Abstract

This research aimed to; (1) Revealing the ability to read poetry by applying Gordon model; (2) Revealing the ability to read poetry by applying the Moody model; and (3) Revealing whether learning to read poetry through the applying of the Gordon model is more effective than the Moody model. This research used a quasi-experimental design. The instrument was an assessment rubric. The results were; (l) The ability of students to read poetry by applying the Gordon model is in the fairly skilled category with an average score of 62.50; (2) The ability of students to read poetry by applying the Moody model is in the fairly skilled category with an average score of 64.25; and (3) The data analysis showed that, values are obtained sig. (2 tailed) of 0.431 > 0.05 then H0 is accepted and HA is rejected. It can be concluded that the application of the Gordon model is not more effective than the Moody model. Thus, both models are equally effective in learning to read poetry at class VIII junior high school students of COBIG ISLAMIC SCHOOL Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effect of Peer Tutoring method and STAD method on short story writing skills of XI UPT class students of SMA Negeri 11 Makassar. This research used quasi experimental design by using nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class XI UPT SMA Negeri 11 Makassar. The data collection technique of this study with the results of writing short stories on the initial test before being given treatment and the final test after being given treatment. Data analysis techniques used in this study were analysed using two types of statistics, namely descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics. The results showed that based on the data analysis of the independent sample t test by comparing the tcount with the ttable, the tcount value was 0.564 and the ttable (α: 0.05; df = 58) was 2.002. Thus, tcount = 0.564 < ttable (α/2) = 2.002; then H0 is accepted which indicates that there is no significant difference in the comparison of the effect of Peer Tutoring method and STAD method on short story writing skills of class XI UPT students of SMA Negeri 11 Makassar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) komponen metafora pada bahasa sumber (BSu) dan bahasa Sasaran (BSa), Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan data berupa kata, frasa, kalusa, dan kalimat yang memuat ekspresi figuratif metafora dalam sumber data berupa novel karya Leigh Bardugo baik dalam teks sumber yang berjudul “Six of Crows” maupun dalam teks sasaran yang berjudul “Enam Burung Gagak”. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan yakni teknik dokumentasi, teknik pustaka, teknik simak, dan teknik catat. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan peneliti sebagai intrumen utama dan korpus data sebagai instrumen pendukung dengan teknik analisis data melalui alur reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Peneliti mengelompokkan metafora berdasarkan kategorisasi metafora teori Stephen Ullman dengan komponen metafora dianalisis berdasarkan teori Black dan Richard dan terjemahannya dikelompokkan berdasarkan urutan prioritas gabungan teori strategi penerjemahan metafora Larson dan Newmark, hasilnya menunjukkan: (1) Komponen metafora yang ditemukan terdiri atas topik (tenor), citra (vehicle), dan titik kemiripan (ground), dengan tipe komponen berupa: topik (tenor) implisit-citra (vehicle) eksplisit, topik (tenor) eksplisit-citra (vehicle) implisit, topik (tenor) implisit-citra (vehicle) implisit, topik (tenor) eksplisit-citra (vehicle) eksplisit, sedangkan titik kemiripan (ground) sebagai poros dalam mengenali komponen lainnya, (2) terdapat 157 ekspresi figuratif metafora yang ditemukan dalam teks sumber “Six of Crows” dengan rincian 41 metafora antropomorfik, 26 metafora kehewanan, 58 metafora keabstrakan, dan 32 metafora sinestesia, proses penerjemahan yang menyesuaikan dengan kesepadanan makna menyebabkan beberapa metafora lebur menjadi ungkapan non figuratif dalam teks sasaran pada bentuk terjemahan “Enam Burung Gagak” sehingga tersisa 111 ungkapan figuratif metafora pada teks sasaran.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the main character and the value of character education in the novel Suluh Rindu by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. This type of research is qualitative. The instrument used in this research is human instrument or the researcher himself. The data collection technique in this research uses note-taking and documentation methods. Data analysis techniques in this research are data reduction, data categorisation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that in the novel Suluh Rindu by Habiburrahman El Shirazy there are two main characters, namely Ridho and Syifa. Ridho's character is obedient to worship, loving, disciplined, responsible, and generous. Syifa's character is hardworking, generous, disciplined, devout, and forgiving. Furthermore, in the novel Suluh Rindu by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, there are five aspects of character education, namely religion, nationalism, independence, mutual cooperation, and integrity.

Abstract

This study is a quantitative research that aims to describe the variation of language use on Instagram social media and to describe the causes of the variation. This research uses qualitative research method with descriptive method. The data collection techniques are documentation and note-taking techniques. The results of this study show that there are six types of language variation on Instagram social media, namely language variation in terms of speakers, language variation in terms of usage, language variation in terms of formality, language variation in terms of means, slang variation, and mixed Indonesian-English language variation. In addition, in this study there are factors that cause the use of language variation on Instagram social media. The new finding in this research is the form of data analysis made in the form of a formula as part of data grouping. Slang and mixed language variations in Instagram social media become a renewable form in this research, showing the diversity of language forms that have different meanings or meanings in each word found.

