Abstract

Latar Belakang: Gangguan kebisingan akibat adanya sumber kebisingan yang melebihi NAB akan berpotensi menimbulkan gangguan ambang dengar pada pekerja. Dua area kerja di PDAM Delta Tirta Kabupaten Sidoarjo memiliki tingkat bising yang tinggi yaitu sebesar 91 dBA sehingga memiliki resiko kesehatan terhadap tenaga kerja. Tujuan Penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui intensitas kebisingan dan kemampuan pendengaran tenaga kerja di area instalasi pengolahan air PDAM Delta Tirta Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional deskriptif dengan variabel penelitian ini yaitu intensitas kebisingan dan kemampuan pendengaran tenaga kerja di area instalasi pengolahan air PDAM Delta Tirta Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Pengukuran intensitas kebisingan menggunakan alat sound level meter dan untuk pengukuran kemampuan pendengaran menggunakan alat audiometri. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya akan diolah dan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan intensitas kebisingan di area instalasi pengolahan air PDAM Delta Tirta Kabupaten Sidoarjo 50% memenuhi standar NAB dan 50% tidak memenuhi standar NAB, kemampuan pendengaran tenaga kerja 100% masih memiliki kemampuan pendengaran normal. Kesimpulan: Terdapat 2 ruangan yang memiliki intensitas kebisingan melebihi ambang batas yaitu pada ruangan pompa distribusi dan ruangan ultrafiltrasi dan kemampuan pendengaran tenaga kerja di PDAM Delta Tirta seluruhnya memiliki kemampuan pendengaran normal. Abstract

The Jambangan Recycling Center (PDU) in Surabaya is a waste management site that applies the 3R principles, namely Reuse, Reduce, Recycle. The amount of waste that comes in every day is 5-6 tons. The waste processing officer complained of subjective complaints in the form of influenza, cough, sore throat and chest pain. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of H2S gas on subjective complaints of waste processing officers at the Jambangan Recycling Center Surabaya. This research is an analytic observational research with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted at the Jambangan Recycling Center. Sampling of respondents and ambient air was carried out by saturated sampling with a total population and sample of 27 people. Data collection techniques in this study used measurements, observations, and interviews. Data analysis using SPSS application with Spearman Correlation Test. The results showed that the average level of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) in the Jambangan Recycling Center Surabaya was 0.00054 ppm which was included in the eligible category according to the East Java Governor Regulation Number 10 of 2009. This study also showed that 27 waste processing officers who 2 people experienced severe complaints, 25 people had mild complaints, and there were no waste processing officers who had no complaints. The conclusion of the study is that there is no effect between levels of Hydrogen Sulfide on subjective complaints of waste processing officers at the Jambangan Recycling Center Surabaya (P = 0.336) so it is recommended to the relevant agencies to monitor air quality regularly. Waste processing officers are also advised to use personal protective equipment when in the Surabaya Jambangan Recycling Center environment.

Abstract

One of the wastes of making tempe is soybean husk which comes from boiling and soaking. Soybean husk waste that is not utilized causes unpleasant odors and pollutes the environment. Utilization as organic fertilizer can be used to overcome the pollution. This study aims to utilize soybean husk waste as a liquid fertilizer applied to mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). This type of research is included in the True Experimental Design. With the research design Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The object of this research is green mustard (Brassica juncea L.) as many as 30 samples and liquid organic fertilizer from soybean husk waste at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% with 9 replications. The sampling technique used is Simple Random Sampling. Data were obtained from the field in the form of observations and measurements of mustard plant growth parameters including the height of the mustard plant, the number of leaves of the mustard plant, and the diameter of the stem of the mustard plant, the NPK content test in the laboratory, and data analysis was carried out with the Anova test. The application of liquid organic fertilizer from soybean husks did not significantly affect stem diameter and number of leaves, but did affect plant height. The effective concentration treatment on the growth of mustard greens is a 15% concentration treatment for plant height with an average of 35.85 cm. Liquid Organic Fertilizer of soybean epidermis with a concentration of 15% is effective on the growth of mustard greens. Suggestions for further researchers are to conduct research on other plants with higher concentrations in order to obtain optimal results on plant growth to be studied.

