Abstract

The use of media in a variety of platforms, continues to increase globally. As it is, many problems arise, such as the increase in cyber crime, the number of lawsuits as well as an increase in people who are subject to the penalties for actions in the cyber world. This paper is the result of literature research on the study of media regulation trends. The focus of research aimed at: a) Current issues related to media policy in the global landscape, b) Trends on research issues of media studies, and c) an alternative method in the study of media regulation. The focus of research directed its relevance to the context of Indonesia. The study concluded that study of media regulation should aim to understand the current issues in the media, including efforts to find ideas solutif due to the development of a multi-dimensional global landscape, as well as issues that arise as a result of the user interaction media between the state and the nations. Trends issue generally highlighted are: 1) The policy of media, freedom of expression and citizenship, 2) media policy and institutional design, 3) media policy and the state media, as well as 4) the problems arising from the transformation of technology and global interactions. Recent developments in the media and global digital landscape has prompted numerous new problems, thus demanding the emergence of alternative methods, such as method of comparison or comparative studies and policy analysis method is based on a system perspective. Keywords: Media Studies, Media Policy, The Digital Era, Global Era ABSTRAK Penggunaan media dalam berbagai platform, terus meningkat secara global. Seiring hal tersebut, berbagai masalah muncul, seperti peningkatan kejahatan siber, jumlah tuntutan hukum serta peningkatan orang yang dikenai hukuman akibat tindakan di dunia siber. Makalah ini merupakan hasil penelitian kepustakaan mengenai tren kajian regulasi media. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada: a) persoalan-persoalan mutakhir terkait kebijakan media dalam lanskap global, b) Tren tentang isu-isu penelitian kajian media, serta c) Metode alternatif dalam kajian regulasi media. Fokus penelitian diarahkan relevansinya kepada konteks Indonesia. Kajian ini menyimpulkan bahwa, kajian regulasi media perlu diarahkan untuk memahami persoalan mutakhir pada media, termasuk upaya menemukan gagasan solutif akibat perkembangan multi dimensi dalam lanskap global, serta persoalan yang muncul akibat interaksi pengguna media antar negara dan bangsa. Tren isu yang umumnya disoroti adalah: 1) Kebijakan media, kebebasan berekspresi (freedom of expression) dan citizenship, 2) kebijakan media dan desain institusional, 3) Kebijakan media dan media pemerintah, serta 4) masalah-masalah yang muncul akibat transformasi teknologi dan interaksi global. Perkembangan mutakhir media dalam lanskap digital dan global telah memunculkan berbagai persoalan baru, sehingga menuntut lahirnya metode-metode alternatif, seperti metode perbandingan atau studi komparasi serta metode analisis kebijakan berdasarkan perspektif sistem. Abstract

To prevent unwanted social danger of the association of children outside the home, some parents build a specific strategy in raising children, to raise children in a social environment that is controlled parent.To limit the social pollution, parents in this category strictly limiting social affiliation or participation of children in social environments outside the home, or create social isolation of children while the formation of self-concept and character progress. This study uses a phenomenological approach, explore the everyday experience of informants about the concept of social isolation that they do to the child, during the formation of character and self-concept of children, or as it is called Berger and Luckmann during primary socialization. The results showed that the primary socialization period is a crucial moment in the formation of self-concept and character of a child. During this period, the social isolation and protection of the parents needs to be done so that the child can absorb the meanings and values espoused parents, without much intervention from other people. After the meanings and values of parents are fully internalized in the child, then the children are introduced to the wider social environment outside the protection of the parents. Social isolation and protection of the parents will be removed when the child has been able to take decisions in accordance with the values expected of parents and able to protect himself. This belief is making your child through primary socialization period longer than the other children, but the parents who developed this concept believe this strategy will create the self concept and character of the child becomes stronger against the influence of social pollution.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to see if there is a relationship between online learning and academic stress of students of the Masters Program of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University. This research is a quantitative study with the population being students of the Masters Program of the Faculty of Communication, Padjadjaran University who are running an online learning process, and the sample is 98 students. The process of collecting data in this study was by distributing online questionnaires using google form. The results of this study are that there is a significant relationship between online learning and work-life balance (H1), then there is a significant relationship between work-life balance and academic stress for Master Program students, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Padjadjaran University (H3), and there is also a relationship between There is a significant relationship between virtual meeting fatigue and academic stress for Master Program students of the Faculty of Communication, Padjadjaran University (H4).

