Abstract

Background: Low Birth Weight Infants (LBW), defined as babies born weighing less than 2,500 grams, are one of the leading causes of neonatal mortality in Indonesia. The lack of postpartum mothers’ knowledge about LBW care contributes to the low survival rate of these infants. WHO data (2022) shows that 15% of babies worldwide are born with LBW, while in Indonesia, the figure reaches 7.1% (Ministry of Health RI, 2023). Objective: This activity aims to enhance postpartum mothers' capacity in caring for LBW infants through structured and practice-based health education. Methods: The community service was conducted on May 7, 2025, at RSUD Padjonga Dg Ngalle, Takalar. The method included a pre-test, delivery of educational material, practical sessions, and a post-test. Thirty postpartum mothers participated under the guidance of lecturers and health professionals. Evaluation focused on participants' knowledge, practical skills, and behavioral changes. Results: The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge (from 26.7% to 83.3% answering more than 80% of the post-test questions correctly). Around 90% of participants were able to correctly perform kangaroo mother care techniques. Moreover, 85% of participants reported increased confidence in caring for their LBW babies at home after the session. Conclusion: This health education activity was effective in improving the knowledge, skills, and confidence of postpartum mothers in caring for LBW infants. The program supports efforts to reduce neonatal mortality and empowers mothers as the primary caregivers in home-based neonatal care.

Abstract

Abstract

This research is motivated by the trade of various kinds of products so that the growth and development of many trading areas have sprung up both managed by the government and the private sector. The existence of this market can provide a large enough visitor attraction so that it can affect land use which results in irregular crowds that affect the performance of road sections resulting in congestion on the road. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the attraction of cakke market visitor movements and the model of attraction of cakke market visitor movements. By distributing questionnaires and interviews to market visitors. The study used the SPSS version 24 application to analyse the data using the correlation and multiple linear regression test methods. The results showed that the factors affecting the amount of attraction of visitor movements based on the results of correlation analysis which showed that there was a strong correlation between hygiene conditions to the attraction of 0.604; and building conditions to the attraction of 0.657; while the correlation that showed a medium between the distance of the house to the attraction of 0.537: total shopping to the attraction of 0.535; and the quality of goods to the attraction of 0.542; while the correlation that showed a low value between parking conditions to the attraction of 0.350 and multiple linear equation models showed the following equation: Y = 0.192 + 0.135x1 + 0.161x2 + 0.206x3 + 0.300x4 + 0.070x5 + 0.124x6.

Abstract

The development of science, especially in the field of transportation, especially roads, requires adequate infrastructure in the form of roads or pavement that is suitable for the conditions in the field. This research aims to determine the analysis of the addition of strapping band fibers on the flexural strength of concrete, the variation in influence is 0.5%, 1 .0%, 1.5%, the best composition for making rigid pavement flexural strength. This research uses experimental research methods, namely research in the laboratory which aims to investigate the effects of each other and compare the results. The research results of 4 variations, namely 0% (normal), 0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5% of fine aggregate, in testing concrete aged 28 days on normal concrete were 3.333 Mpa, for variations of 0.5% on average an average of 2,800 Mpa, a 1.0% variation an average of 2,133 MPa, and a 1.5% variation an average of 1,333 MPa. So it can be concluded that concrete with a variation of 0.5% achieves the design strength and is suitable for use. Meanwhile, variations of 1.0%, 1.5% do not reach the design compressive strength and are not suitable for use in construction.

Abstract

The condition of existing pavement layers in Sidenreng Rappang Regency is generally damaged before reaching the planned age. This study aims to evaluate volumetric marshall on aggregate performance in pavement mixtures and physical properties of aggregates. Experimental methods at the Road and Asphalt Laboratory of Muhammadiyah University of Parepare based on 2018 Bina Marga general specifications. The results of the research with volumetric marshall analysis the maximum stability value of 5.5% was 1469.78 kg and the minimum 4.5% was 1175.82 kg. The maximum VMA value of 6.5% was 16.21% and the minimum 4.5% was 14.25%. The maximum VIM value of 4.5% was 5.54% and the minimum of 6.5% was 3.13%. The maximum VFB value of 6.5% was 80.73% and the minimum of 4.5% was 61.13%. The maximum flow value of 5.5% was 3.67 mm and the minimum of 6% was 3.41 mm. The maximum marshall quotient value of 5.5% was 413.64 kg/mm and the minimum of 4.5% was 323.80 kg/mm. In stability, flow, marshall quotient and VMA have met the 2018 Bina Marga General specifications at asphalt levels of 4.5%, 5.0%, 5, 5%, 6%, and 6.5%. While the VIM and VFA values do not meet the specifications at 4.5% asphalt content. This shows that material quality affects the physical properties of aggregates in the performance of pavement mixtures.
