Abstract

This study explores the use of nonverbal communication among employees with hearing disabilities at Isyarat Steam Motor Bandar Lampung. The study aims to understand how deaf employees interact with customers and managers using alternative communication strategies. As the importance of inclusion in the workplace increases, this study provides insights into how communication can be maintained effectively despite physical limitations. A qualitative method with a phenomenological approach was used to collect data through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Participants included deaf employees, customers, and business managers. The results showed that employees communicated nonverbally using BISINDO (Indonesian Sign Language), written messages, facial expressions, gestures, and mobile applications. These tools helped bridge communication gaps and supported smooth interactions in daily operations. Customers responded positively to these interactions, often expressing interest and appreciation for employees' ability to provide professional service. These findings confirm that nonverbal communication not only facilitates interactions in the workplace but also strengthens employees' sense of belonging and self-confidence. In conclusion, nonverbal communication plays a vital role in building an inclusive and respectful work environment, as well as promoting social and economic empowerment for people with disabilities

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis efektivitas strategi fear appeal dalam pemasaran produk cat di PT Jotun Indonesia. Persaingan yang semakin pesat dalam industri cat menuntut perusahaan untuk menjadi lebih kreatif dalam mengelola promosi guna meningkatkan volume penjualan dan loyalitas pelanggan. Penggunaan desain pesan fear appeal, yang memanfaatkan unsur rasa takut untuk menciptakan rasa urgensi, dianggap mampu menarik perhatian konsumen dan mendorong keputusan pembelian. Namun, penerapan strategi ini dalam industri cat, khususnya dalam konteks budaya Indonesia, masih jarang diteliti, karena penelitian sebelumnya lebih banyak berfokus pada produk kesehatan atau asuransi. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini penting untuk memahami dampak fear appeal terhadap perilaku konsumen serta mengoptimalkan strategi komunikasi pemasaran produk cat di pasar Indonesia.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency remains one of the major social problems continuously affecting Indonesia. Assuming that students spend approximately 8 to 9 hours at school, they interact more within the school environment than at home. Teachers and peers thus play a significant role in shaping students’ character. The purpose of this study is to synthesize school strategies in communicating with students to prevent violations at SMA Negeri 10 Bandar Lampung. This research employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through documentation, observation, and interviews, and analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model. The findings indicate that communication strategies are oriented toward maturity and empathy, conducted in a two-way manner, providing space for dialogue, gradual, non-intimidating, utilizing soundproof safe spaces, and based on student data. This approach is consistent with the principles of Social Penetration Theory, which emphasizes the depth and breadth of self-disclosure. The outcomes of this implementation include increased student openness, the establishment of trust, and more cooperative follow-up planning.

Abstract

Meningkatnya dinamika politik lokal di Indonesia, khususnya pada momentum elektoral, berimplikasi pada tingginya potensi konflik politik yang dapat mengganggu stabilitas keamanan dan kualitas demokrasi lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas Forum Kemitraan Polisi dan Organisasi Masyarakat (FKPM) dalam pencegahan konflik politik di Kota Bandar Lampung, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kinerjanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode eksploratif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi, dengan informan yang ditentukan secara purposive meliputi unsur kepolisian, organisasi masyarakat, tokoh masyarakat, serta Badan Kesatuan Bangsa dan Politik (Bakesbangpol) Kota Bandar Lampung. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa FKPM telah berperan sebagai wadah komunikasi dan koordinasi antara kepolisian dan organisasi masyarakat, namun efektivitasnya belum optimal karena masih bersifat formalistik dan administratif. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi efektivitas FKPM meliputi rendahnya partisipasi komunitas yang substantif, lemahnya kepercayaan dan legitimasi publik, keterbatasan komunikasi dan adaptasi terhadap dinamika politik digital, belum optimalnya koordinasi interinstitusional, keterbatasan kapasitas sumber daya manusia, serta mekanisme respon cepat yang masih reaktif. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan rekonstruksi FKPM menuju model kemitraan yang bersifat community- based dan deliberatif, dengan menempatkan kepolisian sebagai fasilitator yang netral dan memperkuat tata kelola keamanan kolaboratif guna mewujudkan stabilitas politik dan demokrasi lokal yang berkelanjutan di Kota Bandar Lampung

Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze public perceptions of the use of ferry ticket booking applications from Bakauheni Port to Merak Port. This study aims to determine the extent to which the innovation of the ferizy application is useful and helps some people in ordering ferry tickets online. Identifying the main obstacles and difficulties in ordering Ferizy applications, including the existence of ticket brokers. This study will use qualitative research methods, which include data collection techniques, such as surveys, interviews, or secondary data analysis. This approach was chosen to ensure that the data obtained is comprehensive and representative. The results of the study show that: The perception of Bakauheni-Merak ferry service users towards the Ferizy application varies, namely users feel the benefits of increased efficiency, comfort, and reduced queues. Factors that influence user perceptions in using the Ferizy application include performance expectations (application benefits), ease of use (user-friendliness), social influence, and facility conditions. The efforts of PT ASDP Bakauheni branch to increase the positive perception of Bakauheni-Merak ferry service users regarding ticket purchase innovations through the application aim to reduce congestion, queues at ports, and scalping practices, as well as provide a smoother and more comfortable experience for service users on the Merak-Bakauheni route.

