Abstract

Abstract: Land and forest fire has occurred for more than 18 years in Indonesia, especially in Riau, it show that preventing and addressing land and forest fire needs to be done in various aspects of life, one of which is education, we have to impart knowledge about land and forest fire to students. This research is expected to increase the understanding and knowledge of students about land and forest fire and peat swamp ecosystem, so in the future the students can perform preventive action against land and forest fire problems. This research was conducted at the Laboratory PMIPA of Biology Department of the University of Riau and SMPN 1 Tambang in February until April 2016. This type of research is the development with ADDIE’s model of integration to the stage of development. There are 4 LKPD developed. Instruments of data collection in this study is the assessment sheet / validation LKPD and student questionnaire responses. After LKPD developed, validated by 4 validator and then do the first test at 16-22 student in the 4th semester of biology education FKIP UR, and the second test at 18 students of Class VII at SMPN 1 Tambang. The results of the validation LKPD 1 shows the mean score 3,16 is valid category, LKPD 2 with a mean score of 3,29 is very valid category, LKPD 3 with a mean score of 3,29 is very valid and LKPD 4 with a score of 3,27 is very valid category. The results of the questionnaire responses in the first test showed a mean score of 91 with very good categories and the results of questionnaires in the second test showed a mean score of 89 with very good category. It can be concluded that LKPD Based constructivist approach to prevention the land and forest fire could provide insight and knowledge about land and forest fire and peat swamp ecosystems in particular as well as fit for use in science teaching in schools.Keywords: development, LKPD, Constructivism, land and Forest Fires

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to produce an electronic Student Worksheet (e-LKPD) with Flip PDF Professional based on the Constructivism Approach on Respiration System Materials for Class XI SMA. The research was carried out at the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP UNRI and at the zoom meeting platform for SMA Negeri 1 Pekanbaru students from June to September 2021. This type of research used the ADDIE model. The instruments used are validation sheets and response questionnaires. The results of the validation of the electronic LKPD with Flip PDF Professional based on the Constructivism Approach in Class XI High School Respiration System Materials show that the electronic LKPD that has been developed is in the very valid category with an overall average score of 3.86. The results of the first stage of the trial obtained an average score of 3.48 and the results of the second stage of the trial obtained an average score of 3.49 in the very good category. Based on the results of the analysis of students' answers to the electronic LKPD from the constructivism stage, namely idea generation, idea structure, idea application and reflection, an average score of 3.75 was obtained. The results showed that the well-developed electronic worksheets were suitable to be used as a reference for learning in schools as well as independent learning resources to increase students' knowledge and understanding of the respiratory system material in facilitating students to build their own knowledge.Key Words: Electronic Student Worksheet, Constructivism Approach, Respiratory System.

Abstract

Abstract : According Permendikbud number 81A, one of the competence of the future needed is the ability to think critically. Therefore, it was expected the field of education focused on the fulfillment of these competencies. The purposed of this research was to develop students' worksheets with PQ4R strategies on genetic material to improve the critical thinking skills of students in Class XI SMKN Integrated Agricultural Riau Province. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Biology Department of the PMIPA FKIP University of Riau and SMKN of Agriculture in May to October 2016. This type of research was the development of research using ADDIE model of integration to the stage of development. There were 3 worksheets developed. Instruments of data collection in this study were the validation sheet worksheets, student questionnaire responses, and critical thinking skills observation sheet. After LKS developed, the tests I on 16 students of fourth semester of biology education FKIP UR, then validated by the validator 4, and a second trial on 31 students. I result showed the average score 3,53 with very good category. The tests showed the average score of 3 LKS design developed was 3,08 valid category, the mean score of the pedagogic aspect was 3,21 valid category, and the mean score of the content aspect was 3,30 very valid category. The mean score of all aspects of the three categories 3,20 LKS was valid. II result showed the average score 3,36 with very good category. The results of the analysis of the answers of students in Worksheet 1 showed the mean value of 3.61. Based on the results of data analysis could be concluded that the development of the Strategy Worksheet PQ4R the genetic material increased the understanding and knowledge of the genetic material and enhanced students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to produce a principle module for management and work safety in the laboratory for prospective teachers. This research was conducted at the Biology Education Study Program Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty of Riau University and the Subject Teachers' Association (MGMP) Pekanbaru City, in July - March 2020. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) which refers to the ADDIE model with the stages of Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The instrument used in this study was a validation sheet and response questionnaire. Validation is done to assess the validity of the modules that have been developed, namely by validating by the validator and a limited trial phase I by Biology Education Students of FKIP UR semester 8, and limited trial phase II by prospective biology education teachers who have not participated in the PPG. The assessment of the modules developed includes 5 aspects of assessment, namely aspects of module format, graphics, picture illustrations, language, and content eligibility. Module quality based on validity gets a score of 3.26 with a very valid category, and module usage from the limited trial results stages I and II get a score of 3.46 with a very good category. Based on these data it can be concluded that the principles of work management and safety modules in the laboratory for prospective teachers have been categorized as modules that have the potential to be used on a large scale.Key Words: Content Knowledge, Module, Prospective Teachers

