Abstract

The objective of fiscal decentralization objective in Indonesia is to reduce development disparities. Regarding education development, one crucial issue is access disparity. Using 440 sub provincial database during 2005-2009, this study is aim to analyze the impact of fiscal decentralization in reducing disparity of primary education access. Using fixed-effect model, the result showed that Dana Alokasi Khusus (DAK) for Education, DAK Non Education, and Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD) have significant impact in reducing education access disparity along with the wealth and regional characteristics. Nonetheless efforts need to be done to optimize the equalization of education access including strengthening the provincial government role in resources allocation and distribution of basic education services.

Abstract

The choice of being a street child is not a child’s desire. Children as part of the family have family structures and functions that play an important role in the child’s well-being. Roles exist in every family and these roles have the goal of helping families maintain structures (Garfat 2012) and family functions. The purpose of the research is to find out the structure and function of street children’s families in Pasar Malam CNI West Jakarta. The research uses qualitative methods and descriptive approaches. Data collection analysis is done with observations, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use interactive model analysis from (Miles and Huberman 1992) on a cyclical basis, i.e. data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion withdrawal. The results showed that street children have a family structure that has not been running as it should, thus making children take to the streets. There are several functions of street children’s families that do not run effectively, namely: social function and education and economic functions in all three families of street children. Then, the reproductive function and the construction function in the P2 family. Then, the function of love in the P3 family.

Abstract

Work value is a goal that a person wants to achieve through his work or as a consequence of his work. Preliminary study of the students internship experience, there are differences of opinion between students and field supervisors about the work value that students have. So it is necessary to investigate the truth so that there is no misunderstanding. This study aims to identify and analyze the work value of S1 Family Welfare Education students concentrating on hotel accommodation at Jakarta State University with active student informants class of 2019 who have carried out internship experience. This study uses a type of qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by interviews, documentation and indirect observation. The process of data analysis to data visualization was carried out using the Nvivo 12 plus software. The intrinsic work value that is of concern to the findings of this study is the intellectual stimulation of students in solving problems in students whose work in 4-star hotels are more often applied than students who are work in 5-star hotels. The extrinsic work value that is of concern to the findings of this study is the work environment which is good physically, is mostly found in the experience of student work in 5-star hotels, while the work environment psychologically, in 4-star hotels and 5-star hotels that students get or feel is fairly good.

Abstract

The pandemic phenomenon changed the order of people's lives, in the field of education encouraged children to learn from home. The pandemic has also caused financial turmoil in the household order that affects the socioeconomics of families. This study using Educational stress for adolescent (ESSA) instruments belonging to Jiandong Sun 2011 and Socioeconomic status-modified belonging to Aggarawal et al in 2005 was conducted on 401 high school students using an associative approach to test the relationship between family socioeconomic status and educational stress during the pandemic. The results of the research tested had neither any relationship nor significance. The analysis showed that there was a severe level of stress on the family's low and high socioeconomic status. This study discusses the analysis of the dimensions of family socioeconomic status with educational stress variables, as well as behaviors in overcoming good stress in adolescents. Abstrak Fenomena pandemi mengubah tatanan kehidupan masyarakat, dalam bidang pendidikan mendorong para siswa untuk melakukan pembelajaran dari rumah. Pandemi juga menimbulkan gejolak finansial pada tatanan rumah tangga yang mempengaruhi sosial ekonomi keluarga. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen Educational stress for adolescent (ESSA) milik Jiandong Sun 2011 dan Socioeconomic status-modified milik Aggarawal dkk tahun 2005 dilakukan pada 401 siswa SMA menggunakan pendekatan asosiatif untuk menguji hubungan antara Status sosial ekonomi keluarga dan stres Pendidikan di masa pandemi. Hasil penelitian yang diuji tidak memiliki hubungan maupun signifikansi. Analisis menunjukan terdapat tingkat stres yang berat pada status sosial ekonomi keluarga yang rendah maupun tinggi. Penelitian ini mendiskusikan mengenai analisis dari dimensi status sosial ekonomi keluarga dengan variabel Educational stress, serta perilaku dalam mengatasi stress yang baik pada remaja.

