Abstract

Indonesia's marine sediment export policy has become a controversial topic among the public, especially in relation to environmental and socio-economic impacts. This research aims to analyze public sentiment towards Indonesia's marine sediment export policy via the X.com platform (formerly Twitter) using Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques. Data was taken during the period September to October 2024 using the scraping method using the Twitter API. The dataset consisting of 72 tweets was processed through a data preprocessing step to remove irrelevant elements. Sentiment is analyzed using the BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) model, which allows deep detection of sentiment context. The analysis results show that 67% of tweets contain negative sentiment, 25% are neutral, and 8% are positive. This finding shows that the public is worried about the impact of marine sediment export policies.

Abstract

Kampung Batu Lubang Pantai is located in Makbon District, Sorong Regency, and is part of the marine tourism area in Southwest Papua. So far, tourists/visitors are primarily familiar with Tanjung Batu Lubang tourism, even though there are many other tourism potentials, such as beach tourism (Bainggik Beach, Bainggik Tengah, Klaswonik, Pasir Pendek, Kladimala, Tanjung Batu Lubang, Pasir Timbul), cultural attractions (A’len dance, Srar dance, Suling Tambur, traditional Moi Tribe houses), religious sites (Gospel Monument, Hill of the Cross), and local wisdom products (noken Banto, kal’uk head covers, kal’dala, kal’lagi, noken kwok ou ukisik, mats). This lack of awareness is due to the insufficient and incomplete dissemination of information, as well as the community’s limited understanding of IT utilization. The purpose of this research is to design and build a website for Kampung Batu Lubang Pantai to assist in spreading information related to village activities and tourist destinations, serving as a tourism promotion tool that can ultimately improve the welfare and economy of the community. The system development method uses the Waterfall model, which includes requirements, design, implementation, verification, and maintenance stages. The applications used include Balsamiq Mockups, draw.io, and Bracket Editor. The result of the research is a village website consisting of menus such as Beranda, Profil, Pemerintahan, Informasi, Galeri, Potensi, and Kontak. System testing using Black Box Testing showed that the menu functions were working well so that it could be handed over to the village.

Abstract

The indigenous people of Papua consist of various tribes and have several different tribes, one tribe which is a traditional Papuan society called Noken. Mr. Meki Murpa is one of the craftsmen and noken sellers located at F. Kalasuat street, Sorong City, West Papua. The problem issued by the noken seller Mr. Meki Murpa is to determine the optimal amount of production of noken sales, so that the maximum sales profit is obtained. This problem can be solved by using the Simplex Method which is one part of the Program. POM-QM software for Windows to be more efficient in the calculation process. The results of the application of this method are to help noki sellers of Mr. Meki Murpa in making decisions, determine the amount of production and calculate the profit of the sale of noken in a period of one week accurately.

Abstract

The Rufei modern market in Sorong City was built to accommodate street vendors but still faces challenges such as low customer traffic and inadequate infrastructure. One affected trader is Kios Rizki, which struggles to maximize profits. To address this issue, the Simplex method is applied as a linear programming approach to find the optimal solution for profit maximization. This method enables iterative calculations to determine the best combination of decision variables. Additionally, POM-QM for Windows, a technology-based software, is used to enhance calculation accuracy and efficiency. The integration of quantitative methods with computational tools demonstrates how technology improves business decision-making. The results of manual calculations using the Simplex method and POM-QM for Windows show that Kios Rizki’s optimal profit is Rp 1,000,000 (one million rupiahs). Thus, implementing the Simplex method with information technology provides a strategic solution for increasing profitability in modern markets and highlights the role of technology in optimizing small businesses.

Abstract

Abstract

The advancement of communication technology has significantly influenced the operational dynamics of postal delivery services, including those at the Aimas Postal Branch Office (KCP Aimas) in Sorong Regency, Southwest Papua. One of the main challenges faced is the assignment problem in allocating employees for package delivery, particularly the imbalance between the number of workers and the volume of tasks. This study aims to optimize task allocation using the Hungarian Method, a linear programming approach specifically designed to solve assignment problems. The data collected include employee names, delivery destinations, and estimated travel times. The analysis involved constructing a mathematical model of the assignment problem and solving it using the Hungarian Method, supported by the POM-QM software. The findings show that the optimal total delivery time is 155 minutes, with an efficient distribution of tasks: Alexander is assigned to housing units 1–3 (40 minutes), I Gede to route Km. 24–26 (65 minutes), and Aristoteles to the Mariat Pantai–Tugu Merah area (50 minutes). These results indicate that the application of the Hungarian Method, supported by POM-QM software, not only accelerates the calculation process but also enhances the accuracy of workload distribution. Overall, this approach contributes significantly to operational efficiency and the improvement of employee productivity.
