Abstract

Purpose: This study investigates the extent to which learning motivation and perceived parental financial support influence students’ intention to pursue higher education, focusing on 11th-grade students in a rural Indonesian high school. It addresses a research gap concerning educational aspirations among underserved youth in developing regions. Methodology: A quantitative explanatory design was employed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. Data were collected from 127 purposively selected students at SMAN 1 X Koto Singkarak. Constructs for learning motivation, perceived parental financial support, and college intention were measured using validated items on a 5-point Likert scale. The analysis assessed the measurement model (validity and reliability) and structural model (path coefficients).  Findings: Both learning motivation (β = 0.344; p < 0.001) and perceived parental financial support (β = 0.219; p < 0.01) positively and significantly influence college intention. The model explains 20.2% of the variance in students’ educational aspiration (R² = 0.202). Learning motivation was the stronger predictor, highlighting the critical role of internal psychological drivers despite economic limitations. Originality: This research offers new insights into how psychological and economic factors jointly shape college aspirations in rural settings. By integrating Self-Determination Theory within a socio-economic framework using PLS-SEM, the study contributes both theoretically and methodologically Research limitations: Findings are limited to a single rural school, reducing generalizability. The cross-sectional design limits causal inference, and self-reported data may involve bias. Future studies should use broader samples, longitudinal designs, and explore mediating variables such as peer or institutional influence.  Practical implications: The results suggest schools and policymakers should foster student motivation through mentoring and goal-setting, while also enhancing financial access via scholarships and outreach to promote higher education participation in rural areas.

Abstract

This research aims to find out current and future research trends regarding supply chain performance measurement methods. Supply chain management is a vital component in the modern retail industry. In the face of fierce competition, retail companies are required to manage their supply chains efficiently in order to meet consumer demand quickly, maintain stock balance, and optimize distribution costs. SCOR is one of the methods commonly used to measure and evaluate supply chain performance. Bibliometric is an analytical approach that uses bibliographic data as an indicator to measure productivity, impact, and relationships between research entities. The two approaches used in this study are Bibliographic coupling and Co-Word Analysis. During June 2025, a search was carried out on the Scopus database and 202 documents were found according to predetermined criteria. Document processing uses the Vosviewer application which shows the visualization of a mesh diagram dividing the document into 4 clusters (red, yellow, green and blue) for analysis with the Bibliographic Coupling method which shows that the research trend on SCOR in the last two decades has focused on the use of SCOR for performance measurement and evaluation, integration of SCOR with other methods for strategy determination.  As for the Co-Word Analysis method, VosViewer groups documents into 3 clusters (red, green, blue) which shows the results that in the future SCOR research can be combined with technology and digitalization to map supply chain processes in order to achieve sustainability goals.

Abstract

Purpose This community service was initiated to address the lack of standardization and limited engagement in the implementation of Safety Talk sessions at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Divre II West Sumatera. Despite being conducted regularly, these HSE communication activities lacked clear structure, facilitator guidance, and evaluation mechanisms, which hindered their effectiveness in fostering a preventive safety culture. Methods - The activity adopted a participatory and qualitative approach, involving field observation during a student internship, stakeholder interviews, and collaborative intervention design. Key stages included needs assessment, SOP drafting, facilitator training design, internal coaching sessions, and validation. Result and Discussions - The intervention successfully produced a structured Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) tailored to the organization’s Safety Talk program, alongside a facilitator training module to enhance communication skills and session delivery. Internal coaching sessions validated the practicality of both tools, leading to increased engagement and positive feedback from participants. The program documentation was formally handed over to the organization as part of the knowledge transfer process. Conclusion - The integration of SOP and facilitator training transformed Safety Talk from a routine obligation into a strategic platform for HSE awareness and behavioral change. To sustain impact, continuous monitoring, institutional support, and regular capacity building are recommended. This model offers a replicable framework for strengthening HSE communication in other high-risk industries.
