Abstract

Community participation is the participation of all community members in solve theproblems of the community. Community participation in the health sector means the participationof all community members in solve the health problems of their own. To cultivate self-awarenessto each of the students is not an easy thing because it is likely to be born of the will of theindividual. Frequently encountered are students too indifferent to the environment, because theythink that the cleanliness of the environment has become the responsibility of a cleaning service.The purpose of this study was to get a description of the student participation onenvironmental cleanliness in Politehnik Kesehatan Kemenkes Surabaya campus.The method used in this research is descriptive, the population in this study is the entireacademic Jurusan Kesehatan Lingkungan Surabaya and Jurusan Gizi is still active, the number of389 students, while the samples are taken using the technique Stratified Random Sampling of 25%of the total population (389 students) then obtained a sample of 98 students. Data collectiontechniques in this study using a questionnaire and wawancara.dan observation data obtained wereanalyzed descriptively that illustrates the participation of students to the cleanliness of the campusJurusan Kesehatan Lingkungan Surabaya and Jurusan Gizi.The results showed that the participation rate of students to the cleanliness of theenvironment on the campus of Jurusan Kesehatan Lingkungan Surabaya and the Jurusan Gizicategory enough (60%), and the participation of students to the cleanliness of the campusincluding the category of moderately active program evaluation activities related to environmentalhygiene in order to follow up the improvement in the future.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the high rate of disease Pulmonary TB, where the disease Pulmonary TB, including contagious, bacteriological quality home air with pulmonary tuberculosisare declining due to sanitary houses, especially covering ventilation, lighting, humidity and densityhousing that does not meet the requirements of home health, Pegirian health center in the area ofSurabaya. The air inside the house that are not fresh in the house can be a media proliferation,among others Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria. Such conditions may facilitate diseasetransmission pulmonary TB, which is transmitted from a sick person pulmonary TB to a healthyperson through the air is dropplet issued when the patient coughs, sneezes talk or spit, pollute theair in the house and inhaled by healthy people, then there is pulmonary TB disease transmission. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the bacteriologicalquality of indoor air, house sanitation condition with pulmonary TB disease occurrence in the regionPuskesmas Pegirian Surabaya. The method used in this study is an analytical, cross-sectional, usingChi Square analysis. The population in this study were all patients with pulmonary TB in the regionPegirian Surabaya. Abstract

One of the wastes of making tempe is soybean husk which comes from boiling and soaking. Soybean husk waste that is not utilized causes unpleasant odors and pollutes the environment. Utilization as organic fertilizer can be used to overcome the pollution. This study aims to utilize soybean husk waste as a liquid fertilizer applied to mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.).This type of research is included in the True Experimental Design. With the research design Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The object of this research is green mustard (Brassica juncea L.) as many as 30 samples and liquid organic fertilizer from soybean husk waste at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% with 9 replications. The sampling technique used is Simple Random Sampling. Data were obtained from the field in the form of observations and measurements of mustard plant growth parameters including the height of the mustard plant, the number of leaves of the mustard plant, and the diameter of the stem of the mustard plant, the NPK content test in the laboratory, and data analysis was carried out with the Anova test.The application of liquid organic fertilizer from soybean husks did not significantly affect stem diameter and number of leaves, but did affect plant height. The effective concentration treatment on the growth of mustard greens is a 15% concentration treatment for plant height with an average of 35.85 cm.Liquid Organic Fertilizer of soybean epidermis with a concentration of 15% is effective on the growth of mustard greens. Suggestions for further researchers are to conduct research on other plants with higher concentrations in order to obtain optimal results on plant growth to be studied.

