intended construct. This research aims to describing critical thinking skills test instruments on virus material. The data collection technique used is descriptive statistical analysis. Data analysis used the Gregory test content validation technique. The validation results in Table 1 show that the total score of validator 1 is 50 and the score of validator 2 is 54. With a total score of 52. So the average score of validator 1 is 3.33 and validator 2 is 3.6. The Knowledge, Language and Construct Aspects in the expert validity questionnaire show that the 50 items as a whole are categorized as quite relevant with an average score of 3.46. It can be concluded that the item instrument on virus material has very high validity based on the Gregory Test with a score of 0.8 – 1 = Very high validity.Keywords:  Validity, Critical Thinking, Virus, Descriptive.

Abstract

This research is based on several articles published in articles found on Google Scholar throughout Indonesia from 2016 to 2023. Variables were analyzed using the descriptive method of systematic literature review by collecting data from written sources such as books, journals and sources related to improving communication skills using discovery, problem-based, and project-based learning models. The research objective of this literature study is to see whether there is an increase in students' communication skills regarding discovery, problem-based and project-based learning models. The results of the literature study show that discovery, problem-based and project-based learning models are able to improve students' communication skills.