Abstract

This research is a descriptive qualitative research that aims to (1) Describe the form of directive speech acts in Mata Najwa's Dialogue Show “Why Do I Need to Study ala Maudy, Andhika, and Amanda”. (2) To describe the function of directive speech acts in Mata Najwa's Dialogue Show “Why Do I Need to Go to College ala Maudy, Andhika, and Amanda”. The data in this study are transcripts of speech or fragments of conversations in the video of Mata Najwa Show “Why Do I Need to Go to College ala Maudy, Andhika, and Amanda”. The source of the data is the dialog conversation contained in Mata Najwa Show “Why Do I Need to Go to College ala Maudy, Andhika, and Amanda”. Data collection is done by listening technique, data transcription and note taking technique. Data analysis is done by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. From the analysis, it is found that there are six forms of directive speech acts, namely: requests, questions, orders, prohibitions, giving permission, and advice.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the form and function of expressive speech acts in Watch videos on Facebook social media. This type of research is qualitative research. Data collection in this research uses listening and note-taking techniques. The results revealed that the form of speech acts on Watch videos on Facebook are literal direct speech acts, literal indirect speech acts, non-literal direct speech acts and non-literal indirect speech acts. The functions of expressive speech acts used in Watch videos on Facebook social media are criticising, blaming, praising, thanking, apologising, congratulating, and condoling. The use of various expressive speech act functions in Watch videos on Facebook is used to express the speaker's feelings. The function of criticising, blaming is intended as a form of dislike for something. The function of praising, thanking, congratulating and expressing condolences is intended as a form of good response from the speaker to what is seen, heard or felt. While the function of apologising is intended as a sense of regret of the speaker for what he did, the function of apologising speech is mostly spoken by women and men as a form of regret for the mistakes made.

Abstract

This research aims to prove the effectiveness of using audiovisual media in learning to write drama scripts for students. The population in this research were students of class XII Social Science which collected 90 people from three classes. The sample was determined by purposive sampling technique in order to obtain 2 classes as the experimental and control classes. The research design was a quasi-experimental. The instrument used is a drama writing test. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis in the form of independent t-test. The results showed that the group using audiovisual media obtained better results than audio media. The results of the study were evidenced by a t-test which showed that audiovisual media was effectively used in learning to write drama scripts. The implication of this research is that teachers can improve students' ability to write Indonesian drama scripts using audiovisual media. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan keefektifan penggunaan media audiovisual dalam pembelajaran menulis naskah drama siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XII IPS yang berjumlah 90 orang dari tiga kelas. Sampel ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling sehingga diperoleh 2 kelas sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Desain penelitian adalah eksperimen semu. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes menulis drama. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial berupa independent t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok yang menggunakan media audiovisual memperoleh hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan media audio. Hasil penelitian tersebut dibutikan dengan uji-t yang menunjukkan bahwa media audiovisual efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menulis naskah drama. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah guru dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa menulis naskah drama bahasa Indonesia dengan menggunakan media audiovisual.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of language style in poetry by class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Pangkep. The research design used is descriptive qualitative. The data in this study are arrays or sentences containing stylistic language in poetry by students of class X SMA Negeri 1 Pangkep. The data collection technique was obtained using the reading and note-taking technique. Data analysis techniques are data analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the most dominating language style was assonance. The meaning conveyed by students through the chosen language style. Some are expressed using the actual meaning (denotative) and some are expressed with additional meaning (connotative).

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran menulis teks persuasi melalui platform media sosial yang efektif, menarik, dan relevan dengan kehidupan siswa. Media sosial dipilih karena merupakan bagian integral dari keseharian siswa, sehingga diharapkan mampu meningkatkan motivasi dan keterlibatan mereka dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Pada tahap awal, dilakukan analisis kebutuhan yang melibatkan siswa dan guru untuk memahami kesulitan dan kebutuhan dalam pembelajaran menulis teks persuasi. Hasil pengembangan desain media divalidasi oleh para ahli, yang menunjukkan bahwa media ini layak digunakan dengan penilaian positif pada aspek teknis, pedagogis, dan estetika. Uji coba terbatas juga menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan menulis dan motivasi siswa dalam menulis teks persuasi melalui interaksi di media sosial. Secara keseluruhan, media pembelajaran ini dinyatakan efektif dan siap diimplementasikan lebih luas dalam pembelajaran, meskipun perlu ada pengawasan guru dalam mengelola interaksi di media sosial.Kata Kunci: Pengembangan, Media Pembelajaran, Menulis, Teks Persuasi, Media Sosial
