Abstract

Continuous sun exposure to the skin will cause skin damage due to the oxidative effects of free radicals. Phenolic compounds in the form of antioxidants can act as sunscreens to prevent adverse effects due to UV radiation. Positive corn silk contains phenols and flavonoids, which are compounds that have the potential to act as sunscreens and anti-oxidants. This research method was carried out by collecting roasted corn hair waste samples to be made dry simplicia, then extraction extraction with 70% ethanol solvent. The extract obtained was then formulated into a cream with a concentration variation of 1, 5 and 10%. Furthermore, an evaluation of the physical quality of the cream preparation and antioxidant activity test using the DPPH method were also tested for the SPF value. The results showed that the evaluation of the quality of the cream preparations met the requirements. The antioxidant activity test of cream preparations is categorized as very weak. Test the SPF value of cream preparations including the maximum protection category in formulation III.

Abstract

Free radicals might cause harmful effects on the skin, such as skin irritation, change of skin color, and worst effect. Phenolics play a role as effective sunscreen and antioxidants to prevent UV radiation effects. Corn silk contains flavonoids, which are antioxidants that are potential as sunscreen. Phenolic compounds can be identified by phytochemical screening using the tube method. The study aims to know the antioxidant activity of purified extract of roasted corn silks (Zea Mays L. saccharata) and know the SPF level of the cream preparation. The study was conducted by collecting samples of roasted corn silks waste to make dried simplicial, then extracting it with 70% ethanol as solvent, evaporated till condensed extract is gotten. The obtained extract was then purified with n-hexane solvent. The antioxidant activity test was conducted by using the DPPH method. The cream of the purified extract was made in three formulations: 1%, 5%, and 10% concentration. Its SPF levels were then evaluated. The results showed the purified corn silks extract had an IC50 value of 256.66 µg/mL better compared to corn silks ethanol extract having an IC50 value of 356.17 µg/mL including the weak antioxidant category. Meanwhile, the SPF level test results for concentration of 1%, 5%, and 10%  are 1.27 ; 2.41; and 5.94 respectively.

Abstract

Kediri dikenal sebagai Kota Tahu dimana banyak usaha kecil menengah yang memproduksi usaha tahu. Salah satu kelompok usaha tahu yang berada di Kediri adalah Kelompok Utaran (Usaha Tahu rumahan) yang berada di Desa Badal Pandean Kabupaten Kediri. Dalam keseharian, kelompok Utaran telah memproduksi tahu, menghasilkan bahan sampingan yang belum dimanfaatkan yaitu ekstrak kedelai. Sari kedelai memiliki beberapa manfaat seperti mencegah penuaan dini, melindungi kerusakan kulit dari sinar ultra violet, serta mencegah terbetuknya jerawat. Melihat besarnya manfaat sari kedelai, maka salah satu limbah produksi tahu kelompok Utaran, dapat pula dijadikan salah satu bahan tambahan pada produksi sabun. Hal ini dilakukan karena sabun menjadi kebutuhan yang penting terutama pada masa pandemi Covid-19 ini. Metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan, pelatihan, dan pendampingan dalam produksi, pengemasan serta pemasaran produk sabun “Utaran”. Pengabdian masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan sisa tahu yang tidak terjual menjadi sabun ektrak tahu telah dilakukan. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan mitra tentang pemanfaatan ektrak tahun menjadi sabun meningkat menjadi 100%. Disamping itu, pelatihan pembuatan tahu menghasilkan mitra mampu membuat sabun ekstrak tahu dengan sangat baik. Pelatihan pengemasan produk juga telah dilakukan untuk menjaga keberlanjutan program. Kata kunci: sabun, homemade, ektrak kedelai, kelompok usaha tahu, covid-19 ABSTRACT Kediri is understood because the City of Tofu where many small and medium businesses produce tofu businesses. one among the tofu business groups in Kediri is that the Utaran Group (home-based Tofu Business) located in Badal Pandean Village, Kediri Regency. In their lifestyle, the Utaran group has produced tofu, producing a by-product that has unused, namely soybean extract. Soybean juice has several benefits like preventing premature aging, protecting skin damage from ultraviolet rays, and preventing acne from forming. Seeing the good benefits of soybean juice, one among the assembly wastes of the Utara group also can be used as another ingredient in soap production. This soap-making program was administered because soap became a crucial necessity, especially during this Covid-19 pandemic. The methods used are counseling, training, and help within the production, packaging, and marketing of " Utaran" soap products. Community service to use the remaining tofu that's unsold into tofu extract soap has been administered. The results of this activity showed that the knowledge of partners about the utilization of year extract into soap increased to 100%. Additionally, the tofu-making training resulted in partners having the ability to form tofu extract soap all right. Abstract