Abstract

Motor vehicles contribute greatly to air pollution. The number of motor vehicles in Surabaya reached 1,827,806 units in 2010 while the increase of motor vehicles per year reached 30%. Surabaya City Government launched Car Free Day program with the aim to reduce and control exhaust emissions from motor vehicles. The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of Car Free Day program to decrease NOx content in air. This research is descriptive with cross sectional approach. The data were collected by observation, field parameter measurement and NOx measurement at Car Free Day and Non Car Free Day (NCFD) at Kertajaya Street and Raya Darmo Street Surabaya. The data were then presented in the tabulation and were analyzed in descriptive form. The results of the average NOx concentration on Kertajaya Street at the time of CFD were 266.4 μg / Nm3 and at the time of NCFD was 409 μg / Nm3. Average NOx concentration on Raya Darmo Street at CFD was 298.4 μg / Nm3 and at the time of NCFD was 431,76 μg / Nm3. According to PP No.41 of 1999, it is stated that the rate of NOx in 1 hour measurement is 400 μg / Nm3. The decrease percentage of NOx concentration in Kertajaya Street was 34.86% and on Raya Darmo Street was 30,88%. Car Free Day program is not effective in lowering air NOx levels in Kertajaya Street and Raya Darmo Street Surabaya. It is recommended that the Surabaya City Government can add some point of the road as well as the addition of days for Car Free Day activities. Keywords: Efectiveness, Car free day, Pollutants NOx

Abstract

Penggunan Air Conditioner (AC) di ruang perpustakaan sebagi alternatif untuk mengganti ventilasi alamidapat meningkatkan kenyamanan bagi pengunjung dan pegawai, namun kondisi AC yang jarang dibersihkan akan berpotensi sebagai tempat bagi mikroorganisme untuk berkembang biak. Di antara berbagai polutan yang memiliki peran penting terhadap kesehatan adalah terdapatnya mikrobiologis jamur/kapang di dalam udara ruangan. Perpustakaan merupakan salah satu ruangan yang berpotensi tinggi untuk mengalami masalah polusi udara dalam ruang. Gangguan kesehatan yang disebabkan oleh jamur/kapang di dalam udara ruangan perpustakaan bisa dialami oleh semua orang yang beraktivitas di dalam ruang perpustakaan, misalnya petugas perpustakaan, dosen, mahasiswa dan pengunjung luar lainnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan identifikasi terhadap kualitas mikrobiologis udara dalam ruangan kerja ber-AC dengan gangguan kesehatan pada ruang perpustakaan di tiga Jurusan di Lingkungan Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross sectional. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi keberadaan jamur/kapang, dan kualitas fisik udara dalam ruang serta keluhan subyektif yang dirasakan petugas perpustakaan di dalam ruangan perpustakaan. Hasil pemeriksaan jumlah kuman yang telah dilakukan pada ketiga likasi penelitian, hasil tertinggi di ruang C rata-rata 7.05 x 10 CFU/m3, sedang hasil pengukuran terendah di ruang A dengan hasil rata-rata 4,75 x 10 CFU/m3. Hasil pengukuran suhu berkisar antara 23-25 oC, sedangkan kelembaban yaitu 68%-79%. Pemeriksaan jumlah kuman dan pengukuran suhu, hasilnya masih dibawah nilai ambang batas yang telah ditetapkan dalam Permenkes RI. No. 1077/Menkes/Per/V/2011 yaitu sebesar 700 CFU/m3, dan suhu 18 – 30 oC. Sedangkan pengukuran kelembaban masih melebihi nilai ambang batas yang telah ditetapkan yaitu sebesar 40% - 60%. Dengan demikian nilai kelembaban di ketiga ruangan tersebut tidak memenuhi syarat. Kata kunci: Kualitas mikrobiologis, Udara ruangan, Perpustakaan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work climate on worker fatigue in Pabrik Tahu Kediri. This research is an observational study with a cross sectional approach. Data was collected by observation, interviews and measurements. The population in the study was 40 workers. The retrieval technique used is Ordinal Regression. The data obtained will be analyzed using the Ordinal Regression test. The variables in this study were labor fatigue as the dependent variable and hot work climate as the independent variable. From the statistical analysis, work fatigue is influenced by the characteristics of the workforce, namely age and gender (p 0.05). The results of the measurement of fatigue before work show that all workers experience low fatigue and 22.2% fatigue after work, 33.3% of workers who experience moderate fatigue and 44.4% of workers who experience high fatigue. The results of the measurement of the working climate in the production room are on average 32°C, which means it exceeds the NAV. Statistical test results show that there is a significant effect of work climate on labor fatigue at 0.001 0.05. Excessive hot work climate can cause body temperature to increase, sweating, which causes the body to lose fluids, salt and cause fatigue. Factors that influence labor fatigue are age, gender, and work climate. Based on the results of this study, the industry is advised to provide drinking places, adding ventilation to reduce heat exposure.

