Abstract

There are numerous small-scale homestay businesses in the Lima Puluh Kota Regency along with the development of tourist destinations in this region. Several studies have found that small-scale businesses could grow in terms of competition and performance if they have market and technology orientation. This article aims to investigate whether the homestay business in Lima Puluh Kota Regency is market and technology-oriented. This study utilized descriptive analysis research design. The investigation was conducted using questionnaire and interviews on consumer orientation, competitor orientation, technology policy, and position and adoption, which were randomly distributed to 55 homestay business owners as the sample. The questionnaires adopted the scales of Harerro (2018) and Al Ansari et al. (2013), with sound psycometric characteristics. SPSS v26 was used to process the data.  This study found that the owners or managers of the homestay in Lima Puluh Kota Regency have been pretty good market-oriented, and nevertheless in few numbers, among them have a technology orientation. These findings are believed contribute to tourism and family business literature especially in homestay business.

Abstract

Orientasi pasar adalah budaya yang ada dalam suatu usaha dimana seluruh komponen usaha berkeyakinan bahwa peningkatan nilai pelanggan akan menggerakkan kinerja usaha. Komponen untuk mengukur apakah sebuah usaha berorientasi pasar salah satunya dikemukan oleh Narver dan Slater (1990) yakni: orientasi pesaing, orientasi pelanggan dan koordinasi antar fungsi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah pengusaha coffe shop di Kota Padang sudah berorientasi pasar dan jika sudah berorientasi pasar adakah hubungannya dengan kinerja usaha mereka. Diketahui coffe shop menjadi salah satu bentuk usaha yang mengalami pertumbuhan dari segi jumlah di Kota Padang, hampir disetiap sudut kota berdiri coffe shop dengan berbagai skala usaha. Untuk menjawab tujuan penelitian disebarkan kuesioner secara online maupun offline pada 103 responden secara accidental sampling. Kuesioner didesain berdasarkan komponen orientasi pasar Narver dan Slater meliputi: orientasi pelanggan dan orientasi pesaing. Untuk komponen koordinasi antar fungsi tidak diukur sebab dalam usaha coffe shop di Kota Padang tidak ada fungsi-fungsi kerja yang jelas, pada umumnya pemilik sekaligus sebagai karyawan dan antar karyawan juga tidak ada unit kerja khusus. Kuesioner juga memuat pertanyaan yang berkaitan dengan kinerja usaha. Data yang diperoleh diolah menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan regresi linear sederhana. Hasilnya pemilik coffe shop di kota Padang sudah mempunyai orientasi pada pasar. Orientasi yang mereka miliki tersebut mempunyai dampak terhadap kinerja usahanya. Dampak yang ditimbulkan masih kecil yakni 9%. Dampak yang kecil tersebut dapat saja disebabkan oleh masih rendahnya pengimplementasian orientasi pasar dalam menjalankan usaha atau disebabkan oleh factor-faktor lain yang tidak terdeteksi dalam variable penelitian.

Abstract

Authentic leadership is a style of leadership that emphasizes openness, sincerity, and honesty. Authentic leaders cultivate real relationships with their people by instilling trust and building a healthy work environment. Evaluating the publicly stated efforts of one world leader in terms of his ability to demonstrate his authentic leadership attributes during the COVID-19 pandemic response. Using existing literature, this article explores how his attitude has helped or hampered his leadership responsibilities. Furthermore, leadership is intimately tied to human resource management, particularly in terms of reacting to the future of work. The term "future of work" refers to a well-informed view of what companies and other organizations need to know about how work can change as a result of digitalization and other developments, as well as how workforces and workplaces should prepare for such changes. Organizations researching the post-COVID-19 future of work must customize their approach to their own circumstances. Therefore, this article also discuss the function of human resources in the workplace of the future.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to review international business articles, particularly what strategies in emerging economies and multinational enterprises subsidiaries strategies. There are two main papers utilized, the first one is Hoskisson, Eden, Lau and Wright's 2000 article, entitled Strategy in Emerging Economies. Strategy formulation and implementation by private and public enterprises in a variety of regional contexts and from three major theoretical perspectives: institutional theory, transaction cost economics, and the resource-based view of the firm. The second paper is Amy J Hillman and William P Wan's 2005 article, The Determinants of MNE Subsidiary Political Strategies: Evidence of Institutional Duality. Using recent theoretical advances in institutional theory that acknowledge that MNE subsidiaries face pressures for isomorphism both within the corporation (internal legitimacy) and within the host country (external legitimacy). A common thread can be drawn between these two articles, namely the use of institutional theory in determining the strategy for multinational enterprises.

