Abstract

Getting older means increasing health problems faced. The degenerative process in the elderly causes a decrease in physical, psychological and social conditions. Hypertension is a disease that has a very close relationship with the elderly. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase knowledge about the importance of a healthy lifestyle called SEHATI (Sehat Tanpa Hipertensi) among the elderly at the Jambangan nursing home Surabaya. This community service was held on July 8, 2020 at the Jambangan Nursing Home in Surabaya, which was attended by 56 elderly people. The method used is through counseling and blood pressure checks. Counseling uses lecture and question and answer methods. Most of the elderly are female (73.2%), most (73.2%) are aged 60-74 years, almost half (42.9%) have first-degree hypertension (140-159/90-99mmHg). Before counseling as many as 14% of the elderly knew about hypertension and how to prevent it, and after this activity as many as 88% of the elderly experienced an increase in knowledge. Providing education can improve a healthy lifestyle, so that people are more aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle so that blood pressure can be controlled properly.

Abstract

Information that is not true or commonly called a "hoax" about the Covid-19 vaccine circulating in the community makes people restless and confused, and if this is not addressed immediately, more and more people refuse to be vaccinated. Health cadres have a role in educating the public about Covid-19 vaccination, but in reality their activities have been inactive during the pandemic. The ability to conduct health education by utilizing technology is still lacking, so it is necessary to provide training on how to conduct health education to cadres. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge and readiness of health cadres in an effort to increase knowledge and readiness of the community to receive the Covid-19 vaccination through the ASIVa (Aku Siap Vaksin) program. The method used in this community service activity is a participative educational approach, namely providing health education to cadres about the Covid-19 vaccine and training on how to use technology for health promotion. This activity was carried out for one month and was attended by ten health cadres. The results of community service show that the knowledge of the cadres is very good, skilled and interactive in carrying out health education.

Abstract

Complications experienced by DM patients will affect the patient's quality of life. Efforts that can be done to maintain the quality of life, one of which is by lifestyle management. This training is expected to increase the knowledge and skills of health cadres in teaching lifestyle management to improve the quality of life of people with diabetes mellitus. The method used in this community service activity is to provide health counseling. This activity was carried out for one month and was attended by 15 cadres and 50 people with DM. Quality of life is measured by DQOL (Diabetes Quality of Life). After one month of service, it was found that 98% of the quality of life of people with DM increased (good). Lifestyle management can maintain the quality of life of people with DM through maintaining stable blood sugar levels

Abstract

Positive cases of covid-19 will still exist if the community is negligent in implementing health protocols and inappropriate information related to continued or booster doses of Covid-19 vaccination in the community can cause doubt and anxiety, and if this is not immediately addressed then the community refuses to do so. booster vaccination because they feel that only one vaccination is enough. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase knowledge and health behavior in implementing the 6M (Mencuci Tangan, Memakai Masker, Menjaga Jarak, Menjauhi Kerumunan, Menjaga Pola Makan Sehat, Istirahat Cukup, dan Mengurangi Mobilitas) and willing to take further doses of Covid-19 vaccination. The method used in this activity is to provide health education to cadres and the public about the importance of implementing 6M and the Covid-19 booster vaccination. This community service activity was carried out for one week, attended by 65 health cadres and the community. The results of this community service activity show an increase in knowledge about the application of health protocols and the importance of the Covid-19 booster vaccination and the community is very enthusiastic about participating in this activity.
