Abstract

Identifikasi dengan cara survey deskriptif dilakukan untuk identifikasi ada tidaknya boraks, formalin dan pewarna berbahaya pada makanan yang dijual oleh pedagang di Kelurahan Gebang Putih, Kelurahan Keputih dan lingkungan ITS ini merupakan bagian dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berbasis penelitian. Sampel kios makanan diambil secara purposive dan accidental sampling dengan total 100 kios. Kandungan boraks, formalin dan pewarna berbahaya dianalisis secara kualitatif menggunakan test kit. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan terdapat 3 sampel kios makanan yang positif menghidangkan makanan yang mengandung boraks; 2 sampel kios makanan yang menyajikan bakso dan mie mengandung formalin dan terdapat 1 sampel kios minuman yang positif mengandung pewarna berbahaya bagi kesehatan. Terhadap sampel kios penjual makanan dan minuman yang positif terindikasi boraks, formalin dan pewarna berbahaya, diberikan konseling dan bimbingan serta pengarahan tentang bahan alternatif pengganti yang aman untuk kesehatan.

Abstract

MOF-5 (metal-organic frameworks-5) have been synthesized using solvotermal method in which reaction mixtures of zinc nitrate hexahydrate and benzenedicarboxylic acid in dimethylformamide were heated at various heating temperatures and times in order to obtain the best reaction conditions for the synthesis of MOF-5. The heating temperatures used were 105, 120 and 140 °C, respectively with heating times of 12-144 hours. Determination of the best reaction conditions was based on the observation of phase purity and crystal morphology of MOF-5 using XRD and SEM. The characterization results showed that optimization of MOF-5 crystals were obtained when the reaction mixtures were heated at 105 °C for 144 h, 120 °C for 24 h and 140 °C for 12 h. The maximum weight of MOF-5 crystal was generated from reaction mixture heated at 120 °C for 72 h.

Abstract

The basic concept of the use of catalysts can be studied in the course of chemical catalysts. The use of heterogeneous catalysts offers many advantages, such as: the catalyst can be easily separated from the reaction mixture without the use of solvent. Chemical catalyst can be studied through experiments of esterification reaction of waste cooking oil with methanol using heterogeneous catalyst in the process of making biodiesel. Esterification results showed that the highest conversion (83%) was obtained by metakaolin catalyst at a reaction temperature of 160 °C for 2 hours at oil to methanol ratio of 1:30.

Abstract

Usaha untuk merubah citra Dolly dan Jarak sebagai eks-lokalisasi yang dulunya terkenal dan terbesar se-Asia Tenggara di Kelurahan Putat Jaya, Kecamatan Sawahan, Kota Surabaya, tidak pernah henti dilakukan. Menjadikan daerah Dolly dan Jarak sebagai kampung Wisata Edukasi yang mumpuni serta menopang pokok ekonomi, merupakan impian seluruh warga beserta Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Surabaya. Pada kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat berbasis Penelitian kali ini, pengabdi berupaya untuk melakukan diversifikasi produk olahan rumput laut berupa aneka makanan beku yang praktis, sehat dan higienis.

Abstract

Hong Kong University of Science and Technology-1 (HKUST-1) is metal organic framework (MOF) that composed from ligand BTC (1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylic) and copper ions. The method used in this study is solvotermal with variations nickel ion doping and additions acetic acid as modulator. The purpose of this study is to increase the hydrogen storage capacity. The results obtained were characterized by XRD showed that the HKUST-1 and Ni-HKUST-1 has formed, showed by peaks at 2 theta = 6.7, 9.5, 11.6, 13.4, and 19.0.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat berbasis penelitian ITS yang dilakukan di daerah Eks-lokalisasi Dolly Surabaya bertujuan untuk membantu meningkatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi masyarakat di wilayah tersebut. Rangkaian kegiatan penelitian ini meliputi pengujian kandungan gizi yang terdapat pada produk minuman sari rumput laut setelah dilakukan modifikasi penambahan beras merah. Komposisi yang diperoleh adalah Energi = 353 kkal; Protein = 7,4 gr; Lemak = 0,7 gr; Karbohidrat  = 76,1 gr; Kalsium = 13 mg; Fosfor = 359 mg; Zat Besi = 4,5 mg; Vitamin B1 = 0,35 mg; B6 0,4 mg ; Vitamin E 0,2 mg; Vitamin K 1,3 µg; Kalsium 19,6 mg; Zat Besi 0,9 mg; Magnesium 83,7 mg; Kalium 83,9 mg; Sodium 9,9 mg; Seng 1,3 mg; Tembaga 0,3 mg; Mangan 1,9 mg; Selenium 19,4 µg.

