Abstract

This community service activity was carried out to provide training to students on journalistic caricatures. The training was intended for senior high school level students considering that their age was youth or adolescent. Teenagers usually had a lot of creative ideas that need to be explored and expressed positively. They had feelings and or opinions about the conditions that occur. All was to be appreciated better so their activity couldn't damage and pollute the surrounding environment, such as painting the walls of public facilities. Social media feeds also need to be posted with more exciting and brilliant uploads when giving specific reactions to social, political, or economic phenomena. With this journalistic caricature training and competition, students were also expected to know about (mass) media content production. In this way, students as members of society were passive public who consume media content and learn how mass media content was produced/presented to the public.

Abstract

All sectors of human life have been affected by the Covid-19 virus, including the media industry. There have been many changes in the media organization. The patterns that have become standard have completely changed due to the pandemic. The media face many challenges because of that. Those are the risk to the safety of workers, the loss of several types of jobs, the dominance of information sources, and threats to the diversity of information that the public can receive. Those were the results of this study. That results were obtained by a research process carried out from May to mid-December 2021. The method was carried out by interviewing and observing journalists who worked in the Surakarta area, Indonesia. Apart from that, it also observed the media work process (newsroom). Technology, the safety of life, dominance of news sources, and diversity of content were challenges for media actors in ethical demands and the fulfillment of basic principles of journalism that have not changed at all.

Abstract

Indonesian society, especially in Java, still places women in a subordinate position. Women are placed in three functions, namely macak, cook, and manak. As a result, women become less developed even though they have great potential to support regional and national development. This journalism training was held in order to empower the role of women so that they are not always placed in domestic tasks. It is time for women to show their existence through positive things. One of them is by productively writing or creating media content. This service activity is aimed at Nasyiatul Aisyiyah Boyolali Central Java cadres, an organization that focuses on empowering women. This activity was carried out through three stages, namely the delivery of material, practice, and evaluation. The material presented was about the mass media and the power they have as well as an understanding of the need to utilize the power of the mass media through mastering skills in making media products. At the practical stage, exercises were carried out on making journalistic scripts, photos and videos, then at the final stage was an evaluation of the work produced by the participants. The results of this service activity showed an increase in the quality of women through mastery of knowledge and skills in making journalistic scripts, photos and videos.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana Kompas TV membingkai masalah penyelenggaraan Formula E Jakarta melalui tayangan Aiman episode Di Balik Gaduh Balapan Ibu Kota. Aiman adalah program acara yang menayangkan hasil penelusuran dengan mencari data informasi mengenai kasus yang sedang diangkat pada setiap episodenya dengan gaya jurnalistik investigasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe penelitian deskriptif dan teknik analisis menggunakan teori framing model Robert N.Entman. Hasil penelitian program Aiman membingkai episode "Di Balik Gaduh Balapan Ibu Kota" dengan menetapkan lima pendefinisian masalah, lima penyebab masalah, lima keputusan moral, dan lima penekanan penyelesaian masalah yang terbagi pada setiap segmen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penulis menarik kesimpulan bahwa program Aiman membingkai episode "Di Balik Gaduh Balapan Ibu Kota" dengan menonjolkan konflik-konflik dengan sikap penolakan tidak setuju dengan Pemprov DKI Jakarta yang menggunakan anggaran APBD 1,6 Triliun dan lokasi Monas sebagai sirkuit untuk menyelenggarakan balapan Formula E.

Abstract

In this research, researchers used qualitative research methods. This study aims to describe the framing of news in the news of the Red and White Flag Not Flying at the Closing Ceremony of the 2020 Thomas Cup after Indonesia won the Thomas Cup 2020 on CNN Indonesia.com and Mind Rakyat.com. In analyzing the news, the researcher uses Robert N. Entman's framing model analysis which focuses on the selection of issues and highlighting aspects. The results of this study indicate that the news presented by CNN Indonesia.com is more intense in reporting the incident. In selecting sources, CNN Indonesia.com tends to select people who are competent in this regard, such as LADI, Kemenpora, KOI, athletes, and badminton legends. So that the news is more objective and neutral in reporting the news about the not flying the Red and White flag at the closing ceremony of the 2020 Thomas Cup. Meanwhile, Mind Rakyat.com in reporting the event was not intense. In selecting its sources, Mind Rakyat.com tends to have a wider reach so that it is not only people who are competent in that field who can provide feedback regarding the events that occurred.

Abstract

Radio is a mass communication medium that has long been present among the people of Indonesia. Radio Republik Indonesia is a public broadcasting institution whose function is to provide information broadcast services, healthy entertainment education, and social control. The research entitled "Republic of Indonesia Radio Broadcasting Strategy Surakarta To Reach Rural Through Rural Broadcasting Program" aims to describe how the strategy adopted by RRI Pro 1 Surakarta in reaching rural areas through the Rural Broadcasting Program. The method in this research is descriptive using a qualitative approach. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that RRI Pro 1 Surakarta broadcasts on 101.1 FM has the power to build a broadcasting strategy in reaching rural areas through rural broadcasting programs using the Prigle Starr-Mccavit Broadcasting Strategy theory, namely program planning Prepare short, medium and long term planning In the long term, program production is in the program production process, RRI Pro 1 Surakarta adjusts programs produced by RRI Pusat, in the sense that all RRI programs throughout Indonesia are produced by RRI itself, program execution in program execution, RRI Pro 1 Surakarta uses clock format system, namely the time that distinguishes morning, afternoon, evening and night and program evaluation in the program evaluation process, RRI Pro 1 Surakarta evaluates every 6 months.

