Abstract

Conventional solar power plants (PLTS) generally use fixed-angle solar panels that follow the roof inclination, limiting their ability to capture maximum solar radiation throughout the day, particularly during the afternoon when the panels are no longer perpendicular to the sun. To overcome this limitation, this study proposes the design of a 50 Wp off-grid photovoltaic system equipped with a linear actuator-based solar tracking mechanism and a portable support frame. The research aims to develop an alternative renewable energy system capable of automatically adjusting the panel orientation to maximize solar energy absorption, improve electrical output, and accelerate battery charging. A quantitative experimental approach was employed by comparing the performance of the PLTS before and after the implementation of the solar tracker. System performance was evaluated using a Seaward photovoltaic tester and a clamp ammeter to measure voltage and current output. The results indicate that the solar panel absorbs radiant energy at a rate of 242.352 J/s, of which approximately 20% is converted into electrical energy (48.4704 W), while the remaining 80% is dissipated as heat. The developed system can operate independently for up to three hours without grid support and requires approximately 2.5 hours to fully charge the battery. Mechanical analysis confirms that the linear actuator safely withstands the applied load of 74 N, well below its allowable limit of 5,528 N. These findings demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed design as an efficient, reliable, and portable off-grid renewable energy solution.

Abstract

Electrical energy is essential for daily life in Indonesia, particularly in remote areas where access to the national grid remains limited. Off-grid solar power systems offer a promising solution, although fixed photovoltaic (PV) installations are less efficient because they cannot follow the sun’s movement. This study experimentally evaluated the performance of a 50 Wp off-grid solar power system equipped with a linear actuator-based solar tracker and assessed its structural safety using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in SolidWorks. A quantitative experimental approach compared a fixed PV system positioned at a 34° angle with a solar tracker system. Data on PV voltage, solar flux, and battery voltage were collected every 30 minutes between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Results showed that the solar tracker maintained more stable power generation and reduced afternoon output losses, producing an average power of 15.83 W compared with 6.79 W from the fixed system. Battery charging was also faster using the tracker. FEA results confirmed that all support structures met safety standards, with maximum stresses below the ASTM A36 yield strength and acceptable Factors of Safety. These findings demonstrate that linear actuator-based solar trackers significantly improve off-grid solar power performance while maintaining structural reliability.

Abstract

Manual potato mashing is still limited in terms of efficiency and production capacity. This study aims to validate the performance of a 10 kg/h potato mashing machine using SolidWorks Simulation and experimental testing. The simulation analyzed the machine frame, main shaft, pestle pulley, and pestle using the parameters of von Mises stress, displacement, and factor of safety. The simulation results showed that all components experienced stress below the material yield strength, exhibited minimal deformation, and had a factor of safety greater than 1, indicating safe operating conditions. Experimental testing showed that the machine achieved an average production capacity of 9.39 kg/h, equivalent to 93.90% of the designed capacity, with an average processing time of 64 minutes and an average power consumption of 268.03 W, or 71.86% of the motor's rated power of 373 W (0.5 HP). Based on the simulation and experimental results, the potato mashing machine was confirmed to be safe, reliable, and capable of operating effectively in accordance with its design objectives.

Abstract

Abstract The Mathematics Academic Competency Test is designed to assess students' mastery of conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). However, previous studies have mainly focused on assessment development and instructional effectiveness, with limited attention to the factors influencing students' TKA achievement from a qualitative perspective. This study aimed to explore the factors influencing students' Mathematics Academic Competency Test achievement at SMA Islam Assafiiyah Bekasi. A qualitative case study was conducted involving the school principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, mathematics teachers, and Grade XII students. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and TKA documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. Trustworthiness was established through triangulation, member checking, dependability, and confirmability. The findings revealed that students' TKA achievement was influenced by internal factors, including limited conceptual understanding, low learning motivation, inadequate problem-solving skills, and weak learning independence, as well as external factors, including insufficient HOTS-oriented instruction, limited TKA-based practice, and suboptimal use of learning resources. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening conceptual learning, HOTS-oriented instruction, and authentic assessment to improve students' readiness for competency-based mathematics assessment. Keywords: academic competency test, mathematics learning, higher-order thinking skills   Abstrak Tes Kompetensi Akademik (TKA) Matematika dirancang untuk mengukur penguasaan peserta didik terhadap pemahaman konsep, penalaran matematis, kemampuan pemecahan masalah, dan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi (Higher-Order Thinking Skills/HOTS). Abstract

Science at this time has entered the realm of development of positivism. This makes it a separator between what is called scientific and what is said to be unscientific in science and makes space science in the scientific world narrow with authoritative benchmarks. Therefore, this study uses a phenomenological approach according to the philosophy of science in order to get to the core of the problem and in-depth solutions related to the discussion of science. The method used in this research is a descriptive method in which to find meanings that sometimes the problems are combined into a narrative so that they can explain the core problems. And from this research, it can be gathered that one of the figures who criticizes positism is Thomas Khun. Thomas Khun invites researchers to switch to a pradigmatic perspective with this perspective being able to expand the scope of science in every aspect of life, including in the social field.

Abstract

Quality educational institutions correlate to the improvement of quality human resources. The better the quality of an educational institution, ideally it will produce good inputs, processes and outputs. Competition in the world of education that is so fast requires managers of educational institutions to think creatively, innovatively and responsively in maintaining and developing their institutions. One of the efforts that can be done is to implement strategic management in managing educational institutions to improve the quality of education. The purpose of this study is to describe strategic management in educational institutions. This type of research used is descriptive qualitative research with literature review method. The data analysis technique in this study refers to the opinion of Milles & Huberman, namely reducing data, presenting data so that it becomes information, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of strategic management can make the management of educational institutions more sensitive to external threats. At least strategic management can also prevent the emergence of various problems that come from inside and outside educational institutions and can also improve the ability of educational institutions to deal with problems. Strategic management will enable educational institutions to carry out all their operational activities in a more effective and efficient manner. Can make educational institutions easy to adapt to changes that occur. Educational institutions that use the concept of strategic management will be more profitable than educational institutions that do not apply it.

Abstract

Conventional quality assurance (QA) systems in Islamic schools often overlook spiritual and moral dimensions. This qualitative case study aims to analyze the implementation of akhlak-based quality management at an Islamic senior high school in Sukabumi, Indonesia, focusing on the integration of amanah, shidiq, and ihsan into QA cycles. Data were collected through interviews with 15 participants, 12 days of observation, and document analysis. The findings show that participatory annual planning, daily behavior monitoring, semester moral scoring, monthly review meetings, and parent surveys form a value-driven QA system. Strong principal leadership and a religious environment support implementation, while limited budget and uneven teacher competence are barriers. The impact includes improved student moral behavior and increased community trust, with accreditation rising from B to A. This study offers novelty by empirically operationalizing Islamic spiritual values (shura, muhasabah, uswah hasanah, muraqabah) into the PDCA quality cycle, which has been rarely explored in Islamic education management. The study concludes that akhlak-based QA effectively enhances both moral character and institutional quality, offering a replicable model for faith-based schools
