Abstract

One of the factors causing the lack of success in reading comprehension in English in high school is the text used in learning that is set in a foreign culture. This study aims to describe the improvement of students' skills in understanding the contents of reading texts by using a model of text-based teaching materials based on local culture. This research uses classroom action research with implementation steps; (1) initial observations to determine research problems and data collection; (2) formulate research action plans, formulate models of teaching materials (3) development of teaching materials; (4) carry out the action; (5) collaborate with English teachers; (6) draw up a teaching plan; (7) reflection and revision of actions; (8) classroom action; (9) improvement of teaching materials. The subjects of this study were two English teachers and 28 high school students in class XI who were studying English with the topic of Reading Comprehension. The results showed an increase in student involvement in discussions, higher student initiative to ask questions, higher student activity in digging information. Learning outcomes indicated by the level of students' ability to answer questions are also getting higher. Learning becomes more effective and efficient in achieving learning objectives.

Abstract

Mathematics is one material that most students do not like. In addition to being less attractive, elementary school students also tend to have grades among their peers. This shows the lack of attention applied in learning mathematics. This study aimed to analyze the relationship and influence of cooperative characters with student responses by using traditional games in learning. This type of research uses quantitative methods with the type of comparative research. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is random sampling. The research subjects in this study were 120 students. The results obtained are that the cooperative character in the traditional game of Congklak is superior, which is in a very good percentage (60%). The student's response to the traditional game of congklak was very good (55%). The results of the correlation test of the cooperative character of students in traditional games, namely, there is a relationship between the character of cooperation with students' responses to the traditional game of congklak in mathematics. It can be said that there is a relationship and influence of the character of cooperation with student responses. The implication of this research is that playing traditional games in learning can increase students' interest in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Salah satu contoh masalah dalam graf adalah pencarian pohon merentang. Terdapat dua kasus yang pada umumnya dibahas dalam pencarian pohon merentang, yaitu pohon merentang maksimum dan pohon merentang minimum. Ada beberapa algoritma yang dapat digunakan untuk mencari pohon merentang minimum dari sebuah graf berbobot atau dikenal dengan istilah pencarian Minimum Spanning Tree (MST). Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pencarian Minimum Spanning Tree pada jaringan pipa air PDAM pada perumahan mendalo asri, menggunakan Algoritma Prim. Pencarian dilakukan secara manual dan menggunakan software TORA. Pengambilan data dilakukan di kantor PDAM Tirta Muaro Jambi, Provinsi Jambi. Dari data yang diperoleh dapat disusun gambar jaringan dalam bentuk graf terhubung dan tak berarah serta memiliki bobot. Dari gambar jaringan tersebut selanjutnya dilakukan pencarian Minimum Spanning Tree. Pada penelitian ini, dapat diketahui bahwa pencarian Minimum Spanning Tree menggunakan algoritma prim baik secara manual maupun dengan bantuan software TORA, menunjukkan pemilihan sisi pada iterasi yang sama dan menghasilkan struktur MST dengan jumlah bobot yang sama juga yaitu sebesar 5.876 meter. Dibandingkan dengan graf awal yang berbobot 7.898 meter, maka hasil dari Minimum Spanning Tree menunjukkan selisih bobot pipa yang cukup signifikan yaitu sebesar 2.022 meter.