Abstract

The research method used is qualitative descriptive research. This method is used to describe the effectiveness of Land and Building Tax (PBB) Collection Through an Online Application in Tejo Agung Village, Metro Timur District, Metro City. All data were obtained directly from informants in the field using interviews and document studies. The research results show that the effectiveness of Land and Building Tax (PBB) collection through online applications in Tejo Agung Village is influenced by several inhibiting aspects that can be classified based on the following dimensions: (1) Time unit dimension, where the collection process is hampered by limited technology and network infrastructure, resulting in slow access and data processing, resulting in suboptimal service times. (2) Results unit dimension, where low taxpayer participation in utilizing online applications and a lack of outreach results in less than optimal tax revenue realization and difficulties in achieving the expected targets. (3) Meanwhile, in the work quality dimension, limited competency and motivation of officials in managing online applications, along with an increased workload, impact inadequate service quality, thereby reducing the overall effectiveness of tax collection.

Abstract

Background: Mental health recovery requires approaches that extend beyond clinical services by integrating psychosocial support, community engagement, and economic empowerment. Individuals in the recovery process continue to face social stigma, limited access to inclusive rehabilitation services, and barriers to social and economic reintegration. Pesantren possess social capital and cultural legitimacy that position them as potential settings for community-based rehabilitation. Purpose of the Study: This community service program aimed to enhance psychosocial functioning, creative capacity, social participation, and economic readiness among post-rehabilitation santri at Pondok Pesantren Jolo Sutro, Central Lampung, through eco-print–based creative therapy. Methods: The program employed a community-based rehabilitation approach implemented through five sequential mentoring phases, including initial assessment, introduction to creative activities, eco-print practice, process reflection, and sustainability strengthening. Evaluation was conducted using a performance-based assessment rubric to assess technical and psychosocial outcomes. Results: The assessment results showed scores ranging from 3 to 5, with a mean score of 4.0. Two indicators reached the highly proficient category, four indicators were classified as developing proficiency, and two indicators fell under basic emerging skills. These findings indicate consistent progress toward moderate to high levels of creativity and ecoprint technical mastery. The program was also associated with strengthened personal capacity, improved emotional regulation, enhanced social interaction, and the initiation of a pesantren-based eco-print business unit.

Abstract

High exposure to diverse content on TikTok plays a significant role in shaping the identity of Generation Z students. Through continuous interaction with trends, challenges, and viral content, students are exposed to new values, norms, and communication styles that may influence how they perceive themselves and others. This process contributes to the formation of their mindset, interpersonal communication patterns, and ways of expressing emotions and opinions. As a result, TikTok becomes a social space where identity is constructed, negotiated, and displayed. However, this phenomenon also raises important concerns. The values and behaviors promoted on TikTok do not always align with the values instilled by family environments and educational institutions. Differences between online cultural trends and offline social norms may create tension in students’ identity development. They are often required to negotiate between expectations from their digital communities and the norms upheld by parents, teachers, and schools. Therefore, the main issue addressed in this study is how Generation Z students absorb, interpret, and adapt the influence of TikTok in the process of personal identity formation, and how this process interacts with family and school values. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk dukungan yang diberikan anggota keluarga dalam mengatasi keterlambatan komunikasi (delay) pada anak Down Syndrome serta kondisi yang membuat anak merasa nyaman dan aman dalam berkomunikasi. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan desaun studi kasus digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam dan anlisis dokumentasi terhadap enam keluarga yang memiliki anak Down Syndrome berusia 4 hingga 9 tahun di PIK POTADS Lampung. Hasil penelitian menemukan lima dimensi dukungan keluarga, yaitu dukungan emosional, informasional, instrumental, penilaian dan sosial. Dukungan emosional dan informasional diberikan oleh seluruh informan (100%), menunjukkan bahwa menciptakan lingkungan yang penuh kasih saying sekaligus aktif mencari pengetahuan merupakan fondasi utama yang diterapkan seluruh keluarga. Penelitian juga mengodentifikasi empat kondisi yang membuat anak merasa nyaman berkomunikasi, yaitu suasana rumah yang tenang, interaksi tatap muka dengan ibu, rutinitas harian terstruktur dan penggunaan media visual. Temuan ini memberikan panduan praktisi bagi keluarga dan komunitas dalam mendampingi anak Down Syndrome secara lebih efektif dan suportif.
