Abstract

Introduction: Slang is a branch of Indonesian as a language of social communication. The term began to appear in the late 1980s. Slang is often used as a means of communication among teenagers and even children in a group within a certain period of time. Indeed, children and teenagers have their own language of expression. Objective: This study aims to investigate the effect of the existence of slang on tiktok social media on increasing children's knowledge in understanding slang. Method: The research method used is a lecture method with a descriptive design on a group of children from Kp.Golat.  Result: The implementation of assistance in the introduction of Slang Word (Slang Language) is given to children in Kampung Golat, Pangkalan Village, Pandeglang Regency as mentoring participants and is carried out in the Kp.Golat environment so that they can add insight and can understand about slang languages contained in the Tiktok social media application in order to equip.children.in.facing.technological.developments.and.the.times. Conclusion: By providing assistance regarding the introduction of slang to golat village children, it has proven to be useful for increasing knowledge and understanding of slang found on tiktok social media

Abstract

Abstract: Eka Dewi Fithrotunnisa, Eneng Liah Khoiriyah, Dede Imtihanudin., The Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) and Critical Reading on Students’ Reading Comprehension (A Quasi-experimental Research in the Second Grade Students of Private Junior High School; MTs Muhammadiyah I Ciputat, SMP Darussalam and SMP Islamiyah Ciputat). This research was aimed at proving empirically the effect of collaborative strategic reading (CSR) and critical reading on students’ reading comprehension at the second grade of Private Junior High School in Ciputat. The quantitative method with quasi-experimental design was undertaken to analyze the effect of CSR and critical reading on students’ reading comprehension. The population in this research was all students of three of Private Junior High School in Ciputat in academic year 2022/2023 consisted of 8 classes in which each class had about 20-25 students. Because of time limitation, the target population was grade 8 students. In MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Ciputat is only consisted of 3 classes, SMP Darussalam Ciputat is consisted of 3 classes and SMP Islamiyah is consisted 2 classes. Meanwhile, the samples of this research were two classes of each school at second grade students; one class as experimental class comprised of 20 students, and the other as control class comprised of 20 students as well. These samples were determined by using intake sampling technique because the samples taken were the classes that already existed in that school. It aimed to not interfere the teaching and learning process and procedures that had been established in that school. Reading comprehension data was obtained through multiple choice test. Meanwhile, the data of critical reading was gained through the Essay Test. The results of this study revealed that: (1) there was an effect of Collaborative Strategic Reading on Students’ Reading Comprehension, (2) there was an effect of Critical Reading toward students’ reading comprehension, and (3) there were interactions between CSR and critical reading toward students’ reading comprehension. Abstract

Pendampingan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan literasi bahasa inggris dasar. Penulisan dikembangkan karena anak di Desa Neglasari menalami kesulitan dalam memahami dan membaca bahasa inggris. Hal tersebut membuat anak-anak di Kampung Neglasari Desa Panimbang Jaya setidaknya dapat membaca, menulis dan mengucapkan kata dalam bahasa inggris. Tujuan dari pendampingan ini adalah mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan metode drill pada kosakata bahasa inggris dasar bagi anak usia dini. Subjek dari penulisan ini adalah 10 anak usia sekolah dasar di Desa Panimbang Jaya. Diharapkan pada pembelajaran bahasa inggris dasar dengan metode drill merupakan salah satu alternatif pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan Penulis untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar anak di Kampung Neglasari Desa Panimbang Jaya.

Abstract

Assistance in learning English for elementary school-age children is an important process in developing their langua2ge skills. This mentoring program is designed to introduce children to English in a fun and effective way. This includes the use of a variety of learning methods appropriate to the developmental level of the children. This English learning assistance for primary school age children aims to create a positive and fun learning environment, stimulate children's interest in English, and help them develop communication skills that will be useful throughout their lives. The method used is learning chili singing. This learning assistance is carried out 3 times in 1 week from 19.00 to completion. Based on the padaevaluation and observation results, there is an increase in student learning motivation and students' understanding of English.