Abstract

Dalam pelajaran matematika terdapat banyak konsep yang mengharuskan siswa untuk menggunakan penalaran proporsionalnya. Penalaran proporsional dapat menjadi petunjuk tinggi rendahnya penguasaan matematika siswa pada pokok bahasan yang melibatkan masalah perbandingan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penalaran proporsional siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori di kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Kota Jambi dalam menyelesaikan soal perbandingan sub materi perbandingan senilai dan mengetahui kesalahan-kesalahan siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori dalam menyelesaikan soal tes penalaran proporsional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori belum menggunakan penalaran proporsionalnya dalam menyelesaikan soal. Siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori belum memenuhi ketiga indikator penalaran proporsional. Dari hasil penelitian dapat dilihat bahwa pada indikator pertama enam siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori atau 100% siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori dominan bisa menemukan kuantitas yang ingin dibandingkan. Pada indikator kedua dari enam siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori lima diantaranya menggunakan kuantitas tersebut hanya untuk mencari nilai satuan saja, bukan untuk menemukan intensif hubungan atau rasio dari dua kuantitas dimana anak menggunakan proporsi-proporsi dari kuantitas yang ada, hanya satu orang atau 16,6% dari siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori yang menggunakan semua kuantitas untuk menemukan intensif hubungan. Pada indikator ketiga enam anak auditori dominan tidak menggunakan perkalian silang untuk menyelesaikan soal yang melekat pada situasi perbandingan hanya satu orang atau 16,6% siswa dengan gaya belajar auditori yang menggunakan perkalian silang pada situasi perbandingan. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan anak auditori memiliki kesalahan berupa kesalahan konseptual dan kesalahan prosedural. Kata Kunci : penalaran proporsional siswa, siswa auditori, penyelesaikan soal matematika.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce statistical textbooks using the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) application as self-education for students who meet the criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness. This research is a development research that uses the ADDIE development model which implements an Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate stage. The results obtained in this study are the quality of textbook development results from the results of material validation analysis with a percentage of 90%, design validation analysis with a percentage of 88.9% fulfilling very valid criteria. The results of the questionnaire analysis show that the textbook meets the very practical criteria. Based on the results of the analysis of the lecturer assessment questionnaire with a percentage of 90%, the results of the small group trial questionnaire analysis with a percentage of 79.50%. Thus, statistical textbooks using the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) application meet the valid and practical criteria.

Abstract

The learning model is one of the most important things in the learning and learning process. A good learning model will make students more enthusiastic in learning because the model is interesting and effective. The purpose of this study was to analyze the comparison of learning models of problem based learning and problem solving models with student problem solving on cube and block material on the skill process in elementary schools. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a comparative type. The population of this study was 72 students from two schools, included 40 women and 32 men as students, were the subjects studied. The instruments used are student process skills observation sheets and learning questionnaire models. Data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires and observation sheets. The data analysis technique used is purposive sampling. The results of the description can be said that based on the T test it can be said that the problem-solving learning model is superior to the problem-based learning model. From the results of the T test for the learning model of students' science process skills, it can be seen that there are differences in the learning model.

Abstract

Masalah pengeluaran yang tidak stabil dan produksi yang tidak optimal mendorong pelaku usaha untuk merumuskan strategi yang tepat agar usaha dapat terus berjalan dengan lancar. Hal tersebut juga terkait dengan adanya keinginan untuk memaksimalkan keuntungan. Masalah yang demikian dialami pula oleh pelaku usaha Mi Aceh Pattimura, Jambi. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan dan mengidentifikasi jumlah produksi yang optimal per hari supaya pelaku usaha Mi Aceh Pattimura memperoleh keuntungan harian yang optimal berdasarkan modal dan bahan yang tersedia. Dan pada penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan untuk menemukan keadaan optimal tersebut adalah metode Kuhn Tucker. Berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan metode Karush-Kuhn-Tucker, diperoleh jumlah produksi optimal per hari pada usaha Mi Aceh Pattimura adalah mi aceh kuah sebanyak 15 porsi, mi aceh goreng sebanyak 6 porsi, mi aceh tumis sebanyak 19 porsi, mi aceh daging sebanyak 20 porsi, mi aceh ayam sebanyak 20 porsi, dan mi aceh udang sebanyak 20 porsi dengan keuntungan optimal yang dapat diperoleh sebesar Rp. 745.169,9279 per hari.

