Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the quality of school biology modules: ecology, microbiology and plantae for prospective teachers. This research was conducted at the Biology Education Study Program Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty of Riau University and the Subject Teachers' Association (MGMP) Pekanbaru City in October 2019-March 2020. This type of research refers to the Research and Development (R&D) research approach using the ADDIE model with Analyze stages, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. This research was only carried out until the Develop phase by validating by the validator, a limited trial of stages I and II of undergraduate biology education students at FKIP Riau University. The instruments used were validation sheets and response questionnaires. Descriptive data analysis. The quality of the modules developed is assessed from 5 aspects namely the module format, graphic, illustration, language, and content worthiness aspects. Module quality based on validity is decent with a score of 3.29 very valid categories. The module used from the results of the limited trial phase I gained a score of 3.48 with a very good category and stage II gained a score of 3.52 with a very good category. Based on these data it can be concluded that the quality of the school biology modules: ecology, microbiology and plantae for prospective teachers is very good and deserves to be a source of independent learning in preparation for participating in the PPG selection to be carried out in order to achieve predetermined competency standards.Key Words: School Biology, Prospective Teacher, Modules

Abstract

Abstrat : The progress of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the21st century enables the automation of almost all fields, including education, necessary forrenewal, improvement and development of the education system in learning that can not beseparated from the activities of teachers and students in the learning process.Biologymaterial that discusses physiology is very difficult for students to understand because it isabstract. An alternative used to facilitate students is to utilize applications or software inmaking media, one of them is Adobe Flash software in making animation media. This studyaims to develop and produce animated media using Adobe Flash which is valid as ascience learning medium on the Respiratory System class VIII SMP. This type of researchused in this study is research and development (R&D) using the Four-D model. The resultsof the media validation are very valid with an average score of 3.74. The results of smallgroup trials on animated media using adobe flash that were developed were very good witha score of 98.75 while the results of the field trials of animated media using adobe flashwere very good with a score of 94.68 and could be applied in classroom learning activities.Keywords: Animation media, Adobe Flash, Four-D

Abstract

Abstract : Classroom Action Research has been conducted consisting of two cycles. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of science students of class VII junior high school 17 Pekanbaru with the integration of character and science literacy in natural science. Research starts from the planning stage, the implementation of the action, the observation stage and the last was done reflection to analyze the deficiencies that occur in the learning activities in order to improve the learning activities in the next cycle. This research was conducted from March to May 2018. The subjects of this study were the students of class VII1 semester of which amounted to forty students, consisting of eighteen male students and twenty-two female students. Parameters in the study were student learning outcomes consisting of affective aspects, psychomotor and cognitive aspects that consist of students' absorption and mastery of student learning. The results showed the students' learning outcomes increased. On the affective aspect increased from 3.01 (B) in cycle I to 3.08 (B) in cycle II. Psychomotor aspects increased from 78.70 (C) in cycle I to 84.58 with (C) in cycle II. The average score of cognitive aspects of students is 79.87 (C) in cycle I and increased to 81.02 (C) in cycle II. Student learning mastery in cycle I is 72.5% and increased to 85% in cycle II. Based on the results of research, it can be concluded that by integrating the character and science literacy in science learning can improve student learning outcomes of class VII1 SMP Negeri 17 Pekanbaru.Key Words : Character, Science Literacy, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: the efforts in improving student learning outcomes need to be done. One of the ways that can be done is to use the cooperative learning model type NHT (Numbered Head Together) in learning. This research aims to improve the learning results of biology students of class X SMAN 1 Batu Hampar Lessons year 2015/2016 through Cooperative Model Pembelajaan type of NHT. This research was conducted in February until May 2016. This research is a research action class is done in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subject of research is the 30 students of class X SMAN 1 Batu Hampar. The parameters in this study adalahhasil study, which consists of absorption, ketuntasan learning, appreciation groups, student's activities and the activities of the teacher. The average absorbance on a Cycle I was 77,8%, Cycle II 82,2%. Ketuntasan student learning on a Cycle I was 73,3%, cycle II 90%. I cycle group awards all groups got a terrific group of predicates and cycle II all groups get the predicate Excellent. The average student's activities in Cycles I was 79.58% and Sikus II is 83,3%. The average teacher's activity Cycle I 89,2%, Cycle II 100%. From the results of the study it was concluded that Cooperative Learning Model Type NHT can improve the results of the study of biology students of class X SMAN 1 Batu Hampar lessons year 2015-2016.Key words: improved, the results of the study, Cooperative, NHT

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to improve students' scientific literacy skills through the application of the 5E Learning Cycle model in class VIII.2 science subjects in Pekanbaru 21 Junior High School. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. The subject of this study was class VIII.2 of SMPN 21 Pekanbaru in 2018/2019 academic year, amounting to 41 people consisting of 20 male students and 21 female students. The parameters measured in this study are scientific literacy skills, cognitive aspects, skills and attitudes of students. The research instruments used were syllabus, lesson plans, student worksheets, student skills observation sheets, student attitude observation sheets, knowledge assessment sheets (post test) and daily test sheets. The results showed that the average value of students' scientific literacy skills in the first cycle of learning was 78.14 (C) and in the second cycle the average value of scientific literacy skills increased to 86.48 (B). The average absorption of students in the first cycle was 68.32 (C) and increased in the second cycle to 84.07 (B). The completeness in learning cycle I was 46.30% (D) and the second cycle had reached 85.36% (B). The average value of attitudes of students in learning cycle I is 77.43 (C) and increases in the second cycle to 89.65 (B). The average value of the skills of students in learning cycle I is 63.11 (D) and increases in cycle II to 84.01 (B). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the 5E Learning Cycle model can improve students' scientific literacy skills in class VIII.2 science subjects in SMP Negeri 21 Pekanbaru.Keywords: 5E Learning Cycle, scientific literacy, science lessons