Abstract

River water quality is influenced by several factors, one of then is caused by industrial waste discharged into river bodies. Effluent discharged into water bodies contains heavy metals, pungent odours, and makes the colour of water in water bodies cloudy. the purpose of the study examined the effect of tannery effluent distance on the water quality of the Gandong River in Magetan Regency. Benefits For the company As a consideration to maximize WWTP processing actions so as not to pollute the river environment. for the surrounding community to know also the consequences caused by pollution of tanning industry waste so that they are more careful in reprocessing the use of river water. This type of the reseach was observational with a cross sectional approach. A purposive sampling technique was used. The data analysis methode was a correlation test by comparing laboratory test results with Gandong River water quality standards according to PP. RI. No 82 of 2001. Parametric statistical tests using Product-Moment Correlation to determine the relationsbetweenp of distance from the tannery industry affects the water quality of the Gandong River in Magetan Regency. The results showed that the water quality of Gandong River did not meet the requirements of COD 118 mg/l and colour 61.85 TCU/PtCo, at a distance of 250 m which exceeded the quality standards of COD 133 mg/l and colour 54.90 TCU/PtCo, at a distance of 500 m which did not meet the requirements of COD 89 mg/l, at a distance of 750 m which did not meet the requirements of COD 89 mg/l. temperature and TSS parameters. The highest results at a distance of 0 m of 27˚C and 368 mg / l meet the quality standard requirements for odour obtained odorous results. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the parameters of pH, TSS, Temperature, and Odour still meet the quality standards and the parameters of colour, COD do not meet the quality standards. Based on the Product Moment correlation analysis, the relationship between distance and river water quality shows different values for correlation results that have a relationship, namely the parameters of odour, colour, COD and results that do not have a correlation of temperature and TSS. So the farther the distance from the pollutant source, the better the river water quality.

Abstract

Rivers are one of the environmental components that have important functions for human life, including to support environmental balance as a result of increased development activities in various fields. River pollution occurs because of domestic and non-domestic waste. River pollution that occurs in the ngingas river causes a pungent and colorful odor that affects the biota and quality of river water. The purpose of this study was to measure and map river water quality in terms of TSS and BOD parameters. The research is descriptive in nature with the independent variable being effluent along the river and the dependent variable being the levels of TSS and BOD in the ngingas river. The sampling technique used the grab sampling method and composite sampling was carried out by taking 4 points as far as 2 km from the Ngingas River flow. Data analysis was done by descriptive method of BOD and TSS levels as a result of the effluent at the 4 specified points. The results of the measurement of 4 sampling points at the Ngingas River showed BOD and TSS results of 151.5 mg/L and 103 mg/L in the first 1 km caused by domestic waste originating from settlements with the criteria of the waste being slightly foamy, and smelling good. While in the second 1 km the results of TSS and BOD are 814.2 mg/L and 73.8 mg/L, the measurement results can be caused by many factors, namely household activities or industrial activities, with the criteria that the waste is sometimes foamy. , slightly black, cloudy and smelly. Suggestions for other researchers are efforts to reduce TSS and BOD levels that meet the requirements and it is hoped that every industrial owner has a sewage treatment plant.

Abstract

Inadequate sanitary conditions and poor hygiene practices of coffee shop employees can be one of the causes of germs on the tableware used. Contamination can occur in food that is in direct contact with unclean cutlery and contains microorganisms, this can lead to disease in the digestive system. The purpose of this study was to identify the bacteriological quality of cutlery, personal hygiene, and state of sanitation facilities. This type of research is descriptive. The population of this study were 15 coffee shops with a total sample of 10 samples of cutlery and 5 samples of clean water which were taken by purposive sampling. Analysis of data regarding the bacteriological quality of cutlery, personal hygiene, and sanitation conditions were based on laboratory results and observation sheets. The results of the research on glass utensils and coasters, parameter E.coli 100% met the requirements, while the total plate count parameter for cutlery and MPN Coliform clean water at five coffee shops in Kendangsari showed 100% did not meet the requirements, the application of the cutlery washing technique was of sufficient value ( 64%), the sanitation condition of the coffee shop is of sufficient value (61%), and the personal hygiene of the employees is of sufficient value (58%). It is hoped that the relevant agencies are willing to provide counseling on techniques for washing cutlery, as well as the application of personal hygiene to coffee shop employees in Kendangsari so that the quality of cutlery is maintained.