Abstract

Potensi Kelurahan Keputih Kecamatan Sukolilo Wilayah Surabaya Timur yang mempunyai tambak dengan luas mencapai 1.278 ha; menjadikannya salah satu tempat konservasi. Bandeng organik sebagai produk unggulan di Kelurahan Keputih mempunyai peluang besar untuk dibudidayakan dan dikembangkan. Bandeng organik sebagai produk unggulan tambak di Kelurahan Keputih sangat besar manfaatnya guna meningkatkan penghasilan dan sumber gizi yang sangat baik. Hingga saat ini tingkat perekonomian petambak di Kelurahan Keputih masih tergolong rendah, hal ini dikarenakan petambak langsung menjual hasil panennya ke pengepul yang ada di sekitarnya atau pasar terdekat. Melalui kegiataan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat berbasis Penelitian ini dilakukan upaya peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat melalui diversifikasi produk olahan tambak selain bandeng presto maupun bandeng asap. Rumput laut juga digunakan sebagai bahan tambahan guna meningkatkan gizi sekaligus meningkatkan nilai jual hasil tambak. Upaya ini dilakukan sekaligus untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat du Kelurahan Keputih melalui diversifikasi produk olahan tambak dengan rumput laut sebagai bahan tambahan.

Abstract

Indonesia Presidential Regulation No. 5/2006 on National Energy Policy suggests that the government should speed up the implementation of the use of alternative energy or fuel substitution. Biofuel synthesis is one way to overcome the shortage of energy and reduce global warming due to the use of fossil fuel. Biofuel can be produced from a variety of vegetable oil. Beside palm oil, nyamplung oil can be used to produce biofuel. The technically main obstacle in producing biofuel is the availability of the catalyst. The availability catalyst are only imported and expensive. Researchers have tried to engineer a new type of catalyst that complete the weakness of zeolite based catalyst. The study was conducted through experimental approaches, testing and observations and conducted the correlation of experiment variables with the quality of the resulted catalyst. The experiment was done by synthesizing catalyst and testing it to produce biofuel from nyamplung oil. The focus of the research is directed to the effect of operating variables on the composition of the resulted biofuel and obtain catalyst performance condition and optimum condition to produce biofuel in the fixed bed reactor. The resulted catalyst can change the nyamplung oil into biofuel. Biofuel from nyamplung oil cracking process showed that the composition is biogasoline, biokerosene and biodiesel. Biodiesel fraction is the highest fraction of the biofuel produced. The highest percentage of biodiesel at a temperature of 400°C was 60%, while the lowest percentage of biodiesel at a temperature of 300°C was 48%. Products density was in the range of 0.81 to 0.86 g/ml. The highest density occured at a reactor temperature of 300 °C was 0.86g/ml. The higher the nitrogen gas flow rate the more the biodiesel formed. At a temperature of 300°C and a nitrogen flow rate of 100 ml/min, the composition solar achieved was 60%.

Abstract

IRMOF-3 crystals have been synthesized using solvothermal method by reacting zinc nitrate hexahydrate with 2-amino-1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid in N'N-dimethylformamide ( DMF ) at 100 °C for 18, 24, 48, 72, 120 and 144 h to observe crystal growth . The obtained crystals were characterized using X - ray Diffraction ( XRD ) , SEM ( Scanning Electron Microscopy ) and Scanning Electron Microscopy - Energy Dispersive X-ray ( SEM - EDX ). Diffractograms of crystals synthesized at heating times of 24 and 48 hours showed major peaks at 2θ of 6.8; 9.6 and 13.7, which are the characteristic peaks of an IRMOF-3 crystal. The size of IRMOF-3 crystals observed using SEM increased with the increase in heating time up to 48 h, then decreased at heating times of 72, 120 and 144 h. The largest IRMOF-3 crystal is of cube shape with a particle size of 500 µm. The weight of the resulting crystals increased with the increase in heating time, then remained constant after 72 h.

Abstract

UiO-66 solids have been synthesized using solvothermal method in which reaction mixtures of zirconium tetrachloride (ZrCl4) and 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid (BDC) in N-N'-dimethylformamide (DMF) were heated at 140 °C for 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, 72 and 144 hours, respectively. The weight of reaction products, in the form white powder, increased with the increase in heating time up to 72 hours, then decreased. Characterization results using XRD showed that the diffractogram of the solid obtained at heating time of 6 h had the same pattern to that of reported UiO-66, characterized by a main peak with a high intensity at 2θ of 7.3°, as well as other characteristic peaks with lower intensity at 2θ of 8.4°; 25.6° and 30.6°. The longer the heating time (12 and 24 h), the lower the intensity of the main peak. When the reaction mixtures were heated for 36 h or longer, the obtained solid diffractograms showed that the main peak intensity at 2θ of 7.3° was lower than the second peak, and new peaks appeared at 2θ of 13.8°; 15.8° and 17.5°. SEM micrographs showed that the solid synthesized for 6 h was in the form of clusters of square morphology, whereas solids synthesized for 72 h showed needle-like surface morphology
