Abstract

Pneumonia is a leading cause of death among infants and toddlers worldwide, accounting for 14% of total deaths in this age group. Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) immunization is a routine program. By 2023, PCV immunization coverage in Selat Village reached 78.95%. This study examines the relationship between mothers' knowledge of PCV immunization and PCV immunization status in toddlers (1–2 years old) in Selat Village. Using a cross-sectional approach, the study was conducted from September to November 2024 with a total sampling technique involving 40 mothers with toddlers aged 1–2 years. Data were collected through questionnaires and verification of children's immunization status in the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbook. Data analysis included univariate analysis for frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using the fisher’s exact test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed a p-value = 0.000, indicating a significant relationship between mothers' knowledge and PCV immunization status. Mothers with good knowledge of PCV immunization are more likely to complete their children’s PCV immunization. Health workers should enhance public awareness, and future research should explore other factors affecting PCV immunization status

Abstract

Perineal rupture is one of the most common complications in normal labour. Infant birth weight is thought to play a role in determining the severity of perineal rupture. This study aims to analyse the relationship between baby's birth weight and the incidence of perineal rupture in mothers giving birth at RSUD Prof. Dr. W. Z Johannes Kupang. Observational research method with cross-sectional design, 46 respondents. Using secondary data with Spearman Rank statistical test. The results of the study were the majority of babies had normal birth weight (2500-4000 grams) by 73.9%, . Most mothers experienced grade 2 perineal rupture (60.9%). Analysis showed a significant association between infant birth weight and the incidence of perineal rupture (p-value = 0.001). Normal birth weight infants were more likely to cause grade 2 ruptures than low birth weight infants, who generally only cause grade 1 ruptures. The conclusion in this study is that infant birth weight affects the severity of perineal ruptures in normal labour. Infants with normal birth weight are more at risk of causing moderate perineal rupture

Abstract

Amenia can cause complications during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum. Around 40% of maternal deaths in developing countries are related to anemia in pregnancy. This study aims to determine the relationship between the characteristics of pregnant women and the incidence of anemia at the Haliwen Community Health Center, Kakuluk Mesak District, Belu Regency. This type of research is analytical research with a Cross Sectional Study approach, where the total population taken was 378 respondents. The research variables consist of independent variables, namely maternal age, gestational age, education, employment, pregnancy spacing, and CED, as well as the dependent variable, namely the incidence of anemia in pregnant women. The research instrument uses secondary data described in the questionnaire. The research results were analyzed using SPSS 21 with the Chi Square test method to determine the relationship between variables. There is a relationship between anemia and maternal age ƿ-value = 0.005, gestational age ƿ-value = 0.002, education ƿ-value = 0.000, pregnancy interval ƿ-value = 0.017, Parity ƿ- value = 0.017, Birth ƿ-value = 0.000 and there is no relationship between anemia and work ƿ-value = 0.238. There is a relationship between anemia and maternal age, gestational age, education, spacing, parity and CED. For work, it is not enough to affect the anemia condition of pregnant women. Health programs need to prioritize nutritional education for pregnant women
