Abstract

Pendidikan dan teknologi menjadi dua aspek yang berkolaborasi dalam menciptakan media guna mendukung kegiatan belajar mengajar yang inovatif dan interaktif. Implementasi media yang sesuai dapat menciptakan iklim pembelajaran yang interaktif dengan memfasilitasi kemampuan siswa secara optimal. Oleh karena itu, media pembelajaran yang menarik memberikan peningkatan antusias peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi kelayakan media pembelajaran, hasil belajar, dan respon yang ditunjukkan peserta didik dalam mengimplementasikan media pembelajaran interaktif tata rias wajah sehari-hari. Pendekatan penelitian ini menerapkan R&D dari Borg & Gall melibatkan 8 tahap meliputi (1) identifikasi potensi dan permasalah, (2) pengumpulan data, (3) desain, (4) validasi, (5) revisi desain, (6) uji coba, (7) revisi produk, dan (8) uji coba implementasi. Sumber data berjumlah 30 peserta didik Double Track Tata Rias di SMA Muhammadiyah 8 Gresik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) kelayakan dan kualitas media pembelajaran interaktif mendapatkan rata-rata 4,53 bermakna "sangat baik", 2) hasil belajar yang diperoleh melalui tes menunjukkan rata-rata 89,06 dengan tingkat ketuntasan 100%, dan 3) Respon peserta didik saat mengimplementasikan media pembelajaran ini memperoleh rata-rata nilai 4,41 atau "sangat baik". Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif tata rias wajah dalam keseharian layak diterapkan. Kata Kunci: Media Pembelajaran Interaktif, Tata Rias Wajah Sehari- Hari

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between the knowledge level of UNESA cosmetics students and their attitudes toward sunscreen use. This quantitative correlational research involved 64 cosmetics education students from UNESA who had taken cosmetology courses. Purposive sampling was employed, and data collection utilized questionnaires distributed to respondents. Product moment correlation analysis measured the relationship between knowledge and attitudes. Results showed 93.53% of respondents demonstrated high knowledge, while 70.23% exhibited inadequate attitudes toward sunscreen use. Pearson correlation (2-tailed) yielded 0.0001, with a strength coefficient of 0.657, indicating significant and strong correlation between knowledge and attitudes. Therefore, a strong relationship exists between UNESA cosmetics students' knowledge and their attitudes toward sunscreen use. Keywords: Knowledge, Attitude towards Use, Sunscreen.

Abstract

From observation activities at Surabaya State University, it was discovered that students used more skincare cosmetics for every facial problem they each experienced, this had an effect on student motivation. This research aims to examine the use of skincare cosmetics on student motivation. The approach used is descriptive with quantitative methods. The population in this study were students from the 2022 class of PKK class with a sample of students who had glowing or problematic facial skin, the sample taken was 30% of the total number. The research instrument is a questionnaire instrument with data analysis using percentages and one sample t-test. The research results showed that students' motivation towards using skincare cosmetics using a questionnaire distributed via gform showed an average of 73.66% with the good category consisting of topics: encouragement of the need to own the product, encouragement of the need to use the product, encouragement to support appearance, encouragement to trends in the social environment and encouragement of product craze.

Abstract

Professionalism is an attitude that is carried out when carrying out a profession that is not based only on filling free time and pursuing hobbies alone. Professionalism can be interpreted as the knowledge that is possessed when carrying out a job. Every individual definitely wants success, whether success in terms of career, study, friendship, family, and others. The first step to success is to understand yourself and your qualities. Understanding yourself and your qualities is very important. So that we can understand ourselves and our qualities, we need to form a self-concept or what is known as self-concept. The objectives of this research are 1) to describe the professionalism of male make up artists. 2) to explain the self-concept of male make up artists. 3) Factors underlying the professionalism of male Make Up Artists. This research adoption descriptive qualitative approach which cover collection data, reduction data, presentation of data and conclusions. The respondents for this research consisted of 5 male makeup artists in Surabaya. This research method uses interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the research that has been carried out are 1) From several informants who have been researched to gain professionalism, these informants do several things such as courses, beauty schools, and privately at several professionals as well 2) There are things that influence self-concept, namely self-image, self-ideal, self-esteem, self-role, and self-identity. There are also factors that influence self-concept which consist of self-appraisal, reaction and response of others, roles you take, reference groups. 3) Factors that influence the performance of this male Make Up Artist are the self-concept that has been formed since childhood and the surrounding circumstances.   Keywords: Profesionalism, Self Concept, Factor of Profesionalism, Make Up Artist.

Abstract

Tata rias pengantin Solo ialah bagian dari warisan budaya yang mencakup rias wajah, penataan rambut, busana, serta aksesoris tradisional. Salah satu elemen penting dalam tata rias wajah ialah penggunaan eyeshadow pakem yang mencerminkan nilai-nilai budaya. Seiring berkembangnya tren kecantikan, teknik cut crease mulai banyak dipergunakan sebagai bentuk modifikasi modern, khususnya untuk menciptakan efek lipatan kelopak mata yang lebih tegas pada mata monolid, yakni mata tanpa lipatan kelopak ganda. Untuk menyesuaikan bentuk mata tersebut, diperlukan teknik aplikasi eyeshadow yang berbeda. Kajian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hasil riasan mata monolid memakai eyeshadow pakem, mengevaluasi hasil dengan teknik cut crease, serta menganalisis perbedaan antara keduanya dalam konteks tata rias pengantin Solo Putri Tradisional. Kajian ini mempergunakan pendekatan eksperimen dengan melibatkan 30 observer sebagai penilai hasil riasan. Dari hasil penelitian, diketahui jika penggunaan eyeshadow pakem pada mata monolid menghasilkan nilai rata-rata 3,4 yang termasuk kategori baik. Sementara itu, penggunaan teknik cut crease memperoleh nilai rata-rata 3,1 yang juga masuk dalam kategori baik. Meski keduanya memberi hasil yang cukup baik, terdapat perbedaan signifikan di antara keduanya, dengan nilai signifikansi sejumlah 0,016 (<0,05). Hal ini mempelihatkan jika eyeshadow pakem menghasilkan tampilan riasan yang lebih baik dibandingkan teknik cut crease pada pengantin Solo Putri Tradisional.

