Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of online gambling on mental health in a group of teenagers in Panimbang District, Banten. The research was conducted to understand the impact of online gambling activities on the mental well-being of teenagers, focusing on factors such as stress, anxiety, depression and impulsive behavior. Survey and interview methods were used to collect data from selected samples, which included teenagers aged 15-19 years who were involved in online gambling activities. The results of this research indicate that engaging in online gambling has a negative impact on the mental health of adolescents in Panimbang District. Respondents who were involved in online gambling tended to experience higher levels of stress and anxiety than those who were not involved. Apart from that, the level of depression was also found to be higher in the group of teenagers who were involved in online gambling. This research also shows a positive correlation between online gambling activities and impulsive behavior. Teenagers who engage in online gambling tend to exhibit higher levels of impulsive behavior, which can impact their decisions in everyday life. These findings underscore the importance of awareness of the negative impact of online gambling on adolescent mental health. Preventive and intervention steps need to be taken to reduce the risk of these negative impacts.

Abstract

This study investigates the efficacy of diabetic foot exercises and warm water foot soaking in improving peripheral blood circulation in patients with diabetes mellitus. A paired samples test was conducted to assess the correlation between pre- and post-intervention data. The results revealed a significant correlation (p < 0.05), indicating the effectiveness of the interventions in enhancing peripheral blood circulation. Warm water foot soaking alleviated pain by stimulating endorphin production and dilating blood vessels, while diabetic foot exercises contributed to improved circulation and ulcer prevention. The combined approach holds promise for integrating into comprehensive diabetes care programs to enhance patients' quality of life and prevent complications. Abstract

This research examines the application of communication patterns in Javanese cultural families and their impact on children's emotional development. Qualitative descriptive methods were used with in-depth analysis of field data. Data was obtained from interviews and observations of 18 families with socio-economic variations. The results show that family communication patterns play a central role in shaping children's emotional development. Authoritarian, permissive, and authoritative/democratic communication patterns were identified as the main patterns. Implementing democratic communication patterns has a positive impact on children's emotional development. Family understanding regarding the relationship between family communication and children's emotional development needs to be improved. The combination of Javanese and modern cultural values and religious life plays an important role in supporting children's emotional development. This research provides an in-depth view of communication patterns and their influence on children's emotional development in the context of Javanese culture. It is hoped that the implications of these findings will help families strengthen positive relationships and support children's emotional well-being in a rich and diverse cultural context. By understanding more deeply about communication patterns in Javanese families and their impact on children's emotional development, it is hoped that this research can provide practical guidance for families in strengthening positive relationships and supporting children's emotional well-being in the unique Javanese cultural context.

The role of communication media in national development is as an agent of renewal or to help introduce social change. The role of information technology in the field of communication is very large, because in the presence of supporting information, effective communication will be created, and with the progress of both fields, development will progress. This study aims to: (1) describe the characteristics of a digital era society that uses communication media, (2) describe the relationship between communication media and national development, and (3) describe the opportunities and challenges that arise in the digital era society, and (4) describe efforts that must be made in the digital era. This research method is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The researcher was carried out by collecting data in accordance with existing events. Then the data was analyzed by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and then drawing conclusions or verification. The results of the study showed that national development in Indonesia will be realized well if there is a communication and information media in the form of a social network that is used by the community correctly, ethically and can be accounted for its truth. Development information can reach the wider community through cooperation between the community and the local government, namely by holding counseling in all places where the community is evenly distributed.

Abstract

Digital broadcasting has rapidly evolved in recent decades, transforming the way people access information and consume entertainment, especially with the growth of platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. In Indonesia, this evolution presents both opportunities and challenges for the preservation of the nation’s cultural identity amidst the wave of globalization. This study aims to explore how digital broadcasting can be used as a tool to promote and preserve Indonesian culture, as well as the challenges it faces in maintaining local cultural authenticity. By employing a qualitative approach, including digital media content analysis, in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and thematic analysis, the study examines how Indonesian cultural content is presented on digital platforms, the involvement of young people in cultural preservation, and the obstacles such as global cultural homogenization, lack of policy support, and competition from global content. The findings suggest that digital platforms provide significant opportunities for broader exposure and cultural diversification, but they also present challenges that require strategic approaches to protect and promote Indonesia's cultural heritage in a digital era

Abstract

The Statistics Love Village Program helps improve the ability of village officials in efficiently managing potential village data. In Tanjung Pasir Village, limitations in administrative data processing have been an obstacle in data-based decision-making. Therefore, mentoring and training are needed to optimize data administration management. The aim of this activity is to optimize data administration management through mentoring and training for village officials in Tanjung Pasir Village through the Statistics Love Village Program. The Statistics Study Program and the Statistics Corner of Matana University collaborate with the Central Statistics Agency of Tangerang Regency in implementing this program. The results of this activity include mapping data on the number of aquaculture businesses and the total production volume of aquaculture. Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that the potential business sector in Tanjung Pasir Village is mainly engaged in milkfish farming, with most of the total aquaculture production being in brackish water. Based on the mapping of this potential data, it is hoped that village officials can make more targeted policies and improve community welfare.

Abstract

The production risk of shallots is very high due to their vulnerability to pest attacks, diseases, and climate change, which creates uncertainty that may cause significant losses for farmers. Insurance protection has therefore become a necessity as an effort to mitigate financial losses and maintain farmers’ stability even in the event of crop failure. Accordingly, this study aims to analyze the production factors of shallots in determining agricultural insurance premiums. The study employs the Cobb-Douglas production function to analyze production factors and the pure premium model to calculate shallot insurance premiums. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to shallot farmers in Tasikmalaya Regency, with 50 respondents included in the analysis. Based on the results, the determination of shallot insurance premiums using the expectation principle produces higher premium values compared to the standard deviation principle. Premiums under the expectation principle are more sensitive to risk variation, whereas the standard deviation principle tends to yield more conservative and relatively stable premiums. The analysis applies the Cobb-Douglas regression model, with shallot production (Y) as the dependent variable, and land area (X1), seeds (X2), fertilizer (X3), pesticide use (X4), and labor (X5) as independent variables, resulting in a coefficient of determination (R²) of 96.2%. The findings imply that the expectation principle is more appropriate for calculating insurance premiums under conditions of high and fluctuating production risk, while the standard deviation principle is more suitable for relatively stable risk conditions. These results can serve as a basis for formulating agricultural insurance policies that are adaptive to risk variation, while simultaneously promoting more effective financial protection for shallot farmers.