Abstract

Literasi media digital merupakan kemampuan individu dalam menganalisis informasi yang berada di media digital. Kemampuan literasi media ini sangat penting bagi manusia khususnya mahasiswa untuk dapat mengidentifikasi informasi palsu yang mengecohkan, khususnya informasi tentang dunia kesehatan. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan, yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh literasi media digital terhadap identifikasi informasi palsu tentang vaksin Covid-19, untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh tersebut, serta dimensi apa yang sangat berpengaruh kuat dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh literasi media digital terhadap identifikasi informasi palsu tentang vaksin Covid-19 pada mahasiswa magister Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi, Universitas Padjadjaran dengan signifikansi sebesar 0,001 < 0,05. Besar pengaruh literasi media digital terhdapa identifikasi informasi palsu tentang vaksin Covid-19 sebesar 16,1%. Angka tersebut menunjukkan bahwa literasi digital masih cukup kurang. Pengaruh besar literasi media digital didapat dari dimensi critical consuming dengan hasil rata-rata 3,92 yang dalam kategori sangat tinggi. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan literasi media digital yang berpengaruh sangat besar adalah kemampuan dari dimensi critical consuming dengan menganalisis dan mengkritisi informasi yang didapat dari media digital.Kata Kunci: Media, literasi media digital, identifikasi informasi palsu.

Abstract

The development of technology, information, and communication requires print media specifically for local newspaper to keep up with the development of the digital era by conducting media convergence, the same thing was done by the local newspaper Kalteng Pos. This study aims to see how the strategies and models of media convergence are carried out by Kalteng Pos along with the elements of the media's political economy. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with data collection in the form of interviews, observations, and literature studies. The findings of this study are Kalteng Pos in its media convergence adopts the convergence continuum model, newsroom convergence model, and content convergence model. Then in relation to the political economy of the media, there are elements of commodification, spatialization, and structuration in media convergence from Kalteng Pos.

Abstract

Untuk mengetahui kualifikasi sumber daya manusia yang dibutuhkan dunia kerja, perguruan tinggi seyogyanya aktif melakukan pendekatan serta penelitian terhadap dunia kerja. Penelitian ini diarahkan untuk mengetahui serta merumuskan kualifikasi sumber daya manusia di bidang jurnalistik radio yang dibutuhkan oleh radio siaran dalam aspek pemahaman terhadap filosofi jurnalistik, karakter media, kemampuan mengolah pesan untuk siaran radio, serta pemahaman etika profesi.Penelitian dilakukan terhadap tiga stasiun radio siaran di Bandung yaitu Radio PR FM, Radio Republik Indonesia, dan Radio Litasari FM. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dimana data diperoleh melalui pengamatan dan wawancara mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwajurnalis radio yang dibutuhkan adalahyang memahami filosofi perannya sebagai pembawa pesan serta memahami karakteristik radio siaran agar optimal mengolah pesan untuk radio. Mereka juga  diharapkan dapat menjunjung tinggi etika profesi.  Sejalan dengan perkembangan teknologi berbasis internet,  para  jurnalis radio juga dituntut bekerja dalam pola kerja media konvergensi. Pengelola radio menyadari kesenjangan antara kondisi ideal dan real kualifikasi jurnalis radio,namun mengaku kesulitan mengatasinya. Kondisi ini menjadi tantangan sekaligus peluang bagi perguruan tinggi untuk menyediakan calon jurnalis radio dengan kualifikasi yang memadai.

Abstract

Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) had been the state media during the New Order era. However, since the fall of that regime in 1998, followed by the ratification of the Broadcasting Law Number 32 of 2002, RRI’s status changed to a public broadcasting institution (LPP). The change requires an organizational adaptation process which is not easy in practice. This study finds that communication can be both a driving factor and an obstacle to the adaptation process within the RRI organization. This research aims to explore the operationalization of communication in the adaptation process of the RRI and reveal how the flow of communication builds the relationship between members of the RRI organization; how organizational communication works in the learning process within the organization; and the dynamics of organizational learning in the adaptation process of the RRI organization. The results indicate that the dynamics of communication flows affect the organization’s communication climate. Meanwhile, organizational communication operates in several ways, namely: communication is a means to acquire as well as to conceal knowledge among RRI employees; communication helps the members of the organization understand a phenomenon from different perspectives; communication flows affect the distribution of communications; communication can be an accelerator as well as a barrier to organizational learning abilities. This study suggests further research on the role of communication to promote the internalization values of an organization into strategic decisions and concrete actions and the research on the roles of organizational culture and local culture in organizational adaptation.