Abstract

This community service was to help the community utilize the internet as a means of promoting tourism or all the potential in the Pacitan area, East Java. The intended target was for students to be more productive in utilizing their time in this information and digital era. Research shows that students spend more time surfing cyberspace, fulfilling their entertainment needs than studying. Through journalism training, it was hoped that students who were still active members of society and had high curiosity could canalize it through positive activities. The way to do it was by making journalistic products that could be published in media. How to make journalistic products that could be suitable for publication in the media or were of interest to the public as a means of regional promotion was the goal of this activity. This activity was part of efforts to increase society's digital competence.

Abstract

Diplomasi budaya adalah bentuk diplomasi yang mengangkat materi seni-budaya, baik berupa seni pertunjukan, seni tari, seni pedalangan, seni suara atau seni bela diri, termasuk kuliner, sebagai bahan atau materi untuk diplomasi. Diplomasi budaya, merupakan bentuk halus dari hubungan antar negara, dan  memiliki peran penting dalam ikut menyumbangkan perannya bagi perdamaian dunia. Oleh sebab itu, diplomasi budaya digunakan sebagai upaya untuk mencapai tujuan nasional melalui cara-cara yang lebih lunak. Oleh karena itu, diplomasi budaya juga disebut sebagai soft power diplomacy. Tulisan ini untuk menjelaskan salah satu praktik soft power diplomacy yang dilakukan oleh aktor non-negara, yaitu pengalaman individu penulis sendiri, utamanya menggunakan wayang kulit, kuliner dan batik. Penggunaan ketiga produk budaya Indonesia ini didasarkan pada hasil penelitian yang penulis lakukan mengenai pentingnya diplomasi berbasis kearifan lokal, antara lain berjudul "Diplomasi Multi-jalur Berbasis Genius Lokal. ". Isinya antara lain adalah wayang kulit dan jenis seni-budaya lainnya, seperti kuliner dan seni sastra, dapat diangkat sebagai metode pembelajaran dalam domain hubungan internasional. Selain sebagai alat diplomasi, penggunaan wayang, kuliner dan batik juga diimplementasikan sebagai wahana praktik diplomasi kebudayaan, sekaligus sebagai upaya pelestarian seni dan budaya khas bangsa Indonesia. Kata kunci : seni, batik, budaya, diplomasi, wayang kulit , soft power.

Abstract

This paper departs from the fact that capitalism has reached the stage of complete domination and hegemony. Art products, the art market, and creators are strongly influenced by the ups and downs of the market, the atmosphere and monetary stability, and market players such as auction houses, curators, collectors, collectors, art dealers, patronage, and the mass media. In such a position, it raises the question of how the position of the creator and his work in dealing with enthusiasts and observers of art, markets, and capitalism. Do the creators voluntarily submit and obey the choice to join the capitalist game, or do the creators have a strong bargaining position to maintain idealism and enthusiasm not to get caught up in the game of capital and political games. It is a document study, this article to answer the above questions. As a result, there are two perspectives: first, the perspective of artwork as a commodity that occurs in the current era, and the second is the artwork as an aesthetic object. In the perspective of art as a commodity, creators generally follow market tastes, assisted by patronage, collectors or collectors, and other elements such as curators and mass media. This capitalism employs a strategy called “frying fry.” The second perspective is the artwork as prestige and increasing social status. In this era, creators still have a good bargaining position because there are no market access constraints.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang bertujuan meningkatkan potensi pariwisata Desa Wisata Gentan Bulu melalui pelatihan pembuatan website landing page. Pendekatan partisipatif dan terstruktur diterapkan dalam merancang dan melaksanakan pelatihan, melibatkan peserta dari berbagai lapisan masyarakat. Evaluasi peserta menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan mereka terkait teknologi informasi dan pembuatan website. Pelatihan ini tidak hanya berhasil meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam kegiatan lokal tetapi juga mendorong implementasi website landing page yang berhasil meningkatkan eksposur Desa Wisata Gentan Bulu sebagai destinasi pariwisata. Dampak positif terlihat dalam peningkatan jumlah kunjungan wisatawan dan keterlibatan pemerintah lokal dalam mendukung pengembangan pariwisata berbasis teknologi. Meskipun demikian, beberapa tantangan seperti tingkat pemahaman awal yang beragam dan keterbatasan akses teknologi perlu diatasi. Dengan menyoroti keunggulan pelatihan dalam pendekatan kontekstual dan bimbingan lanjutan, kegiatan ini memberikan pandangan mendalam tentang potensi pengembangan pariwisata berbasis teknologi di konteks desa. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa model pelatihan ini dapat diadopsi dan disesuaikan dengan kondisi masyarakat lokal di berbagai lokasi. Kesimpulan kegiatan menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi antara akademisi, pemerintah, dan masyarakat dalam menciptakan pariwisata yang inklusif, berkelanjutan, dan berdaya saing.