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the external factors of students' learning difficulties in learning biology class XI IPA semester I during the pandemic. Descriptive research was conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Tambang in October 2021. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique, the sample in this study was 69 students. The instrument used in data collection is a closed questionnaire and an open questionnaire. Before being used the questionnaire had gone through the validity and reliability test stages. The results showed that the external factor of the highest student learning difficulties was in the family environment aspect with an average of 67.75, while the school environment aspect had an average of 57.24 in the medium category and the social environment aspect had an average of 66.66 in the high category.Key Words: Learning difficulties, Pandemic, Biology learning

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to develop the classroom-based assessmenton biology subjects for X grade Senior high school. Classroom-based assessmentinclude paper and pencil test, attitude assessment, performance assessment, productassessment, project assessment, self-assessment and portofolio assessment. Thedevelopment was conducted at Biology Education University of Riau and the limitingtest was conducted at MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru. The research held on January untilApril 2014. Validation sheet was used as the data collection instrument. Thisvalidation sheet was filled by the internal dan external validator. Collected datas wereanalyzed by descriptive statistics. Average results of the validity of class-basedassessment are: 3.6 for the paper and pencil test, 3.7 for attitude assessment, 3.7 forperformance assessment, 3.6 for product assessment, 3.6 for project assessment, 3.8 forself-assessment and 3.7 for portofolio assessment. On the last stage of the research, alimiting test on the X grade senior high school. Based on the research’s results can beconcluded that the development of classroom-based assessment on biology science for Xgrade senior high school student was done with the ADDIE model that consists of somephase, start from analyze, design, develop, and the last is implementation in a limitingtest. Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this study is to find out the correlation between the students’ perception and the learning outcomes of the tenth grade students of MA Muhammadiyah Pekanbaru using the application of cooperative model Think Pair Share (TPS) academic year 2016/2017. The research was carried out from November until December 2016. The sample of this research was all of the tenth grade students of MA Muhammadiyah academic year 2016/2017 which consisted of 28 students. The learning outcomes consisted of the result of cognitive test, attitude observation sheet, and product scoring sheet. A closed-questionnaire consisted of 5 indicators and developed into 30 questions; a test consisted of 20 questions; and attitude observation sheet measured the curiosity, the critical, the discipline, and the responsibility; and the product scoring sheet consisted of 3 indicators such as the plan, the concept, and the product. All of closed-questionnaire items were valid and reliable. The reliability of the test which was analyzed by using Cronbach alpha was 0.77, 0,83, 0,85, 0,88, and 0,85 for each indicator. The validity of the test was analyzed by SPSS program 17.00. The analysis of the data was by converting the result into the criteria of scoring. Specifically for affective and psychomotor outcomes, were calculated by using a formula. The correlation of students’ perception and learning outcomes using the application of cooperative model TPS was analyzed by using product moment correlation. The correlation between the students’ perception and learning outcomes the application of cooperative model Think Pair Share (TPS) was obtained as follows: r value for the cognitive learning outcome was 0,57 which was included as average; r value for affective learning outcome was 0,54 which was included as average; and r value for psychomotor learning outcome was 0,23 which was included as low.Key Words: Correaltion, Cooperative Model TPS, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the identification of Coliform bacteria in the ice cubes and ice crystals used fruit sellers and stalls as potential learning module design Biology at a high school in May to June 2016. The research was conducted in two stage laboratory research and design stage of learning modules. This type of research is descriptive and conducted by examination in the laboratory. Sampling technique in this study, done by using purposive sampling method. The results showed that the isolated bacteria found in ice cube consists of five genera, namely Bacillus sp, Pseudomonas, Enterobacter, Citrobacter, and Micrococcus while on ice crystals found in four genera, namely genus Bacillus sp, Enterobacter, Citrobacter and Micrococcus. Based on the analysis of the potential of the research result can be used as the development of the concept Eubacteria module design for high school student.Keywords: Coliform, Ice Cube, Ice Crystal, Module Design

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to develop the classroom-based assessment on biology subjects for XI grade Senior high school. Assessment consists of seven graderoom-based assessment techniques. There are paper and pencil test, attitude, performance, product, project, self-assessment and portofolio. The development was conducted at Biology Education University of Riau and the limiting test was conducted at SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. The research held on January until April 2014. Used research and Development (R & D) design with ADDIE model. Subjects consisted of four Basic Competencies (KD) in the XI grade Senior high school. Data were collected by filling the validity of the assessment sheet by each validator which consists of internal and external validators. Collected datas were analyzed by descriptive statistics. Average results of the validity of class-based assessment are: 3.6 for the paper and pencil test, 3.7 for attitude assessment, 3.7 for performance assessment, 3.6 for product assessment, 3.6 for project assessment, 3.8 for self-assessment and 3.7 for portofolio assessment. On the last stage of the research, a limiting test on the XI grade senior high school. Based on the research’s results can be concluded that the development of classroom-based assessment on biology science for XI grade senior high school student was done with the ADDIE model that consists of some phase, start from analyze, design, develop, and the last is implementation in a limiting test. Based on the results of validation, classroom-based assessment could be implemented with the field test.Key words: biology senior high school, classroom-based assessment, development