Daun cabe rawit (Capsicum frustenses L.) dapat digunakan sebagai pengobatan jerawat. Daun cabe rawit telah diketahui mengandung senyawa aktif flavonoid yang memiliki efektivitas sebagai antibakteri. Pada penelitian ini daun cabe rawit dikembangkan menjadi sediaan masker gel peel-off. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan karakteristik atau mutu fisik formulasi sediaan masker gel peel-off dari ekstrak etanol daun cabe rawit (Capsicum frustenses L.) dan mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri dari formulasi sediaan masker gel peel-off ekstrak etanol daun cabe rawit (Capsicum frustenses L.) tehadap bakteri Staphylococcus Aureus. Daun cabe rawit di ekstraksi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70 % dengan metode ekstraksi maserasi. Ekstrak yang didapat dibuat sediaan masker gel peel-off dengan variasi konsentrasi yang berbeda yaitu 5 %, 10 %, 15 %. Sediaan masker gel peel-off yang sudah dibuat dilakukan pengujian karakteristik meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat, waktu mengering, iritasi dan uji aktivitas antibakteri. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode difusi cakram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masker gel peel-off ekstrak etanol daun cabai rawit (Capsicum frustenses L.) memenuhi parameter uji mutu fisik yaitu organoleptik, homogenitas, daya sebar, daya lekat, waktu mengering dan uji aktifitas antibakteri pada konsentrasi I sebesar 4,11 mm, formulasi II dan III masing-masing 5,48 mm dan 7,11 mm.

Abstract

One of the villages that has extensive agricultural land and a lot of agricultural products, including abundant local plants, is Surat Village, Mojo District. Surat Village is one of the villages located in Mojo District, Kediri Regency, most of the people in Surat Village have knowledge about the potential of local plants in this village. The purpose of this socialization is to educate villagers about the potential of local plants to be developed into herbal medicineThe implementation of this socialization activity consists of three methods such as; observation, socialization, and demonstration of how to make herbal medicine, the herbal medicine made is ''jamu ginger fragrant'' based on the socialization activity, many villagers enthusiastically participated in the activity, there were some people who were interested in using local plants to make herbal medicine, and all the spectators can understand how to make healthy drinks or ginger-based herbs The final result of this socialization, it can be concluded that the socialization of how to make fragrant ginger herbs from local plants in Surat Village was a success, the villagers were very enthusiastic, and the audience knew how to make fragrant ginger herbs. This socialization is expected to increase the community's ability to understand how herbal medicine is produced from medicinal plants in Surat village.

Abstract

Hair loss is one of the hair problems that often happens to anyone. hibiscus leaves (Hibiscus rosa-sinensisL.) have traditionally been recognized as having an activity that stimulates hair growth. To make it easier to use, it needs to be made in preparations that are practical and comfortable to use, such as in the form of cream. This study aims to determine the hair growth activity of cream preparations of ethanol extract of hibiscus leaves with concentrations of 10%, 15%, and 20%. In addition, physical quality tests and stability tests of cream preparations were also carried out. Observation of hair activity was carried out by calculating the rate of hair growth in 3 white rabbits. The Stability test was carried out at room temperature storage (25°C ± 2°C). The results of statistical analysis using way ANOVA Repeated measures obtained a significant value of 0.000 (p <0.05). From this significance value, it can be interpreted that there is a significant difference in hair growth activity between all treatment groups. The results showed that hibiscus leaf extract hair growth cream showed hair growth activity the best at a concentration of 20%. The results of the physical quality test of cream at FI had the best characteristics because it produced a physical quality value that was better than FII and FIII. The results of the physical stability test showed that the ethanol extract of hibiscus leaf hair growth cream had good physical stability.