Abstract

A capital market is a market in which long-term trading of financial assets takes place, or a market in which various financial instruments are traded. The development of capital markets promotes the economic development of the country. The form of investment in the capital market is in the form of shares. Because stock prices are constantly fluctuating, capital market participants need analysis to help predict future stock prices. PT Aneka Tambang TBK or ANTM for short is one of the stocks traded in Indonesia's capital market. This study applied the Box-Jenkins ARIMA method for the period from July 2021 to November 2021 to determine the optimal forecast model for stock price fluctuations of ANTM, and obtained forecast results in December 2021. It is intended to The best preserved model is his ARIMA model (3,2,0) and ANTM's December 2021 stock price forecast results are down.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki kualitas proses pembelajaran mata kuliah kalkulus I dengan “mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berbasis masalah” dalam proses pemelajaran pada program studi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Jambi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), dengan desain penelitian menggunakan beberapa siklus yang terdiri dari 6 kali pertemuan. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pendidikan matematika semester 1 tahun akademik 2021/2022 kelas yang berjumlah 20 orang. Variabel yang diamati sebagai indikator keberhasilan penelitian adalah, kemampuan kognitif, tingkat berpikir kritis, aktivitas mahasiswa dan dosen dalam proses pembelajaran. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu instrument tes pada pendekatan kuantitatif, dan lembar observasi pada pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, secara numeris nilai rata-rata kemampuan kognitif mahasiswa mencapai 80,8% dan nilai rata-rata kelas 76,8. Nilai rata-rata tingkat berpikir kritis mahasiswa adalah 23 (66%) kategori sedang, namun pada pertemuan kelima dan keenam meningkat menjadi 90% dan 100% kategori sangat tinggi. Nilai rata-rata aktivitas mahasiswa dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran  mencapai 463 (85,7%) kategori sangat tinggi. Nilai rata-rata kualitas proses pembelajaran adalah 21 (80%) kategori tinggi. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa implementasi pembelajaran berbasis masalah dalam proses pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan kualitas proses pembelajaran khususnya dalam proses pembelajaran mata kuliah kalkulus I. This study aims to improve the quality of the learning process for calculus I courses by "implementing problem-based learning" in the learning process in the Mathematics Education study program, FKIP University of Jambi. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), with a research design using several cycles consisting of 6 meetings. The research subjects were students of mathematics education in semester 1 of the 2021/2022 academic year, a class of 20 people. The variables observed as indicators of research success are cognitive abilities, critical thinking levels, student and lecturer activities in the learning process. Data collection techniques in this study are test instruments on a quantitative approach, and observation sheets on a qualitative approach. The results showed that numerically the average value of students' cognitive abilities reached 80.8% and the class average value was 76.8. The average value of students' critical thinking level was 23 (66%) in the medium category, but at the fifth and sixth meeting it increased to 90% and 100% very high category. The average value of student activity in participating in the learning process reaches 463 (85.7%) in the very high category. The average value of the quality of the learning process is 21 (80%) in the high category. The research concluded that the implementation of problem-based learning in the learning process can improve the quality of the learning process, especially in the learning process of calculus I courses.

Abstract

This research is an ADDIE-based research and development. Data on the development process were collected using tools validated by materiel experts, design experts, student response questionnaires and teacher responses. The results of the implementation of the use of textbooks are seen from the student activity sheets and student learning outcomes, in this study using participants from class VIII students of MTs YPI Kuala Enok totaling 28 students with a random sampling technique. The results of this development research are: (1) SMP / MTs mathematics textbooks based on the APOS theory on straight line equation material are declared suitable for use in learning activities based on the validation results of material experts and design experts. Based on the results of student and teacher responses to textbooks, they are ranked very well. (2) The effectiveness of using SMP/MTs mathematics textbooks based on the APOS (Action, Process, Object, Schema) theory of straight line equation material seen from the student activity sheet can be concluded that in the process of learning student activities. In addition, on the basis of the results of all students, the criteria for completeness were achieved, an average score of 85. Thus, from the results of this analysis, it can be concluded that textbooks based on the APOS theory are effective in constructing an understanding of the concept of straight line equations.