Abstract

Final waste processing in Indonesia adopts a landfill system. The Benowo landfill employs this system, which has a weakness in producing H2S and NH3 gases. The objective of this study was to assess the level of public health risk present in the Benowo landfill environment. The study design used was quantitative descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. The sample size consisted of 93 housewives selected using simple random sampling techniques, and gas measurements were conducted at two locations. The data analysis methods employed were univariate analysis and ARKL. The findings of this research demonstrated that the level of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas measured 0.02 ppm, while the concentration of ammonia (NH3) was 0.006 ppm. which were still below the quality standards set by East Java Governor Regulation No. 10 year 2009 regarding ambient air quality standards and stationary source emissions in East Java, where the limits for H2S were 0.03 ppm and NH3 were 2.00 ppm. The response dose value (Rfc) for H2S was 0.002 mg/m3, and for NH3 it was 0.5 mg/m3. The RQ value for H2S was greater than 1, indicating a potential risk, while the RQ value for NH3 was less than or equal to 1, indicating safety for the community. H2S gas poses a risk, whereas NH3 does not pose a risk to the communities in the Benowo landfill environment. It is recommended that individuals have a healthy lifestyle, and wear masks in the Benowo landfill environment and local government should be able to carry out the risk management through related agencies to the people lived near Benowo landfill area.

Abstract

Kegiatan masuk dan keluarnya kendaraan bermotor di dalam area parkir menghasilkan emisi berupa gas nitrogen dioksida (NO2) yang dapat berisiko terhadap kesehatan petugas parkir. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui tingkat risiko gas NO2 terhadap kesehatan petugas parkir di Pasar Kapasan Surabaya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan desain cross sectional dan menggunakan pendekatan Analisis Risiko Kesehatan Lingkungan (ARKL). Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah total sampling sebanyak 14 orang. Pengambilan sampel udara dilakukan di 4 lantai area parkir Pasar Kapasan Surabaya. Analisis risiko digunakan untuk menghitung intake NO2 dan menetapkan karakterisasi risiko pada responden. Hasil pengukuran rata- rata konsentrasi NO2 pada keempat lantai area parkir ditemukan kisaran 0,047 ppm-0,053 ppm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar NO2 tidak melebihi baku mutu dalam Permenaker No. 5 Tahun 2018. Nilai intake tertinggi yang diperoleh untuk NO2 yaitu 0,0032 mg/kg/hari dan tingkat risiko paling tinggi sebesar 0,162 (RQ?1). Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa paparan NO2 tidak berisiko terhadap kesehatan petugas parkir di Pasar Kapasan Surabaya. Sebagai tindakan pencegahan, peneliti menyarankan penggunaan respirator untuk mengurangi paparan terhadap polutan dan pemasangan exhaust fan di area parkir untuk meningkatkan sirkulasi udara.

Abstract

The risk of transmitting pulmonary tuberculosis in the family needs to be a concern, especially for toddlers and the elderly who have a lower immune system—as well as for people with HIV who have damaged the body's immune system. In preventing the transmission of pulmonary tuberculosis, the role of the family is very important, because one of the duties of the family is to provide care for family members who are sick and to prevent transmission to healthy family members through measures that must be implemented in their daily lives. Efforts to prevent disease transmission, especially TB, which can be done are to improve the conditions of houses and sanitation facilities to support the realization of a healthy house. A healthy house is a house with physical facilities that meet the requirements for the health of its occupants, such as the fulfillment of ventilation, lighting, humidity, and occupancy density; all of which must meet health requirements so that it does not become a medium for disease transmission. This community service activity aims to create healthy settlements to prevent the transmission of pulmonary TB disease in the working area of the Pegirian Community Health Center, Surabaya in 2020. The target of this activity was specifically aimed at people with pulmonary tuberculosis in the working area of the Pegirian Community Health Center, Surabaya. The approach was carried out by the methods of observation, interviews, counseling, demonstrations of proper handwashing, and motivating residents to create a healthy house and environment by giving assistance in the form of glass tiles and handwashing with soap souvenirs.

Abstract

Hepatitis A is a fecal oral disease which is still a public health problem in Indonesia. The Pacitan Regency Government has determined an extraordinary event (KLB) of Hepatitis A since June 25th, 2019, there were 1,310 confirmed cases. This research aims to determine the relation between well contamination and the incidence of Hepatitis A.This study used a case control design by means of observation and measurement of 36 dug wells randomly selected from 18 cases and 18 controls based on inclusion criteria. The water microbiology examination was carried out at the Surabaya Health Polytechnic Laboratory with the Most Probable Number (MPN) method, and the data analysis technique used was the serial point coefficient correlation.The results suggested that all observed well water was contaminated by E. coli bacteria, and more than half of them did not meet the construction requirements, namely from the aspect of distance from pollutant sources, walls, lips and well floors. The analysis results suggested a relation between Escherichia coli contamination and well construction (p-value = 0.036). However, it did not show a significant relation with the incidence of Hepatitis A (p-Value = 0.514).Improved well construction, increased knowledge, and hygiene behavior are efforts of which must be made in managing Hepatitis A.