Abstract

Pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urb) merupakan tanaman yang memiliki banyak manfaat salahsatunya antioksidan. Sediaan granul effervescent adalah sediaan yang terdiri dari campuran senyawaasam dan basa yang jika bereaksi dengan air akan membebaskan karbondioksida, sehingga terjadiadanya buih. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan formulasi dan mengetahui ujimutu serta aktivitas antioksidan dalam sediaan granul effervescent dengan variasi kombinasi sumberasam. Metode: Herbal pegagan diformulasikan dalam bentuk sediaan granul effervescent denganperbedaan variasi kombinasi sumber asam. Evaluasi sediaan meliputi uji organoleptik, kadarlembap, kecepatan alir, sudut diam, kompresibilitas, distribusi ukuran partikel, pH, laju larut danaktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruhvariasi kombinasi sumber asam terhadap mutu sediaan yaitu uji kecepatan alir, sudut diam,kompresibilitas, distribusi ukuran partikel, pH dan laju larut. Namun tidak memiliki pengaruh padauji organoleptik dan kadar lembap. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan didapatkan rata-rata nilai IC50 ekstrak 35,28±0,14, formulasi 1 58,27±0,40, formulasi 2 48,83±0,23 dan formulasi 3 74,44±0,01.Kesimpulan: Perbedaan variasi kombinasi sumber asam mempengaruhi uji kecepatan alir, sudutdiam, kompresibilitas, distribusi ukuran partikel, pH dan laju larut, namun tidak mempengaruhi ujiorganoleptik dan kadar lembap serta sediaan granul effervescent herba pegagan memiliki aktivitasantioksidan kategori kuat-sangat kuat.

Abstract

Tubuh yang sehat sangat diperlukan agar lebih produktif dalam menjalankan kehidupan sehari-hari. Untuk menjaga tubuh tetap sehat dan bugar, alternatif minuman kesehatan salah satunya adalah dengan rutin mengkonsumsi JJKS (jeruk, jahe, kunyit serai). Minuman ini mengandung beberapa zat berkhasiat  seperti flavonoid, gingerol, kurkumin dan minyak atsiri. Khasiat dari minuman ini sudah tidak diargukan kembali karena sudah diteliti dari berbagai keahlian ilmu pengetahuan. Pengaplikasian minuman ini belum banyak diketahui oleh masyarakat pada umumnya, biasanya masih menggunakan seduhan tunggal (jahe atau jeruk saja). Peningkatan pengetahuan tentang JJKS (jeruk, jahe, kunyit, serai) perlu disosialisasikan sehingga pengabdian ini dilaksanakan. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah masyarakat berani mengaplikasikan dalam seduhan minuman kesehatan. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di rumah warga RT 14 Campurejo, Mojoroto, Kediri. Metode yang digunakan adalah pemberian presentasi materi, pretest, postest, diskusi dan konsultasi setelah acara pengabdian. Hasil pengabdian didapatkan masyarakat mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan terhadap minuman JJKS (jeruk, jahe, kunyit,serai) penggunaan 25%, khasiat 30% dan kandungan JJKS 45%. Testimoni diberikan langsung setelah minum rutin JJKS selama tiga hari, disebutkan bahwa menstruasi lancar kembali setelah selama 6 bulan berhenti.

Abstract

Pada sediaan topikal, antioksidan adalah sebagai pemangsa radikal bebas sekaligus pelindung kulit. Antioksidan alami dari ekstrak daun pegagan (Centella asiatica (L.) Urban) diduga mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan yang tergolong sangat kuat. Selain itu ekstrak daun pegagan juga mengandung senyawa triterpenoid dan fenol yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan carbopol 940 pada karakteristik dan kandungan antioksidan pada gel facial wash ekstrak daun pegagan. Daun pegagan diekstraksi dengan teknik maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 70% kemudian dilakukan skrining fitokimia untuk mengetahui kandungan fitokimia pada ekstrak daun pegagan. Gel facial wash merupakan sediaan topikal yang berguna untuk membersihkan kotoran. Formulasi gel facial wash menggunakan ekstrak daun pegagan 8% dengan variasi konsentrasi gelling agent carbopol 940 1%, 1,5%, dan 2%. Evaluasi sediaan yang dilakukan meliputi uji organoleptis, uji pH, uji viskositas dan uji iritasi.  Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan secara in vitro menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhidrazyl). Hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan carbopol 940 berpengaruh pada karakteristik sediaan dan masih memenuhi persyaratan mutu fisik. Nilai IC50 pada gel facial wash formulasi I 92,37 ppm, formulasi II 86,52 ppm, dan formulasi III 78,05 ppm. Dari Nilai IC50 yang didapat diketahui bahwa gel facial wash ekstrak daun pegagan formulasi III yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang paling kuat untuk melawan radikal bebas.
