Abstract

This research aims to determine the optimal combination of a mixture containing bamboo fibre and polyester resin, with the addition of coconut fibre as a reinforcing material. The main objective of this research is to test tensile tests to determine the most suitable strength factor. In addition, this research aims to evaluate how changes in specific parameters affect the tensile characteristics of composite materials. The parameters observed include the proportion of the matrix to the volume of coconut fibre, the percentage of alkali concentration, and the length of the coconut fibre. The composite fabrication stage involves using the hand lay-up and Taguchi methods. The reason for choosing the L4(23) orthogonal experimental design is that there are three process parameters, each with two levels. The trial was duplicated five times. Important factors studied include the ratio of matrix and volume of coconut fibre, alkali concentration, and length of coconut fibre. Based on the results obtained from this research, it has been proven that the most effective combination to achieve the highest tensile strength is a matrix that accounts for 60% of the composition, coconut fibre occupies 20% of the volume, and an alkali concentration of 5.%, and coconut fibre strands measuring 30 mm long. The tensile strength test result of this particular composition was 54.34 MPa. Apart from that, the length of coconut fibre is the most significant factor in increasing tensile strength, with a contribution of 42.560%.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of a peer-tutor-based Hybrid Learning model on SMAW welding performance in the 3G position among 11th-grade Welding Engineering students at SMKN 10 Malang. This study involved 2 groups of students: those who studied using peer-tutor-based hybrid learning and those who studied without peer-tutor assistance. The research method used was a quasi-experimental posttest-only control-group design. The research subjects comprised two classes: a control and an experimental class, each with 30 students. The research instrument was an SMAW welding practice test in the 3G position, assessed using a welding results assessment rubric. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, and an independent-samples t-test. The results showed a significant difference in students' welding practice between the control and experimental classes, with a significance value of sig. <0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the peer-tutor-based hybrid learning model has a significant effect on SMAW welding performance in the 3G position for vocational high school students. The application of a peer-tutor-based hybrid learning model has a significant effect on SMAW welding performance in the 3G position for students at SMKN 10 Malang, compared to the control class without peer-tutor assistance.

Abstract

Technological developments in the world of education are very rapid, requiring education to continue to have innovation and renewal in learning approaches to be able to produce generations or highly competitive human resources who are able to have critical thinking skills. The purpose of this research is to determine the differences in critical thinking abilities between students who are taught using a guided inquiry learning strategy assisted by a virtual laboratory and those who are taught using a guided inquiry strategy without the assistance of a virtual laboratory in thematic learning in class V elementary school. This type of research is quasi-experimental, while the research design used is nonequivalent control group design. The sampling technique uses nonprobability sampling with a saturated sampling technique. Meanwhile, the instrument in this research is a test. The results of the research through hypothesis testing using the t test with a significance level of 5%, show that the >  (3,283 > 2,712) and the significant value shows sig < 0.05 (0.002 < 0.05), then  is rejected and  is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is differences in critical thinking abilities between students who were taught using guided inquiry learning strategies assisted by virtual laboratories and those taught using guided inquiry strategies without virtual laboratory assistance in thematic learning in class V of elementary schools

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the Technical Drawing subject at Vocational Schools due to the dominance of conventional methods that are less able to visualize objects comprehensively. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of using digital flipbook learning media on the learning outcomes of class X students of Welding Engineering Expertise Concentration at SMK Negeri 10 Malang. The research method used is quantitative with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design on 70 students selected through a total sampling technique. The research instrument is a validated multiple-choice objective test, and the data are analyzed using the Paired Sample T-Test and N-Gain tests. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the average value from 79.91 to 90.89 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The effectiveness of media use is in the "Medium" category with an average N-Gain of 0.5611. The conclusion of this study states that digital flipbook media has a real influence in improving students' conceptual understanding and cognitive achievement in technical drawing competencies. This media is recommended as a strategic tool to support innovative digital learning transformation in the Independent Curriculum era.