Abstract

Gelombang baru disrupsi inovasi menuntut sebuah perubahan yang mendasar pada model layanan informasi dan komunikasi pembangunan pertanian dan pedesaan. Pentingnya peran petani dalam sistem agribisnis tidak berbanding lurus dengan kesejahteraan petani itu sendiri, hal ini karena ada bargaining power petani dalam sistem sangat rendah. Melihat tingginya kemampuan produksi padi di Kabupaten Lombok Timur diharapkan lebih maksimal lagi dengan adanya penerapan digitalisasi pertanian di kabupaten ini. Program pengabdian ini fokus untuk menyusun sebuah sistem aplikasi di lingkunagn petani yang terletak di Desa Rempung Kabupaten Lombok Timur. Metode kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap, menganalisis situasi dengan observasi langsung, wawancara ke pihak-pihak terkait, menetapkan program yang relevan dan membuat aplikasi sistem terintegrasi. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah agar petani dapat memanfaatkan internet dan teknologi agar menunjang pemasaran dan memperluas jangkauan target konsumen melalui digital marketing. Peluang ini hadir dengan solusi aplikasi bernama Musya.id (Aplikasi Usaha dan Bisnis Syariah) yakni aplikasi membantu para petani dan Entrepreneurs didalam meningkatkan perekonomian dan memperoleh konsultasi yang tepat pada usaha yang sedang dijalankan. Aplikasi ini juga dilengkapi fasilitas dan fitur permodalan syariah bagi Entrepreneurs terkendala dengan modal usaha.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah kepemimpinan spiritual pada Bagian Kesekretariatan pada Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian studi kasus yaitu observasi, wawancara dan kuesioner. Kepemimpinan spiritual adalah sebuah teori kausal kepemimpinan spiritual ditawarkan oleh Fry dalam motivasi intrinsik yang menggabungkan visi, harapan atau iman, cinta altruistik, makna atau keterpanggilan, dan keanggotaan. Kepemimpinan spiritual sebagian besar sudah ada pada Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Provinsi Sumatera Barat berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang sudah dilakukan diteliti berdasarkan lima dimensi ini. Dimensi Visi didapatkan hasil persentase penilaian 87,4%. Dimensi harapan atau keyakinan 84,2%. Dimensi Cinta Altruistik didapatkan hasil persentase penilaian 76,5 %. Dimensi makna atau keterpanggilan didapatkan hasil persentase penilaian 72,5%. Dimensi keanggotaan didapatkan hasil persentase penilaian 79,7%. Berdasarkan hasil persentase penilaian responden pada dimensi visi dan harapan/keyakinan menunjukkan interpretasi hampir seluruhnya dan pada dimensi lainnya menunjukkan sebagian besar kepemimpinan spiritual sudah ada pada Dinas Pemuda dan Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Kepemimpinan spiritual yang sudah ada tersebut dan tertanam pada Dispora Sumatera Barat di Bagian Kesekretariatan diharapkan mampu membawa pengaruh yang baik terhadap sesama karyawan maupun instansi sehingga dapat mengelola dan mengatur instansi tersebut dalam mencapai tujuannya.

Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between Human Capital (HC) and Competitive Advantage (CA) in thecoffee shop industry of Bukittinggi, a prominent tourist destination in West Sumatra. Utilizing a quantitative approach,primary data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 55 coffee shop owners. The researchemployed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS to analyze the data, aiming to elucidate how investmentsin human capital contributed to achieving competitive advantage in a highly competitive market. The findings indicated asignificant positive relationship between human capital and competitive advantage, highlighting the critical role ofemployee education, skills, and experience in enhancing business performance. Additionally, the study introduced socialcapital as a vital variable linked to networking within the coffee business community, which further supportedcompetitive advantage. The results emphasized the importance of developing human capital strategies for coffee shopowners to thrive in an evolving marketplace. These insights provided practical implications for l ocal entrepreneurs,policymakers, and stakeholders, suggesting that continued investment in human resources could foster business growthand positively impact the tourism sector in Bukittinggi. Ultimately, this research contributed to the broader understandingof human capital's role in driving competitive advantage within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of online social capital on consumer purchasing interest in thecontext of social commerce. The urgency of this study lies in the increasing number of active users on social media everyyear, making this social commerce trend increasingly growing, because more and more business actors are offering theirproducts and services through social media. This study employs a quantitative approach, focusing on primary data from asurvey of Padang State Polytechnic students as the population. The data is processed using the Structural Equation Model(SEM) to test the hypothesis with the SmartPLS 4.0 program. The results of the study indicate that online social capitalhas a positive effect on consumer purchasing interest. Through these findings, it is hoped that it will contribute tobusiness actors who have used social commerce in their marketing strategies, so that they can take the right policiesthrough the online social capital they have from the experience gained from consumers, and it is recommended forbusiness actors who have not used social commerce to be able to use it along with the massive use of social media today.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze and show the effect of investment knowledge, risk preferences, and investment returns on student investment interest. This research uses quantitative methods with regression analysis. The research population was 3,710 students of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, State Islamic University of Mataram. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling. The sample size was calculated using the Slovin approach to obtain a sample of 98 respondents. The data source comes from primary data in questionnaires and secondary data from the literature. Data analysis was carried out with several tests, including validity tests, reliability tests, classic assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, and coefficient of determination tests using IBM SPSS version 21 software. The results of this study indicate that investment knowledge and returns positively and significantly affect student investment interest. Risk preference does not influence student investment interest. These findings can be used as a reference for policymaking for the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in increasing the number of investors targeting the millennial generation.

Abstract

The Jurnal Kajian Pariwisata dan Perhotelan (JKPH) plays a crucial role in bridging academic research and practical applications in the tourism and hospitality industry. This paper outlines a strategic roadmap to enhance the journal’s impact, credibility, and relevance. Utilizing SWOT Analysis, Literature Review, Comparative Analysis, Stakeholder Surveys, Environmental Scanning, and Case Study Analysis, the study identifies key areas for improvement. The findings emphasize the need to establish clear research focus areas, enhance publication standards through rigorous peer-review processes, foster collaborations with academic and industry stakeholders, and leverage digital technology for wider accessibility and global visibility. By implementing these strategies, JKPH can strengthen its position as a leading academic journal in the field. The proposed framework serves as a guide for developing JKPH into a high-quality, indexed journal that contributes to both academic scholarship and industry advancements. Jurnal Kajian Pariwisata dan Perhotelan (JKPH) memiliki peran penting dalam menjembatani penelitian akademik dengan praktik industri pariwisata dan perhotelan. Artikel ini menguraikan roadmap strategis untuk meningkatkan dampak, kredibilitas, dan relevansi jurnal. Dengan menggunakan Analisis SWOT, Tinjauan Pustaka, Analisis Komparatif, Survei Pemangku Kepentingan, Pemindaian Lingkungan, dan Analisis Studi Kasus, penelitian ini mengidentifikasi area utama yang perlu diperbaiki. Hasil kajian menyoroti pentingnya penetapan fokus penelitian yang jelas, peningkatan standar publikasi melalui proses peer-review yang ketat, penguatan kolaborasi dengan akademisi dan industri, serta pemanfaatan teknologi digital untuk meningkatkan aksesibilitas dan visibilitas global. Dengan menerapkan strategi ini, JKPH dapat memperkuat posisinya sebagai jurnal akademik terkemuka di bidang pariwisata dan perhotelan. Kerangka kerja yang diusulkan menjadi panduan bagi pengembangan JKPH menjadi jurnal berkualitas tinggi yang diindeks dan berkontribusi pada pengembangan ilmu dan praktik industri.