Abstract

The use of micropayment methods in the journalism industry has proven to be well received by media audiences in Europe and the United States. Even so, there has been no further research over the consumption patterns of micropayment news audiences in Indonesia. This study aims to measure the visitors' motives of their interest in accessing Dailysocial.id as a micropayment news portal using Uses and Gratifications 2.0 theory which has a typology of MAIN (Modality, Agency, Interactivity and Navigability) model. Through a quantitative descriptive survey method, researcher processed data from 349 respondents who are Dailysocial.id's media audience. As a result, the Navigability motive is the most powerful reason that drives the audience to consume the media, followed by the Modality motive in the second place, Interactivity in the third place and Agency in the last place. Navigability plays as the biggest motive, showing that the audience accesses Dailysocial.id because they feel free to explore all the information on the site, so they feel entertained.  The entertained feeling is what makes the' fun' indicator being the main gratification that the audience is looking for when accessing Dailysocial.id.  In addition, it can be concluded that the majority of the audience (76%) tend to be interested in buying micro-paid articles. Meanwhile, the frequency and duration of access are the two things that most played a role in fulfilling the motives of interest for Dailysocial.id users. Penggunaan metode pembayaran mikro (micropayment) pada industri media telah terbukti disambut baik oleh khalayak media di Eropa dan Amerika Serikat. Meski begitu, belum ada penelitian lebih lanjut terkait pola konsumsi khalayak media di Indonesia terhadap metode pembayaran ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur seberapa besar motives pengunjung dalam ketertarikannya mengakses Dailysocial.id sebagai portal berita berbayar mikro dengan menggunakan Teori Uses and Gratifications 2.0 yang memiliki tipologi model MAIN (Modality, Agency, Interactivity dan Navigability. Melalui metode survei deskriptif penelitian kuantitatif, peneliti mengolah data dari 349 responden yang tergabung sebagai khalayak media Dailysocial.id. Hasilnya, motives Navigability menjadi alasan paling kuat yang mendorong khalayak mengonsumsi media tersebut, diikuti dengan motives Modality di urutan kedua, Interactivity di urutan ketiga dan Agency di urutan terakhir. Navigability menjadi motives terbesar menunjukkan bahwa khalayak mengakses Dailysocial.id karena dapat merasa bebas dalam mengeksplor segala informasi dalam situsnya, sehingga merasa terhibur. Perasaan terhibur itulah yang menjadikan indikator fun menjadi gratifikasi utama yang dicari khalayak ketika mengakses Dailysocial.id sebagai berita berbayar mikro. Selain itu, terbukti bahwa lebih mayoritas khalayak (76%) cenderung tertarik untuk membeli artikel berbayar mikro. Sementara itu, frekuensi dan durasi akses adalah dua hal yang paling berperan terhadap pemenuhan motives ketertarikan pengguna Dailysocial.id sebagai portal berita berbayar mikro.

Abstract

Instagram memiliki banyak fitur, salah satunya adalah fitur Instagram Reels yang kini menjadi cara penyebaran berita dalam format multimedia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motif khalayak dalam mengakses konten berita di Instagram Reels @narasinewsroom dengan menggunakan teori uses and gratifications 2.0 yang memiliki tipologi Model MAIN (Modality, Agency, Interactivity dan Navigability) oleh Sundar Limperos (2013). Dengan menggunakan metode survei deskriptif, peneliti mengolah data dari 348 responden yang tergabung dalam audiens Instagram @narasinewsroom. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa motif navigabilitas menjadi alasan paling kuat yang mendorong khalayak untuk mengkonsumsi media karena merasa dapat menjelajahi semua informasi yang ada di Instagram Reels @narasinewsroom dan memiliki keleluasaan dalam bernavigasi di platform tersebut. Disusul motif interaktivitas di urutan kedua, motif modalitas di urutan ketiga, dan motif agensi di urutan terakhir. Selain itu, temuan ini juga menyimpulkan bahwa fitur-fitur yang ada di Instagram yaitu Instagram Reels mampu memenuhi motif audiens ketika mengakses berita di Instagram. Instagram has numerous features, one of which is the Instagram Reels feature, now utilized as a means to distribute news in a multimedia format. This study aims to determine audience motives for accessing news content on Instagram Reels @narasinewsroom, employing The Uses and Gratifications 2.0 theory, which incorporates the MAIN Model (Modality, Agency, Interactivity, and Navigability) developed by Sundar Limperos (2013). Using a descriptive survey method, researchers processed data from 348 respondents who comprise the audience of Instagram @narasinewsroom. The study's results indicate that the navigability motive is the most potent reason that encourages audiences to consume the media, as they feel capable of exploring all the information on Instagram Reels @narasinewsroom and enjoy flexibility when navigating the platform. Interactivity motives rank second, followed by modality motives in third place, and agency motives in last place. Additionally, this finding concludes that Instagram's features, particularly Instagram Reels, effectively fulfill audience motives when accessing news on the platform.