Abstract

Sanitasi dasar yang tidak diterapkan dengan baik dapat menimbulkan penyakit diare. Pada tahun 2022 jumlah rumah tidak sehat di wilayah RW 5 Sukomanunggal Baru PJKA sebanyak 191 rumah dari 353 rumah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kondisi sanitasi dasar rumah dengan kejadian diare di wilayah RW 5 Sukomanunggal Baru PJKA. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasional analitik dengan pendekatan case control. Populasi yang digunakan yaitu semua rumah penderita diare selama 5 bulan terakhir tahun 2022 yang tercatat di Puskesmas Simomulyo. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan Simple Random Sampling. Besar sampel kasus sebanyak 36 dan sampel kontrol 36. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar observasi, kemudian diuji dengan Chi square pada tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada hubungan signifikan antara sarana penggunaan jamban dengan kejadian diare (P=0,000), ada hubungan antara pengelolaan sampah dengan kejadian diare (P =0,033), ada hubungan antara saluran pembuangan air limbah dengan kejadian diare (P =0,018). Kesimpulannya adalah penggunaan jamban, pengelolaan sampah dan SPAL berhubungan signifikan dengan kejadian diare. Disarankan maasyarakat dapat membersihkan jamban menggunakan desinfeksi, tempat sampah yang digunakan diberi tutup dan dikosongkan setiap 1x24 jam, serta melakukan kerja bakti seminggu sekali untuk membersihkan SPAL yang digunakan.

Abstract

The microbiological quality of the air in the NICU and surgical rooms exceeds standards. The physical quality of the NICU and operating room exceeds the standard. This study aimed to determine the microbiological and physical quality of hospital room air (NICU room and surgical rooms) at Husada Prima Hospital, East Java Province. This research design was descriptive. Observation, field measurements, and laboratory tests collected data. The measurement results will be compared with RI Minister of Health Regulation No. 2 for 2023. The results of air microbiology sampling in the NICU, surgical room 1, and surgical room 2 still need to meet the requirements. The results of physical air quality measurements, namely temperature in the three rooms, humidity in the NICU room, lighting, and ventilation rate in the three rooms, must meet the requirements. The variables that meet the requirements are humidity in both operating rooms and lighting in the surgical room (Table 2). The condition of hospital facilities and buildings in the three rooms has met the requirements. The conclusion is that the room's air quality at Husada Prima Hospital, East Java Province, did not meet the criteria. The condition of the facilities and buildings was good. The hospital is advised to clean and repair air conditioners regularly, use humidifiers to maintain humidity in the room and increase or decrease lighting according to each room's needs.

Abstract

Basic sanitation is critical to achieving health as it plays a major role in preventing the spread of disease. The benefits of basic sanitation management include the prevention of diseases such as diarrhea, dengue, and typhoid. The purpose of this study was to determine the management of basic sanitation which includes the provision of clean water, waste management, provision of healthy latrines, and provision of sewerage in Ibn Cholil Islamic Boarding School, Bangkalan Regency. The type of research used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Research instruments were interviews and observation checklists with POAC assessment criteria (planning, organizing, actuanting, and controlling). The research variables were the provision of clean water, waste management, provision of healthy latrines, provision of sewerage. The results of the research on basic sanitation management of clean water supply in male dormitories (71%) are in the good category and in female dormitories (62%) are in the sufficient category. Waste management in male dormitories (52%) and in female dormitories (56%) is included in the sufficient category. The provision of healthy latrines in male dormitories (68%) and in female dormitories (73%) is categorized as good. The condition of sewerage in male dormitories (10%) and in female dormitories (24%) is categorized as insufficient. The conclusion of this study shows that the implementation of basic sanitation management management in Ibn Cholil Islamic boarding school, Bangkalan Regency is in the moderate category. It is necessary to educate about basic sanitation management and direct monitoring from the health center. INDEX TERMS Basic Sanitation, Management, Boarding School.