Abstract

Abstract: Action research had been conducted to increase the science learning outcomes of second year students of SMP 25 Pekanbaru by integrating the character and Higher Other Thinking Skill (HOTS) in the class VII3 of Junior High School 25 Pekanbaru year 2017/2018. This action research was conducted on March up to April 2018. The subject of this research was all students of class VII3 of Junior High School 25 Pekanbaru with 38 students consists of 21 boy and 17 girls. The parameter of this study was student learning outcomes consist of three aspects i.e. affective, psychomotor and cognitive. The result of this study showed that integrated character and HOTS could increase the science learning outcomes of second year students of Junior High School 25 Pekanbaru. On the affective aspect, students character increased from 2,82 with good category on phase I to be 3,24 with good category on phase II. Then, student skill outcomes of 68,03 with deficient category on phase I increased to be 82,33 with enough category on phase II. Meanwhile, on the aspect cognitive, the average permeability increased from 78,03% with enough category on phase I becoming 78,55% on phase II with student learning comprehensiveness outcomes of 68,42% with deficient category on phase I increased to be 86,48% with good category on phase II. According to study results, it could be concluded that integrated character and Higher Other Thinking Skill (HOTS) in science could increase students VII learning outcomes of Junior High School 25 Pekanbaru.Keywords: Learning Outcomes, HOTS, Character

Abstract

Abstract: The Biological subject in class VIII has a fairly high level of difficulty and is closely related to everyday life. One of the class VIII are quite difficult to grasp and is closely related to life is the material excretion system. The characteristics of the material in this excretion system places emphasis on contextual learning process because of the demand to link between the subject matter with real events in everyday life including health. The purpose of this study is to increase understanding and knowledge of the learners about the excretion system material. This research was carried out in the laboratory of Biology Education Department PMIPA FKIP University of Riau and junior high school 23 Pekanbaru in April-August 2016. This type of research is research development using model ADDIE conducted up to the stage of development. There are 3 is LKS as developed. Data collection instruments in the research is the assessment sheets/validation is LKS, and the now the response of learners. Once LKS as developed, validated by 4 people validator then conducted tests I on 20 students 4 semesters of Biology education and pedagogy, and UR free trial II on 20 learners Class VIII.g. The validation results showed a mean score of 3 contents eligibility aspect is LKS as developed is very valid category, 4.22 average score aspects of design are valid categories, 3.97 and average score is 3.98 pedagogic aspect of the category is valid. The average score of the overall aspect of the third category is LKS is 4.06. The results of the tests showed I score average 4.33 by category. The results of the tests showed a mean score of 4.12 II with a category either. The results of the analysis of the answers on a test I shows the average value of 86 with categories either. LKS Oriented Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the material excretion system can increase understanding and knowledge about the material and the excretion system can enhance critical thinking skills class VIII junior high school.Key Words: Development, LKS, Problem Based Learning (PBL), Critical thinking, Excretion system.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the technical feasibility level assessments byteachers in implementing the evaluation of learning biology in the implementation ofthe curriculum in 2013, and to analyze the quality of items replay end of the semesterthe class X SMA Indragiri Hulu artificial 2014/2015 school year teachers based ondifficulty level , distinguishing features and grains detractors. The research sample foranalysis of the implementation of the assessment is taken as many as 10 schools thathave implemented the curriculum in 2013 and incorporated in the MGMP. The researchsample for analysis item which is about the end of the semester artificial replications 3different groups of MGMPs biology. Data collected the primary data in the form ofinterview guidelines and documentation as well as secondary data in the form ofquestions and answer sheets replicates end of the semester. The data analysis techniqueused is descriptive analysis with percentages. Based on the results obtained penelititanthat the level of feasibility assessment by subject teachers SMAN biology class X inIndragiri Hulu has not yet reached the National Education Standards. Assessment doneby teachers is a written assessment by the average percentage of 100% with a very goodcategory. Test questions difficulty level items Biology class X semester first semesterSMAN in Indragiri Hulu TP 2014/2015 obtained an average 27.5% a matter of simplecategories: average 47.5%: difficult 25%. For distinguishing items replay semesteraverage gained about the ugly category of 29.2%: just 30%: 20% Good: excellent8.3%: 12.5% negative. Item humbug (distractors) which serves good (D≥5%) gained anaverage of 13.3% while distractors were not functioning properly (D <5%) 86.7%.Key Words: Analysis Assessment , Lessons Biology , National Education Standards