Abstract

Currently, many people use make-up as the main support for their profession, one of which is the product catalog model that makes make-up the main thing, so a perfect appearance is needed and gives a good impression to support the value of the product worn. This study aims to determine the difference in the results of the comparison of the proportion of liquid and cream foundations on the results of make-up on the product catalog model with oily skin types, using 2 samples of foundation proportions with different ratios of liquid and cream foundations. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study with a quasi-experimental design of the one-shot case study type. The subjects of the study were 30 people, consisting of 3 make-up lecturers, 27 make-up experts or active students of make-up education at the State University of Surabaya. The data collection technique used an instrument sheet/questionnaire to assess the results of make-up with indicators of coverage, smoothness, evenness, durability, photo results and observer preferences. The results of the study obtained an average score of aspects that were averaged of 3.2 in sample X1 (proportion of foundation 2gr liquid: 2gr cream) and 3.57 in sample X2 (proportion of foundation 1gr liquid: 3gr cream). The calculation of statistical test results shows a Mann Whitney U value of 213.500 and a significance value (Asymp, Sig. 2-tailed) of less than 0.001 (p < 0.05). So there is a significant difference between sample data X1 and sample data X2 with sample data X2 having a higher score than sample data X1.

Abstract

Education is a systematic effort to create an active, participatory, and meaningful learning process. This study has three main objectives, namely: (1) to determine the level of implementation of the inquiry learning model in learning activities; (2) to identify student learning outcomes after the model is implemented; and (3) to reveal student responses to the process of implementing the inquiry learning model on acne facial skin care competencies at SMK Labschool UNESA Surabaya. The type of research is One Group Pretest and Posttest Design. The subjects of the study were 34 students. Data were collected using observation methods in the form of the implementation of the learning process, tests in the form of cognitive tests and student response questionnaires. The results of the study obtained (1) the implementation of the inquiry learning model obtained an overall average of 3.85 categorized as very good, (2) hypothesis testing with a Sig. value (2-tailed) obtained 0.000 <0.05, so it is said that the inquiry learning model has a significant effect on increasing student learning outcomes and (3) student responses showed a mean of 94% in the very good category. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that the application of the inquiry learning model has a positive effect on improving student learning outcomes. In addition, student responses to the competence of acne facial skin care are classified as very good, which shows that the inquiry model is able to create a more effective, interesting, and appropriate learning process for students' needs. Abstract

The integration of digital technology in vocational education has become increasingly essential, particularly in practical learning that requires clear visualization of work procedures. This study aimed to examine the feasibility of Nail Art instructional videos developed through the TikTok social media platform, analyze improvements in students’ cognitive learning outcomes, and identify students’ responses to the implementation of the media in the hand and foot care competency at SMKN 1 Buduran. This research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental One Group Pretest–Posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 36 eleventh-grade students of the Beauty Education program. The research instruments included expert validation sheets to assess media feasibility, pretest and posttest to measure cognitive learning outcomes, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the TikTok-based Nail Art instructional video was categorized as highly feasible, with an average score of 4.67. Students’ cognitive learning outcomes improved significantly, as indicated by an average posttest score of 84.6, with all students achieving learning mastery. Statistical analysis revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference in learning outcomes before and after the use of the instructional media. Furthermore, students’ responses to the TikTok-based learning media were classified as very positive, with a response rate exceeding 95%. These findings indicate that TikTok-based Nail Art instructional videos are feasible and effective as innovative learning media to enhance learning outcomes and student engagement in vocational practical learning. Abstract

Surabaya ranks 9th in Southeast Asia and 44th globally in the TomTom Traffic Index, with an average travel time of ±22 minutes for a 10 km distance, longer than Jakarta’s ±20 minutes. Given these traffic conditions, this study examines the application of the K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithm to predict vehicle travel distance based on remaining fuel consumption and provides recommendations for the nearest Gas Station (SPBU) based on the predicted distance. The study seeks to provide accurate distance predictions and recommend the nearest Gas Station (SPBU) for users based on fuel consumption and the predicted route, helping to navigate Surabaya’s congested traffic efficiently. The data used includes various levels of fuel consumption: 0.02, 0.06, 0.10, 0.14, 0.16, 0.20, and 0.24 liters for engines of 110, 125, and 150 cc. The model evaluation results, using three metrics: MAE, MAPE, and RMSE show that KNN performs excellently at low fuel consumption levels. At a consumption rate of 0.02 liters, the model produces a low MAE of 0.347, MAPE of 31.21%, and RMSE of 0.40, indicating minimal prediction error. The model's performance remains consistent at a consumption of 0.06 liters with MAE of 0.330, MAPE of 9.90%, and RMSE of 0.41, demonstrating a high level of accuracy. Technically, the implementation of this model can help reduce traffic congestion by directing vehicles to the nearest gas stations, thereby minimizing sudden stops on the road, improving traffic flow, and reduce wasted time spent searching for distant gas stations.
