Abstract

Indonesia memiliki kekayaan alam yang melimpah termasuk kekayaan pesisir seperti vegetasi mangrove. Hal ini menjadi sebuah tantangan besar dalam suatu pengelolaan sumber daya alam. Vegetasi mangrove yang terletak pada pertemuan antara sungai dan laut, menjadikan penginderaan jauh sebagai faktor yang berperan penting dalam menganalisis kerapatan vegetasi. Dengan bantuan data yang dihasilkan dari pengolahan citra menggunakan metode NDVI dalam menganalisis kerapatan, sebaran dan luasan mangrove, tentunya dapat menjadi suatu acuan dalam menganalisis kondisi kerapatan vegetasi dengan berbagai kelas yang ditentukan, yaitu jarang, sedang, dan rapat. Kawasan Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon adalah kawasan taman nasional terbesar di Jawa. Luas kawasan ini yaitu sekitar 120.551 hektar, terdiri dari 76.214 hektar daratan dan 44.337 hektar laut. Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon memiliki tiga ekosistem utama, yaitu ekosistem perairan laut, ekosistem pesisir pantai, dan ekosistem daratan/terestrial. Kawasan mangrove di Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon terdapat di sepanjang pesisir pantai bagian timur laut Semenanjung Ujung Kulon dan pulau di sekitarnya. Dengan analisis penginderaan jauh menggunakan metode NDVI dari tahun 2015 hingga 2021, kawasan mangrove di Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon masih didominasi mangrove kerapatan sedang dan rapat. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan kawasan ekosistem mangrove di Taman Nasional Ujung Kulon masih terjaga.Keywords: remote sensing, mangrove, vegetation density

Abstract

Air quality is a crucial parameter in human life. One air quality indicator can be observed through Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD). If these substances are pollutants such as particulate matter, aerosols, and ozone, it is confident that air quality will deteriorate, threatening human health and causing climate change. AOD monitoring can be used as a basis for policymakers and related parties to maintain the stability of air quality in the atmosphere. Many ground observation stations monitor air quality by obtaining data on PM2.5 and PM10 aerosol particles. However, the number of ground stations is limited, resulting in incomplete data. Fortunately, remote sensing satellites have the advantage of covering large areas and providing continuous observations, with the ability to gather information on large-scale aerosol and obtain spatiotemporal distribution. Therefore, this research aims to obtain AOD through Himawari-8 and analyze the spatiotemporal air quality in urban areas of West Java based on AOD. The research methodology used in this study is descriptive analysis with an empirical research approach. Assisted by remote sensing technology and Geographic Information Systems, this research generates AOD data extraction that can be obtained from the new generation satellite of Himawari-8. The distribution of AOD levels and spatiotemporal monitoring in urban areas of West Java is very dynamic depending on anthropogenic activity in a particular area and time. Keywords: Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD), Air Quality, Himawari-8

Abstract

Vegetation monitoring using vegetation indices is widely applied in satellite image analysis to understand vegetation distribution and density. However, its accuracy is often affected by atmospheric disturbances and soil background noise. MSARVI (Modified Soil and Atmospheric Resistance Vegetation Index) was developed to address these issues, yet its application remains limited. This study aims to analyze vegetation density and evaluate the accuracy of the MSARVI index using Sentinel-2A imagery in Cigugurgirang Village. The methodology includes processing Sentinel-2A imagery to calculate MSARVI values, classifying vegetation density levels, and validating results using field reference data. MSARVI is computed by integrating atmospheric and soil background corrections to enhance vegetation detection accuracy. The results indicate that Cigugurgirang Village is predominantly covered by high-density vegetation, spanning an area of 147.71 ha. The accuracy assessment yielded an overall accuracy of 87.50% and a kappa accuracy of 83.34%, demonstrating high reliability. These findings confirm that MSARVI is an effective method for vegetation density mapping with high accuracy.