Abstract

Have done the classroom action research was to know the increase of result  learn biology with to approach of STAD Cooperative learning to student class II SMUN  1 Selat Panjang on February – April 2004.  Samples were collected students class II.1  to amount 42 people.  Various parameters such as: Student reserve capacity, produce student learn, student development value, teams appreciation value and students activity. The result of student learn at Cycle I with concept Food and Digestion System at meeting I (81,62), meeting II (79,02), meeting III  (74,22) and meeting IV (82.43). At Cycle II with concept Excretory System of average value at meeting I (83,59), meeting II  (84,86) and meeting 111 (87,29). For student development that contribute for teams appreciation value at Cycle I, 8 teams to get super appreciations and  1 team to get enormous appreciation. Whereas at Cycle II, from 9 teams, all teams to get super appreciations. The Student activity in cycle I equal to 77.19 (very well category), cycle II  equal  to 84.85  (in  very  well  category).  Based  on  the research result,  that  approach of STAD Cooperative Learning can to increase the result of student learning.   Key words : Biology, Cooperative learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of Student Learning Outcomes between Animal Structure and an Animal Development subject conducted in Biology Education in Guidance and Counseling the University of Riau in March-June 2013. This research is a descriptive correlational study. The sample was 50 students from biology class of 2010 by using purposive sampling technique. Parameter data of the study are student learning outcomes in animal structure and animal development subject consisting of the average score of task, the average score of quiz, Mid-term score (UTS), the score of the final-term (UAS). The instruments of data collection such as secondary data are using data documentation of student learning outcomes include average score of task, quiz average value, the mid-term score and the final-term score calculated by the formula of product moment correlation and primary data obtained through closed questionnaire as supporting data. The results showed that the difference of correlation index, it could be seen at the 5% significance level of the correlation coefficient on the average score of the task is weak (0.22), the coefficient of the correlation on the average score of quiz was classified as very weak (0.05), the coefficient of correlation on the mid-term score (UTS) has a sufficient correlation (0.52), the coefficient of correlation on the final-term score (UAS) has a sufficient correlation (0.55) and the coefficient of correlation on the total value has a strong correlation (0,64). It can be concluded that there is a positive and significant correlation with the total value of the animal structure and animal development subject (0,64).Keywords: Animal Development, Animal Structure, Correlation.

Abstract

Has been studied to determine the ability of creative thinking and mastery of the concept of students in learning biology class XI SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. Research was conducted in January to March 2011 with sample student is 1 and XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. This research is an experiment with a class XI IPA 1 as a classroom experiment and XI IPA 2 as the control class. The parameters used in the study of creative thinking skills and mastery of the concept of students. The result of creative thinking skills can be seen from the tests given to students in grade experiment that is equal to 69.40 with less category, while the control class at 56.60 with less category. The result of student’s mastery of concepts can also be seen from the tests given to students in grade experiment that is equal to 80.08 with a high category, while the control class at 68.29 to the medium category. Student learning outcomes can also be seen from the experimental class at 74.74 and 62.45 for the control class. Based on research that has been done, the model Problem Based Learning (PBL) in teaching biology showed better results in terms of creative thinking skills, mastery of concepts and student’s class XI IPA SMAN 2 Pekanbaru in Academic Year 2010/2011.Keywords: Creative Thinking, Concept Mastery, Problem Based Learning (PBL)