Abstract

Communication is the most important thing in human life and must be maintained effectiveness. Communication has a role to see how harmonious a family is. Over time there will be a transfer of responsibility in caring for the elderly in a family due to busy work or no time to take care of the elderly. The purpose of the study was to find out the relationship of elderly harmony through communication without the presence of one of the members who are not at home. Research uses a descriptive qualitative research approach. Research informants as many as 5 elderly in Jakarta who have one of the family members are not at home. Data collection techniques use the process of interviewing, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use interactive models, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/verification withdrawal. The results showed that communication carried out smoothly despite the busyness of work or taking care of children and the willingness of a good time. Aspects of communication have time and togetherness in the family seen in all respondents except aspects of listening and honesty.

Abstract

Subjective well-being in college students is formed by various factors that can impact their mental and emotional state. This study aims to see the dominant factors that shape the subjective well-being of college students. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a confirmatory factor analysis approach. This study involved 349 students from private universities in the East Jakarta area—data collection using questionnaires distributed through social media. The results showed that the order of the largest factor loading was the psychological well-being factor, the relationships factor, and the physical health and well-being factor, with a Keiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value of 0.758. This research implies that universities can focus more on improving physical health and well-being to not hinder student activities in lectures, such as maintaining sleep quality and other daily activities.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi yang terus maju memiliki dampak besar dalam kehidupan, terutama di sektor pendidikan, di mana teknologi digunakan untuk meningkatkan pengalaman belajar melalui berbagai media pembelajaran. Dalam konteks pendidikan, seorang guru dapat menggunakan teknologi sebagai sarana yang beragam dan menarik dengan menciptakan materi pembelajaran berupa video animasi, sehingga proses belajar menjadi lebih beragam daripada hanya mengandalkan metode ceramah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan dan mengetahui keefektifan media pembelajaran berbasis video animasi untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media video animasi dengan menggunakan prettest dan posttest pada mata pelajaran f&b service SMKN 27 Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang merupakan kepanjangan dari Analyze (analisis), Design (desain), Development (pengembangan), Implementation (pelaksanaan), dan Evaluation (evaluasi). Menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif menggunakan data kuantitatif. Dalam penelitian ini, populasi terdiri dari 15 siswa kelas XI Perhotelan 1 SMKN 27 Jakarta yang menjalani uji coba kelompok kecil (small group), sedangkan sampel penelitiannya mencakup 3 siswa dengan kategori masing-masing: unggul, sedang, dan kurang pintar, yang melalui uji coba perorangan (one to one). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terjadinya peningkatan minat belajar siswa terhadap media video animasi berdasarkan hasil pretest dan posttest. Dengan demikian, video animasi sebagai media pembelajaran efektif dan dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa.

Abstract

Example-based learning has been studied from different perspectives. Cognitive research has mainly focused on worked examples, which typically provide students with a written worked-out didactical solution to a problem to study. Social-cognitive research has mostly focused on modeling examples, which provide students the opportunity to observe an adult or a peer model performing the task. The present study aims to compare university students’ performance and satisfaction in various example-based learning. It involves paper-based examples (PBE), video-based examples (VBE) and mixed-based examples (MBE). An experimental study was administered with the participation of 36 undergraduate students who are enrolled in their third-year studies at a private university in Banten, Indonesia. The study findings reveal that MBE is superior in promoting students’ performance and satisfaction in example-based learning. It can be concluded that MBE stimulates higher learning performance and satisfaction. These findings complement previous studies with additional insight into learning satisfaction. Due to the focus of this study and the tendency of previous studies which were mainly experimental, it is recommended for conducting narrative studies in the future to disclose detailed performance and satisfaction per individual case.         Keywords: educational statistic, example based learning, satisfaction, learning performance.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i2.pp878-892
