Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa SMK Bhakti Loa Janan dalam memahami dan menerapkan teknologi Internet of Things (IoT) sebagai kesiapan menghadapi era industri digital. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 30 siswa dengan tahapan meliputi koordinasi awal, persiapan perangkat dan modul pelatihan, penyampaian teori, praktik langsung (hands-on training), evaluasi, dan pendampingan. Materi mencakup pengenalan konsep dasar IoT, pemrograman mikrokontroler Arduino dan ESP32, serta penerapan sensor DHT11 untuk sistem pemantauan suhu dan kelembaban berbasis platform ThingSpeak. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa dalam merancang serta mengoperasikan sistem IoT secara mandiri. Peserta mampu mengintegrasikan perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak, serta memahami alur komunikasi data dengan baik. Selain itu, guru pendamping memperoleh wawasan baru untuk mengembangkan materi pembelajaran berbasis IoT di sekolah. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan literasi teknologi siswa serta memperkuat kolaborasi antara perguruan tinggi dan sekolah kejuruan dalam membangun ekosistem pendidikan vokasi yang adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi digital.

Abstract

Abstract

The constraints that exist in a system that is run manually, include the large amount of data that must be processed, the complexity in processing data, the limited time used in processing data, and various types of data. Likewise, in an office of the Plantation Service in East Kalimantan Province, processing correspondence is still done manually. This application uses a system by entering the type of letter to find a list of incoming and outgoing mail to make it easier for operators at the Plantation Service in East Kalimantan Province. In this program, the operator must enter first to access data from incoming messages and announcements. Therefore, this application is expected to improve the previous system and make work easier so that it can shorten the time so that work efficiency increases and makes it easier for operators to process data.Based on the results of observations in the form of an interview with an employee of the Data Information Service Center (PPID) at the Plantation Office of East Kalimantan Province, it was stated that there was no system or application. Correspondence services at the Plantation Office of East Kalimantan Province have been running well, but all processes are still manual and use a lot of paper. This application is also a form of concern for paper, where paper usage is starting to be reduced. All data and documentation are presented in digital or paperless form.Referring to the results of these observations, we need a web media capable of displaying correspondence with detailed information. With this web, it is expected to be useful for employees. In addition, it can assist the East Kalimantan Provincial Plantation Office in providing correspondence information.With the Correspondence Management Information System website, it is hoped that it will be useful for employees at the Plantation Office of East Kalimantan Province in processing letter data so that they can work effectively and efficiently in the process

Abstract

Birth Control “Keluarga Berencana” (KB) is a government program designed to balance the needs and population. Birth Control is an attempt to measure the number of children and the desired birth spacing of children. Therefore, the Government launched a program or method to prevent and delay pregnancy. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to create a geographic information system for data collection of contraceptive users based on a website that is useful as a place to store data on contraceptive users and information maps as a benchmark for the achievement of Birth Control instructors in the area of ​​Samarinda opposite. The results of this study that the existence of this geographic information system website, besides being able to assist the public in obtaining information about contraceptives, can also assist the work of Birth Control instructors in the regions, especially in the Samarinda Seberang area in recording Birth Control users in their working areas and as a step to help reduce paper use and modernization from the old system.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the unavailability of an employee payroll information system that facilitates data processing on CV Borneo Andeska Maja Samarinda in finance/treasury. Current the company from the finance/treasury section is still using Microsoft Excel in making employee salary recaps. Therefore the purpose of making a payroll information System in this study is to provide convenience and help reduce administrative costs or administrative costs and of course it can be a better information system. As for the development using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the PHP Programing language Framework Laravel. The data structure used is Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) and Physical Diagram Model (PDM) and for the database using phpMySQL. The result of this study are expected to provide convenience for the company CV Borneo Andeska Maja Samarinda, especially in the finance department in terms of employee payroll which is carried out every month.

Abstract

Early diagnosis of diabetes mellitus is crucial to prevent severe complications and reduce long-term healthcare costs, making accurate and efficient predictive models an important research focus in medical data analytics. However, one of the main challenges in diabetes prediction lies in the presence of irrelevant and redundant features within medical datasets, which can degrade classification accuracy, increase computational complexity, and reduce model generalizability. To address this issue, this study proposes a Hybrid Feature Selection (HFS) approach that integrates filter-based methods and meta-heuristic optimization to identify an optimal subset of features for diabetes prediction. In the proposed framework, statistical filter techniques combining Chi-square and Mutual Information are first employed to rank and reduce feature dimensionality by selecting the most relevant attributes. Subsequently, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) is applied to further optimize the feature subset by maximizing classification accuracy while minimizing the number of selected features. The effectiveness of the proposed HFS approach is evaluated using the Pima Indian Diabetes Dataset, consisting of 768 instances and 8 clinical features, and tested across multiple machine learning classifiers, including Random Forest, Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and XGBoost. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed HFS significantly improves predictive performance compared to baseline models without feature selection. Specifically, the Random Forest classifier achieved the highest accuracy of 79.22%, compared to 74.03% in the baseline model, representing an improvement of approximately 5.2%. Additionally, notable improvements were observed in F1-score and AUC, with AUC increasing from 0.8336 to 0.8403. Beyond accuracy gains, the proposed method reduced feature dimensionality from 8 to 5 features, resulting in lower computational cost and faster model training time. These findings indicate that the hybrid integration of filter-based selection and meta-heuristic optimization provides a robust and efficient solution for feature selection in medical prediction tasks. Overall, the proposed HFS framework offers a promising approach for developing accurate, efficient, and reliable decision-support systems for early diabetes diagnosis.

Abstract

One of the problems that are often faced by the fire department at the time of a fire is the obstruction of the main post in determining the PMK assistance post which is deployed in the closest radius to the location of the incident. The purpose of this research is to build a web-based geographic information system that can determine and provide information about the location of fires in Samarinda City. The benefits of this geographic information system for mapping fire disasters can determine and become a source of information for the community and also the Fire Department regarding the location of the fire.
