Abstract

The purpose of this study were to (1) describe the ability of students to determine the sentence facts through intensive reading class X-SMAK SMK Padang, (2) describe the ability of students to determine the sentence opinions through intensive reading class X-SMAK SMK Padang, (3) describes the differences of students' ability to distinguish between fact and opinion sentences through intensive reading class X-SMAK SMK Padang. The data of this research is a test answer sheet that was held on December 6, 2012. Tests to be objective about the amount of about 30 grains of matter, which consists of 15 questions and 15 questions facts opinions. The data sources of this study are writing as a source of primary sources of the student-SMAK SMK Padang. Data collected view of providing intensive reading test paragraphs of the matter abjektif given researchers. The findings of the study showed that there is a difference in determining the sentence facts and opinions. The ability to determine the facts sentences (69.80%) and subjective (63.88%).

Abstract

This article aims to (1) to describe form of using address form based on matrilineal progeny in Minangkabaunesee in Tuik IV Koto Mudik region. (2) to describe form and using address form based on marriage in Minangkabaunesee in Tuik IV Koto Mudik region, and (3) to describe the form and using no kinship address form, include tradition address form, religion address form, and job position in Minangkabaunesee in Tuik IV Koto Mudiak region, Batang Kapas sub-district, Pesisir Selatan district. This research is qualitative research by using descriptive method. The research data is address form in Minangkabaunesee in Tuik IV Koto Mudik region Batang Kapas sub-district Pesisir Selatan district. The source of this research is verbal source as a primary source uttered by informant as native speaker. The data is collected by using listening method, recording  technique and writing technique as continuation technique. The research finding is 23 matrilinial kinship address forms, 32 kinship address form based on marriage, whereas  no kinship address form are found  10 job position address form, 8 religion address form, and 3 tradition address forms in Minangkabaunesee in Tuik IV Koto Mudik region Batang Kapas sub-district, Pesisir Selatan district.

Abstract

The purposes of the study were to discribe the relation syntax competention and writed efective sentence in argumentation composition skill students class ten high school country one Lengayang.  The Subject of the study were students class ten high school country one Lengayang 2012/2013 (290 peoples). The sampel  taked used random sampling tekhnik were 150 % from population (42 peoples). The data were colected by objective test and worked test. The data analicist by description and the process by used corelation product moment with ten scale. The conclusion of the study were (1) mean syntax competention which writed by students were enougt kualification (C) with value 62,67; (2) mean writed efective sentence in argumentation composition werw enougt kualification (C) with value 65,5; (3) there were relation between syntax competention and writed efective sentence in argumentation composition skill students class ten high school country one Lengayang at freedom degree (dk) n-2 and significant level 5%.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the process and result the improvement of vocabulary mastery at grade VII A of Junior High School 2 Sungai Penuh through Crossword Game Technique. The Increase vocabulary mastery of the students seen by the mastery of synonyms, antonyms, and the meaning of the term as the indicator. The findings of the study was the technique of crossword puzzles game can increase students vocabulary, it seen from the average of pre-cycle 53.92%, first cycle 69.50% and second cycle 75.25%. It can be concluded that the vocabulary mastery of the students increased significantly with an average increase from cycle I to cycle II 5, 75% with the students completed amount to 36 students (90%) of the total.

