Abstract

Feminism is a series of activities in various fields such as social, political, and ideological activities with the aim of achieving gender equality in all aspects of life such as social, political, and economic. Film is a mass communication tool that can be used as a medium in the feminist movement, the messages and ideologies contained in a film can influence the audience both in terms of cognitive, affective, and conative. Mulan is a film adapted from a Chinese folk tale. Mulan tells the story of a brave woman, a determined warrior named Hua Mulan. The character of Hua Mulan carries a message of feminism. A woman is described as an independent and responsible figure, in contrast to women usually only described as a weak figure, and always in need of protection from men. The research is a qualitative research with data analysis techniques using the semiotic method with an analytical knife using the theory of television codes by John Fiske. This study aims to find out how to represent feminism in the film Mulan, hence the semiotic code of feminism at the level of reality, level of representation, and level of ideology. The results of the research show that the Film Mulan shows the values of Feminism at the level of reality through the code of appearance, costume, makeup, environment, behavior, dialogue, movement, and expression. In the representation level, feminism is shown through camera codes, characters, actions, and dialogues. At the ideological level, feminism values are represented through liberal feminism, radical feminism, and Psychoanalysis and gender ideology.

Abstract

The background of this research is the presence of the serial film Upin Ipin is one of the da'wah strategies that can convey messages of kindness to others. Because in the Upin Ipin series there are many moral values, which invite goodness. The purpose of this research is to describe the moral values in the television series Upin Ipin among children. In this study, the theory used is social learning theory (Albert Bandura) which is an individual's cognitive process that plays a role in learning. with the stages of attention, memory, reproduction, and motivational. From the results of research on the Upin Ipin series, there are several moral values that teach us, especially children who watch to always do good and perform fardhu prayers, Koran, taraweh and fasting in the month of Ramadan. Thus, children who watch the Upin Ipin series will pay attention to behavior and words and imitate or imitate the behavior found in the series. From the results of the analysis, there are three moral values contained in the Upin Ipin series, including moral values towards God (taqwa), moral values towards family (obedience to parents, mutual love), moral values towards society (tolerance and friendliness to friends). The conclusion from the results of this study is the positive value that can be drawn from the Upin Ipin serial program, namely in the aspect of moral values, this event shows learning with social learning theory used, children can pay attention to the Upin Ipin serial they watch, and they can learn various things, especially in religion, namely prayer, taraweh, fasting, by paying attention to the behavior in the series. Children remember in their memory the positive lessons in the series and will practice them in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the meaning of the message of human relations with themselves and others in the film "Sejuta Sayang Untuknya". This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques namely observation, documentation and literature study. The theoretical basis used is Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis consisting of denotation, connotation and myth. The results of the study indicate that the meaning of the message of human relations with himself is: (a) work ethic which is divided into 5, namely working lawfully, studying hard, being disciplined, being responsible, adhering to principles. (b) imitating signatures, (c) forgiving, (d) honest which is divided into 2, namely honest in words and honest in deeds. The meaning of the message of human relations with each other is: (a) manners which are divided into 3, namely with older people, talking to parents, greeting when visiting and meeting. (b) please help, (c) be rude to parents, (d) say thank you.

Abstract

This study aims to see the representation of obsession by showing repetitive thoughts and being obsessed with getting something desired. The methodology used in this study is descriptive qualitative with Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method consisting of denotation, connotation and myth. Through the selection of scenes in which there were elements of obsessive violence, there is an obsession between mysterious men and women, indicated by various kinds of physical violence, such as murder, cutting off organs, hands and feet, and drugging women. A mysterious man is obsessed with a woman named Jo Kyung Min because he has a feeling of wanting to be near her. This violence also illustrates the distance from the norms of truth, ethics, and disrespect for others. Judging from the obsessive violence carried out by the man involving the closest person to Jo Kyung Min, his best friend at work and the person above his apartment being victims of physical violence, this mysterious man has psychopathic thoughts, and the desire of a man to add a woman against the opposite sex but unseen, so he does a strange thing which is to try to enter Jo Kyung Min's apartment and sleep next to her, because of an uncontrollable desire.

