Abstract

The rapid advancement of generative AI technologies, such as ChatGPT, has introduced significant innovations across various sectors. However, the factors influencing the continuance usage intention of these technologies remain underexplored, particularly among university students in Indonesia. This study investigates the role of Personal Innovativeness within the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in determining students' intentions to continue using ChatGPT. The study used a quantitative method, involving a survey of 252 Indonesian university students. The survey measured Personal Innovativeness, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, and Continuance Usage Intention using validated measures on a Likert scale with five points. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) was utilized to evaluate the evidence. The results demonstrate that all three factors have a favorable effect on the desire to continue utilizing ChatGPT. Theoretically, this study expands the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by incorporating Personal Innovativeness, offering new insights into factors that sustain long-term technology engagement. This integration contributes to the growing body of knowledge on technology adoption and its continued use, especially within educational contexts. Practically, the results underscore the importance of developing user-friendly and beneficial AI tools and fostering an innovative mindset among students to enhance sustained engagement. Future research should consider longitudinal studies and more diverse populations to further elucidate the factors influencing the continuance usage intention of AI technologies in educational contexts. These insights have significant implications for educators and developers aiming to improve the adoption and sustained use of AI tools like ChatGPT in education.

Abstract

This research aims to empirically analyze the influence of leverage and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) on financial performance, with firm size functioning as a moderating variable, specifically within the hospitality industry in a Regency. The hospitality sector is a crucial part of the service industry that needs to be developed to foster new opportunities and enhance performance through competitive advantages. Employing a mixed methods approach, the study utilized purposive sampling to select a total of 117 industry units. Data analysis was conducted using the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) method. The results reveal that firm size does not moderate the effect of leverage on financial performance. Nonetheless, the GCG components namely the size of the board of directors, board of commissioners, and institutional ownership demonstrate a significant impact on financial performance when firm size is used as a moderating factor. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that effective implementation of GCG elements, supported by firm size, can strengthen financial performance in the hospitality industry. However, firm size alone is insufficient to influence the relationship between leverage and performance in this sector.

Abstract

Indonesia in mid-2019 announced plans to move the capital of Indonesia outside the island of Java. The location chosen for the new capital is East Kalimantan Province. Data from the East Kalimantan Provincial Culture and Tourism Office in 2022 shows that East Kalimantan has 664 objects dominated by nature tourism. The relocation of the National Capital (IKN) increases the opportunity for tourism development in East Kalimantan as a buffer zone for IKN. Analysis to determine market share and market growth using the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). The paradigm of this research is quantitative with the aim to identify tourism objects and provide proposed strategy formulations for tourism object managers, especially East Kalimantan. The results of BCG matrix calculation show that in 2022, East Kalimantan has a market growth rate of 67.10% with a market share of 0.0163. These results show that the market growth rate is high, but the market share is low. The BCG matrix for East Kalimantan Province is the question mark quadrant, so it can be said that East Kalimantan requires relatively high development and investment costs to turn the tourism sector in the question mark category into stars and later into cash cows. Strategies that can be applied are increasing market share and maintaining growth, investing in human resources, utilizing technology and digitalization, and developing new advantages. The results of this study provide management implications for owners of tourist attractions in East Kalimantan so that tourism can become an important sector for the economy of East Kalimantan.

Abstract

Climate change is driving the urgency of transitioning to a low-carbon economy. In this regard, green finance is an important instrument in mitigating climate change. However, the implementation of green finance faces challenges such as data complexity, information asymmetry, and the risk of greenwashing. This study aims to systematically examine the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in expanding the adoption, effectiveness, and innovation of green finance instruments among stakeholders. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 61 articles from the Scopus database, analyzed using the PICo framework and CASP quality assessment. The results of the study indicate that AI can fundamentally support 1) stakeholder needs and challenges, 2) accuracy, transparency, and efficiency, and 3) mitigating the risk of greenwashing. Stakeholder needs and challenges can be addressed by AI through improved accuracy in risk prediction and market analysis, as well as optimizing green portfolios. AI mechanisms have proven capable of improving accuracy through advanced predictive models, strengthening transparency with Explainable AI (XAI) and blockchain, and driving efficiency through automation and resource optimization. Significantly, AI integration strengthens the positive impact of sustainable investments and serves as a powerful mitigation tool against greenwashing risks by objectively verifying environmental claims and enhancing accountability. AI emerges as a transformative technology to accelerate an effective and credible green financial ecosystem.

Abstract

Natural disasters pose significant economic and social challenges, particularly in vulnerable regions, necessitating strategies to enhance resilience. This study explores the relationship between Environmental, Social, and Governance practices and disaster risk resilience in financial institutions. The objective is to understand how these practices strengthen financial stability and sustainable development in high-risk environments. A systematic literature review was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews model, analyzing relevant articles from the Scopus database. Findings reveal that integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance practices enables financial institutions to conduct comprehensive risk assessments, leading to informed lending and investment decisions. These practices enhance resilience by mitigating financial shocks from disasters, fostering stakeholder relationships, and promoting sustainable investments. The study concludes that adopting Environmental, Social, and Governance principles significantly bolsters financial institutions' capacity to manage disaster risks, ensuring long-term stability and supporting sustainable development. However, challenges such as regional regulatory differences and data limitations highlight the need for further research to optimize these practices globally. This underscores the critical role of Environmental, Social, and Governance frameworks in building resilient financial systems.

Abstract

The growing severity of natural disasters due to more unpredictable climate change disrupts the economic system requiring new financial tools to handle the related risks. Climate finance has become essential for aiding disaster risk reduction and preparedness efforts. Nonetheless, obstacles like insufficient alignment of financial tools with resilience approaches, governance issues, and restricted community capabilities impede its efficacy. This study systematically examines the role of climate finance in funding disaster risk reduction and preparedness efforts and how financial instruments activated by disasters can enhance the effectiveness of these initiatives. This research utilizes a systematic literature review that adheres to the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis framework, examining 27 peer-reviewed publications from Scopus and Web of Science. The analysis indicates that financial tools activated by disasters can lower financial losses by as much as 25% in climate risk situations. Essential results emphasize the significance of government policies in enhancing these tools, the involvement of private sector funding, and the necessity for region-specific risk evaluation frameworks. Gaps in execution remain, especially in developing nations, arising from funding shortages, a $90 trillion deficit for green infrastructure by 2025, and governance inefficiencies. The incorporation of climate funding and disaster-related tools greatly improves community resilience and the stability of financial systems. This study can inform policy formulation for integrating climate finance governance to promote the swift advancement of financial instrument innovation, enhance local resilience, guarantee inclusive, and sustainable funding.
