Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of Third Party Funds (TPF), Bank Size, Operating Expenses to Operating Revenue (BOPO), Net Interest Margin (NIM), and BI Rate on credit in Rural Credit Banks (BPR) in Padang City. This study uses a quantitative approach with quarterly panel data for the period 2015–2024 obtained from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and analysis was conducted using panel data regression methods through EViews 12 software. The research results show that TPF, Bank Size, and NIM have a positive and significant effect on credit in BPR in Padang City, while BOPO and BI Rate have a negative but not significant effect on credit in BPR in Padang City. These findings indicate that fund availability, bank capacity, and profit margin (NIM) are the main determinant factors in credit distribution of BPR in Padang City, while the insignificance of BOPO and BI Rate shows that operational efficiency and macroeconomic conditions have not become the main considerations in determining credit volume. Based on these results, it is recommended that BPR management focus on optimizing TPF collection to strengthen funding base, increasing business scale to expand credit distribution capacity, maintaining optimal NIM levels to ensure profitability, anticipating BI Rate changes through appropriate pricing strategy and timing adjustments, and strengthening credit risk management systems.

Abstract

This study aims to identify strategies for developing marine aquaculture, determine the position of marine aquaculture development, and formulate key strategic priorities for developing marine aquaculture in Mentawai Islands Regency. The methods used in this study are the SWOT and QSPM methods. The results of the study based on SWOT analysis indicate there are eight alternative strategies for the development of marine aquaculture, and the position of marine aquaculture development in Mentawai Islands Regency is in Quadrant IV (growing and developing) and VI (harvesting or divestment). Meanwhile, the primary priority strategies based on the QSPM analysis with the highest TAS values are: (1) enhancing human resource capacity through modern and sustainable aquaculture training, (2)establishing integrated marine aquaculture zones based on communities (marine farming villages) equipped with processing and marketing facilities, and (3) developing collaborative financing schemes (grants, CSR,village funds) for aquaculture infrastructure. The local government of Mentawai Islands Regency needs to formulate an integrated strategy for the development of marine aquaculture, including enhancing human resource capacity, adopting environmentally friendly technologies, developing supporting infrastructure, strengthening investment and market access, and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration through financing schemes and cross-sectoral coordination.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are business sectors that contribute positively to economic development and their contribution to national income. However, as the number of MSMEs increases but MSME faces several problems. The most prominent issue is the lack of capital owned by the entrepreneurs to develop their businesses. In lending, there are several things that need to be considered by creditors and debtors to maintain the intermediary function of the bank. By providing targeted credit, more workers can be absorbed so that Indonesia's unemployment rate continues to fall. This study using panel data regression. First model  using the random effect model (REM) method and second model  using the fixed effect model (FEM) method with a cross-section of 33 provinces in Indonesia and time series 2015-2022. The test results show that the DPK variable, the number of branches, and inflation have a positive and significant effect on total MSME lending and the NPL variable has no effect on total MSME credit. Furthermore, the total MSME lending variable and the economic growth rate have a negative significant effect on the unemployment rate. This research provides a deeper understanding of the factors that determine MSME lending and how they relate to the unemployment rate in 33 Indonesian provinces. It can also be used as a basis for formulating more effective policies related to MSME lending with the potential to reduce the unemployment rate.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of foreign capital inflows on economic growth in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data sourced from the World Bank and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) from 1986-2021 using multiple linear regression analysis tools. The independent variables consist of foreign direct investment, foreign portofoio investment and foreign aid, with the control variables being inflation and interest rates and the dependent variable being economic growth. The results found that foreign direct investment has a positive and significant effect on economic growth. This shows that foreign capital inflows have an important role in encouraging economic growth. However, foreign portfolio investment has a negative effect on economic growth. Therefore, the monetary authority needs to implement a foreign capital inflow policy to maintain stability and encourage economic growth in Indonesia through foreign capital inflows. As well as implementing an effective and efficient governance system to reduce the misuse of foreign capital inflows so as to encourage economic growth.