Abstract

The Youth and Sports Office of Bengkulu City is a selection committee for Paskibraka candidates which is carried out every year. The assessment of post-baraka candidates consists of 8 aspects, namely Parade, PBB, Psychotest, Samapta/Physical, Health and Fitness, Interview, Regional Arts, and General Knowledge (data attached). The results of the assessment will be recapitulated to determine which participants succeeded in passing and which participants failed to pass, so that from this recapitulation it can be announced at the end of the selection activity. The analysis of the sensitivity test for the selection of paskibraka admissions using the TOPSIS method and the Promethee method at the Bengkulu City Youth and Sports Office was carried out by comparing the final results obtained from the two methods based on the assessment data of each paskribraka candidate. The analysis is done by looking at the number of criteria used, the processing time and also the ranking results. In helping the process of comparative analysis of the two methods, an application was built using the Visual Basic .Net programming language. where the application will show the results of the comparison of the TOPSIS and Promethee methods. Based on the tests that have been carried out, the results show that the application functionality can run well and is able to display the results of the assessment on each prospective paskibraka according to the stages of the TOPSIS and Promethee methods, in terms of processing time the TOPSIS method is faster than the Promethee method.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the Performance of the Headman division of Religious Affairs Office (KUA) Singaran Pati Sub-District, Bengkulu City (Study at the KUA Office Singaran Pati Sub-District, Bengkulu City). The research method uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. As an analytical tool in conducting this research, the researcher used Wibowo's theory of performance management which consists of seven indicators, namely goals, standards, feedback, tools or means, competencies, opportunities and motives. Informants consist of key informants, totaling nine people. Data were collected using interview techniques, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the purpose of the headman division is to reduce the level of underage marriage by socializing Law No. 16 of 2019 to the general public. The standard from the division is to work according to the SOP and TUPOKSI applicable at the KUA, Singaran Pati sub-district, Bengkulu City. Feedback from the division in reducing the level of child marriage is very good based on the policy of the Ministry of Religion and the input given by the head of the KUA. The tools or facilities for the division in reducing the level of child marriage, seen from other facilities, are not yet adequate. The competencies possessed by the division are in accordance with the standards set by Law No. 16 of 2019 concerning the age limit for marriage. The opportunities from the division in reducing the level of child marriages are to provide opportunities for employees to promote brochures on the dangers of marrying under the age of 19. The motive of the division in reducing the level of age marriage, is the existence of a decree from the Ministry of Religion to disseminate information on the prevention of child marriage based on Law No. in terms of performance, it is quite good, but the researcher found findings that have an impact on the performance of KUA Singaran Pati Sub-District headman, where there are still minors who are still doing underage marriages, this is due to promiscuity and many are pregnant out of wedlock so that the parties of KUA Singaran Pati Sub-District Bengkulu City must marry off the couple.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the perspective of millennials in the city of Bengkulu on the phenomenon of artist vlog content. Data collection techniques that researchers use are interviews, documentation and observation. The data collection technique was purposive sampling by taking five informants from the millennial generation of Bengkulu city. After the data was obtained, it was analyzed using a descriptive qualitative study where the researcher conducted interviews with each informant for completeness of the data. This study uses the Merleau-Ponty perceptual phenomenology theory. The results of the research and discussion show that the millennial generation has the same perspective on the phenomenon of artist vlog content.

Abstract

This study aims to find out positive imaging in the protocol activities of Bengkulu City Regional Secretariat. The research method used is descriptive qualitative data collection techniques based on observation, interviews, and documentation. Research informants were determined using purposive sampling method, namely three informants, a key informant and two main informants. In this study, positive imaging is analyzed based on the type of image according to Frank Jefkins, namely mirror image, current image, multiple image, corporate image and expected image (wish image) associated with protocol activities that have been carried out. The results showed that the protocol activities in the Regional Secretariat of Bengkulu City have a positive image, this can be seen from any protocol activities carried out always producing a positive impact or opinion from the leadership and the community. Positive imaging is done more to the expected image (wish image), meaning that the protocol activities are in accordance with what is expected by the leadership and the community. Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, lectures at Unived Bengkulu were conducted online. One of the media used to facilitate online communication during lectures is google classroom. Lecturing through google classroom is a new innovation for lecturers and students who previously lectured face to face and then conducted online. To find out the use of online communication media, google classroom in lectures at Unived Bengkulu during the Covid-19 pandemic, the author uses the characteristics of innovation from Everett M. Rogers which has five characteristics that can affect the level of use of an innovation, namely relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The technique of determining informants using purposive sampling, the informants consisted of three lecturers and nine students. The results of the study state that based on the characteristics of its relative advantage, google classroom is a flexible, simple and efficient medium. Based on the characteristics of compatibility, Google Classroom is considered suitable for use during this pandemic, because Google Classroom can be accessed anywhere and anytime that is connected to the internet. Complexity is felt in difficult networks, especially in rural areas. Based on observations during the trial in the early semester, this media can be reused in the following semester. The use of online communication media google classroom in lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic at Dehasen Bengkulu University ran smoothly and was suitable to be applied during the Covid-19 period, even though constraints with network, but this could be overcome because it had a deadline given by the lecturer.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the ethics of student communication to lecturers and student ethics to fellow students in online learning through the zoom application for students of the Faculty of Social Sciences. This research method is fleld research with a qualitative approach. The data was collected by means of observation, interview and documentation techniques. The theory used in this study is Burhannudin Salam's Communicating Ethics, descriptive and normative. Descriptive Ethics is about values and patterns of human behavior as a fact, while Normative Ethics talks about norms or rules that guide human behavior. The sources of this research were students and students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dehasen University Bengkulu. The results show that there are still some people who do not follow the rules and ethics of student communication to lecturers during lectures through the zoom application, while the ethics of students towards fellow students when taking lectures through the zoom application is quite good even though there are still some students who still do not use ethics properly to fellow students during lectures through the zoom application in progress.