Abstract

Sundanese culture is an example of diversity in Indonesia. This culture developed in West Java with positive values applied by each community. The importance of preserving and passing on these teachings to the younger generation does not only apply to the Sundanese community, but also relates to the observance of the Baduy tribe from Banten. This tribe maintains its traditions and special bonds strongly. This research uses an ethnographic approach with qualitative analysis, involving interviews and observations. The obedience of the Baduy community is a concrete example of moral values that encourage us to follow certain principles. Obeying customs and regulations does not mean being stagnant; on the contrary, there are many moral values that we can take from the Baduy community as an example.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct a quantitative analysis of the social influence of outsiders on the lifestyle changes of the Outer Baduy community. The Outer Baduy community is known for maintaining their distinctive traditions and lifestyle. However, globalization and interaction with outside society can have a significant impact on their lifestyle. This research method adopts a quantitative approach by using a research instrument in the form of a questionnaire distributed to members of the Outer Baduy community who have interacted with the outside community. Data collection was conducted in the settlement area of Outer Baduy and its surroundings. The collected data were analyzed using statistical techniques such as regression to identify the relationship and significance level of the social influence of the outside community on lifestyle changes. The result shows that there is a significant relationship between interaction with outside community and lifestyle change of Outer Baduy community. Factors such as education, social media, and outside cultural influences play an important role in this change. While there are positive changes in lifestyle such as increased access to education, there are also aspects that raise concerns, such as the potential loss of traditional values. This research contributes to the understanding of quantitative social impact on the Outer Baduy community due to interaction with the outside community. The implication of this research can be used as the basis for developing a more targeted policy in maintaining the sustainability of culture and traditional values of the Outer Baduy community, while utilizing the potential positive changes that may occur in the process of interaction with the outside community.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of word mapping technique on vocabulary acquisition of 8th grade students of SMPT Mulia Hati Insani Warungunung. The quantitative research method was conducted using a pseudo-experimental design. The sample of this study amounted to 62 students who were divided into experimental and control classes. Tests were used to collect data on students' vocabulary acquisition scores, and t-test was used to analyze the data. For the experimental class, the average post-test score was (75.35), higher than the pre-test score (34.81). From the independent sample t-test analysis, the value of t count (11.096) > t table (1.671) was obtained. It’s mean Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The effect size value of 2.814 indicates a very large influence. In conclusion, there is a significant effect on speaking ability between students who are taught using the word mapping method and those who are not taught using the word mapping method.

Abstract

The Purpose of Research on Seba baduy conducted by STKIP Sheikh Manshur students in Lebak Regency, aims to get to know more closely the Baduy community in preserving their culture in Seba baduy activities. The research method used is descriptive with a functional approach through data collection techniques in the form of interviews and observations. The result of this research illustrates that Seba Baduy activity is the culmination of a ritual event conducted once a year which is intended to express gratitude to God and the government for the welfare of the Baduy community that has been produced in a period of one year. In addition, Seba Baduy activity has a ritual ceremony, this ceremony is a proof of customary recognition and aims to stay in touch between Kanekes community and the government both in the regency and province, namely to the regent and governor officials who informally become the leaders of Baduy community. The best time and date for the ceremony is chosen, especially after the harvest. The seba ceremony is a series of religious or belief systems of the Sunda Wiwitan religion adopted by the Kanekes community, so this ceremony must be carried out because it is an ancestral heirloom that must continue to be maintained and preserved which is passed on continuously to its children and grandchildren in a firm and binding manner. Abstract

This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method to analyze the variation of slang used by the Baduy local community, Desa Kanekes. The data collected is a data primer, which is collected through fieldwork and data collection through questionnaires. The research also uses a survey method to gather information from 10 local residents, focusing on the use of slang and language in their daily lives. The results show that the majority of residents use slang in their daily lives, with some using it in their daily conversations. The study also identifies three slang variations: "On the Way" (OTW), "Lebay", and "COD". OTW is a slang variation that refers to the current time of the conversation, while "Lebay" is a slang variation that refers to the current time of the conversation. COD is a slang variation that refers to the amount of money paid for goods delivered, and it is used by some locals for online transactions. The study highlights the importance of understanding and utilizing slang in the local community.

Abstract

This research is aimed to know the influence of using make a match technique towards students’ speaking ability at Eight Grade of SMPN 3 Kaduhejo. The researcher would like to find the formulation of the problem about Speaking Ability at eight grades of SMPN 3 Kaduhejo.  In this research, researcher used Quantitative research in implementing the quasi experimental design as the research method. The sample that was used in this research was the students of VIII A as the experimental class and VIII B as the control class. Researcher used 47 students as a sample from both of classes. Researcher used SPSS Version 25 to find out the result Pretest and Posttest. Based on the result of the research there was a positive influnece towards students speaking ability which was taught by applying make a match technique. It can be seen from the result of independent samples test that students who were taught by using Make a Match Technique. (experimental group) got score 0.002 which the hypothesis if the score lower than 0.05 then Ha is accepted. Meanwhile, for determining the result of students’ average score from the same group, the researcher decided to use paired samples test. The result showed that alternative hypothesis is accepted because the result of paired samples test was 0.000 which lower than 0.05.