Abstract

The research is to describe the increasing of the learning discuss the use of cooperative learning methods Numbered Heads Together type of student in the class VIII F SMPN 1 Padang Panjang wich is from indicators of pronunciation, grammar, liveliness ask class in questions, connection and topic, and the conversation. This research was classroom action research that descriptive methods. The data obtained through observation sheets, field notes, questionnaires, and performance tests. This study was conducted in three cycles, each cycle conducted in two meetings. Based on the results of this research obtained conclude that the use of cooperative learning methods of the type Numbered Heads Together to improve the learning ability of students to discuss class VIII F SMPN 1 Padang Panjang. The increase is seen in the acquisition value of the average room in the count is significant,  prasiklus 53.90%, 63.62% first cycle and the second cycle of 76.62%.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is (1) to describe the form of idioms in English cottage Central District V Koto Muko-Muko district of North Bengkulu, (2) describe the meaning of idioms in English cottage Central District V Koto Muko-Muko district of North Bengkulu, (3) describe the function of idiom in the language of the Middle District V Koto cottage Muko-Muko district of North Bengkulu. This research is a qualitative study using descriptive methods. The findings of the study are (1) the idioms used by the Central Cottage Village Community in the form of two words and three words, (2) the meaning of idioms in the group by stating the nature, naming, and daily activities, (3) function idiom to quip, praise, express anger, expressed his joy/love and, expressed his sadness.

Abstract

The purpose of research is to describes: (1) semantic competenty, (2) writing short story ability, and (3) the relationship between semantic and students class X SMAN 1 Lengayang, regency ability in writing short story. This research is quantitative research by using descriptive method. Population in this research is class X SMAN 1 Lengayang about 290 students. Sample is 15% from 290 students is 42 students by using random sampling technique. Based on the result of the research can be concluded: (1) semantic competency 66-75 % is more than enough. (2) writing short story ability about 66-75 % is more than enough. (3) there is positive relationship and significant between semantic competency and students ability in writing short story of class X SMAN 1 Lengayang.

Abstract

This article was written to (1) to describe any kind of sentencein terms of syntactic form sobtained bythe child at age 3;0-4;0, and (2) describe patterns of sentences in terms of syntactic function obtained by children at age 3;0-4;0. The data of this study is the sentence that speech children aged 3;0-4;0. The data source of this research his the speech of children aged 3;0-4;0. Data obtained using methods refer to and supported by observation and recording techniques. Data obtained transcribed into written language, identified, classified, and then made conclusions. The findings of this study are the types of sentences in terms of syntactic forms found as many as four types of sentences and sentence patterns found in terms of syntactic function as much as 23 sentence patterns.

Abstract

The purposes of this study were to described of: (1) The critical reading ability, (2) The arguments writing ability, and (3) The relationships of the critical reading ability with the arguments writing ability the Grade VIII Junior High School 7 Pariaman. The type of this study was the corellative study by qualitative method. The population and sampling did by random sampling in 15 % from the population. According to the result of  the data analyze and discussion it could be concluded as. First, the critical reading ability students of  Grade VIII Junior High School 7 Pariaman was in the qualifying of more than enough (70,43). Second, the arguments writing ability students of Grade VIII Junior High School 7 Pariaman was in the qualifying of more than enogh (66). Third, there werw significant relationships between the criticalreading ability with the arguments writing ability the students   of Grade VIII Junior High School 7 Pariaman on the independence degree n-2 at the 95 % of the  significant stage.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the performance of using Indonesian vocabulary in terms of using the principle of language vocabulary by the governor and vice governor of West Sumatra on Youtube. This study is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The study data are speech by the governor and vice governor of West Sumatra. The data were collected in the following manner, (1) the author download the video of the governor and vice governor of West Sumatra in social media, Youtube; (2) the author transcribes the entire Youtube video; and (3) the author observe and determine data that includes the performance of Indonesian vocabulary; (4) the author include the code to performance of using Indonesian vocabulary. After the data collected, then the author is analyzing the data with the following steps, (1) identifying and transcribing data, (2) classifying data, (3) calculating data, (4) interpreting data, and (5) summing up data. The conclusion of the study is the performance of Indonesian vocabulary in the speech of the governor and vice governor of West Sumatra in well phase. The author found 76% data using standard vocabulary and 24% data using non standard vocabulary. If the data explained in number, the using of standard vocabulary is 276 sentences and non standard vocabulary is 86 sentences.Keywords: vocabulary, governor and vice governor, Youtube
