Abstract

Tari Piring is a traditional art which can be found in almost every village or nagari inMinangkabau. The nagari of Padang Magek, in the Tanah Datar Regency of West Sumatra, is avillage which owns and preserves the existence of Tari Piring. The Tari Piring that is owned andmaintained by the people of Padang Magek essentially reflects the dignity of the village chief inleading and educating his people. As an integral part of the socio-cultural life of the people ofPadang Magek, this dance has a specific function and purpose associated with the object andpurpose of the performance. From the analysis that was carried out, the results obtained indicatethat Tari Piring serves as 1) the expression of emotions, 2) aesthetic appreciation, 3) entertainment,4) symbolism, 5) integration of the community, and 6) sustainability for the culture. FurthermoreTari Piring is used for 1) material culture, 2) social institutions, and 3) aestheticalpurposes.

Abstract

Intellectual Property Rights is related to the protection of the application of ideas andinformation that has commercial value, For owners of ideas and information that has commercialvalue, Intellectual Property Rights is a personal wealth that can be owned and treated as same asother forms of wealth. That same treatment is like reselling or renting it. So that ideas andinformation that has commercial value is not used by another person who is not responsible, thenthere must be protection from a legal perspective. This paper briefly discusses about the two categoriesthat are protected under intellectual property rights, namely copyrights and patents. Onthe other side, this paper aims to provide an understanding of the legal aspects of copyright andpatent registration.Keywords: Intellectual Property, Copyright, Patents, Law, Registration

Abstract

This study examines Silampari Kayangan Tinggi dance in Lubuklinggau. Its main focus is on the aspects of form and function in its prsentation. Using the theory of form by Suzanne K. Langer which is described using concept of Y. Sumandiyo Hadi and theory of function by M. Jazuli. This research is a type of qualitative research with an intersubjective approach that emphasize observation in the field by capturing information and illustrated in fact. This dance form is also a development of the Silampari dance which is the root of the welcoming dance in Lubuklinggau city and Musi Rawas district. This dance ia a guest welcoming dance perfomed by woman totaling four to ten dancers and two tepak bearers namely Bujang Dere (son and daughter of the city of Lubuklinggau). The result of this study indicate that the Silampari Kayangan Tinggi dance as form of respect to the guest of honor who visited Lubuklinggau.Keywords: Form, Function, Silampari Kayangan Tinggi Dance.

Abstract

Tan Pinng is a traditional art which can be found in every nagan in Minangkabau. Nagari Padang Magek, in Tanah Datar Regency West Sumatera Province, is a nagan which has and maintains Tan Piring. As a traditional art, Tan Pinng holds certain aesthetic values. The aesthetic values are reflected by unity, complexity, and intensity a series of mevements supported by other aspects like costumes, ivoperties, musics, and the like in their presentation. Key word.
