Abstract

The research conducted in this development is aimed at producing STEM-based learning media products in physics subjects, especially in temperature and heat materials to improve students' mastery of concepts that are valid, practical, and effective. The design of this study uses a 4D model in the form of Design, Define, Disseminate, and Development. With STEM-based learning media in the form of a digital calorimeter as a product being developed. Test instruments, validation sheets, and response questionnaires were used as data collection techniques. Evaluation of product validity was carried out by three media experts and material experts and used Aiken-V as a method of analysis. The practicality of the product is analyzed using the practicality test while the effectiveness is obtained by increasing students' mastery of concepts with ¬N-gain. The results of the validator's assessment of the digital calorimeter media showed an average result of Aiken-V of 0.94 which was very valid. The average results for the practicality assessment of the developed media can be seen from the student response questionnaire which shows a value of 4.51 in the fairly practical category. The average result for the effectiveness of the developed media can be seen from the increase in mastery of the concept, which is equal to 0.60 with high criteria. So it can be concluded that STEM-based physics learning media to improve students' mastery of concepts is valid, practical, and effective

Abstract

The use of TPACK in 21st Century Science learning can facilitate teachers and students to be more active in learning and make it easier for students to have the expected 21st-century competencies. This study aims to identify and analyze TPACK research trends in 21st-century science learning in the form of TPACK documents, classification of journal rankings, classification of authors and their country of origin, and classification of keywords. This research is qualitative research. The data used in this study were obtained from documents indexed by Google Scholar from 2012-2022 using Publish or Perish and dimension.ai. Research procedures using PRISMA guidelines. Methods of data analysis using bibliometric analysis assisted by VOSviewer software. The results of the analysis show that the trend of writing TPACK articles in 21st Century Science learning has increased significantly from 2016 to 2020. Most journals that contain articles about TPACK in 21st Century Science learning are Educational and Information Technologies and Computers & Education. The results of the density mapping analysis show that the themes that are rarely researched are ICT investigation, curriculum, effectiveness, teacher knowledge, foreign language, teacher education, and TPACK instrument.

Abstract

The problems in this study are related to project-based learning models, PhET simulations, and students' creative thinking skills in elasticity material. This research is experimental, with pretest and posttest control designs. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA SMAN 1 Wanasaba East Lombok, while the sample was class XI IPA II as the experimental class and class IPA I as the control class; each class had 31 students, which was in accordance with the sampling technique used, namely purposive sampling. The experimental class uses a project-based learning model assisted by PhET simulations, while the control class uses a conventional learning model. The test instrument used is a description of four items on elasticity. The results of the pre-test data analysis of students' creative thinking skills in the experimental class and the control class were not much different. After being given the treatment, the average value of the post-test experimental class was 68.80, and the average value of the control class was 65.51. The results of the post-test t test showed a significance (2 tailed) smaller than 0.050, so it could be concluded that the PjBL model assisted by the PhET simulation had an effect on the creative thinking skills of students on elasticity material.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problem based learning models assisted by PhET simulations on student learning outcomes in wave material. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research with nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class XI MAN 1 Mataram. The research samples were students in class XI MIPA 3 with a total of 31 people as the control class and students in class XI MIPA 4 with a total of 29 students as the experimental class. The test instrument used is in the form of multiple choice questions. The results of the analysis show that the average score of physics learning outcomes in the psychomotor domain in the experimental class is 3.43, while for the control class the average value is 3.06. Analysis of physics learning outcomes in the affective domain of the experimental class was 3.34, while for the control class the average value was 3.13. The results of the questionnaire analysis of student responses in the experimental class obtained an average of 63.63. The results of testing the hypothesis using the t-test obtained a tcount of 6.45 and a ttable of 2.00. Thus the value of tcount is greater than ttable then Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This means that there is an influence of the problem-based learning model assisted by PhET simulations on student learning outcomes in wave material.

Abstract

The demands of globalization and the change of educational paradigms, bringing new policies in the field of education in Indonesia, namely the application of the curriculum MBKM (Merdeka Learning Kampus Merdeka), with the main characteristic is project-based learning that aims to develop soft skills and build the character of student profile Pancasila on pupils. In addition, today's science learning is still faced with challenges and problems, which are caused by the lack of participation of students in the learning process, lack of motivation and interest of students to learn science, inadequacy of learning materials with the needs and environment of students, inappropriate learning methods, as well as non-variative and innovative learning resources such as lack of use of tools. Then to solve this problem one of the ways you can do is by giving training to make science gear. So, the purpose of this activity is to train the teacher in making science gear, especially related to the use of ice cream sticks used as the basic material for building media structures of DNA and RNA. This dedication activity has been carried out locally, located in the Pondok Pesantren Attohiriyah Alfadiliyah Bodak, Central Lombok. The implementation of service activities has been carried out well, through three stages, namely, preparation, implementation, to evaluation and reporting. Abstract

The reliability of pedagogical practice is highly dictated by how it enhances science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) students’ critical thinking achievement. Adequate pedagogical practice is thus needed in line with the demands of STEM learning in the 21st century, namely achieving optimal critical thinking. This paper reports this pedagogical practice on a topic of polymer film fabrication irradiated with gamma rays. The specific objective was to analyze STEM students’ critical thinking performance in literacy of the aforementioned topic. It is an exploratory study with an experimental method. Only one treatment group was involved, they were STEM students attending the Material Physics Courses. By employing valid critical thinking instruments and adequate methods of analysis, the findings show that literacy on the assigned topic significantly improved STEM students’ CT skills. It was proven that the mean scores of CT indicators have increased in all aspects of the CT assessed. The statistical analysis confirmed that there were significant differences in the CT skills of STEM students between the observations before and after the learning process intervention. The implication of this study is that pedagogical interventions integrated with studies on advanced material modification technology could be effectively used for creating inspiring STEM learning, especially for training STEM students’ critical thinking ways.
