Abstract

Jamur tiram putih (Pleurotus ostreatus) adalah salah satu jenis jamur yang paling banyak disukai oleh masyarakat dan memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang tinggi. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya variasi olahan seperti nugget, bakso dan jamur krispi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh olahan terhadap kandungan protein jamur tiram putih dan menentukan olahan terbaik dengan menggunakan uji BNT (Beda Nyata Terkecil). Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 taraf perlakuan dan 3 ulangan yaitu jamur tiram putih tanpa perlakuan (kontrol), jamur tiram yang diolah menjadi nugget, jamur tiram putih yang diolah menjadi bakso dan jamur tiram putih yang diolah menjadi jamur krispi. Analisa yang digunakan adalah Analisa of Varian (Anova) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar protein pada jamur tiram putih tanpa perlakuan sebesar14,73 %, jamur tiram putih yang diolah menjadi nugget sebesar 21,62 %, Jamur tiram putih yang diolah menjadi bakso sebesar11,44 % dan Jamur tiram putih yang diolah menjadi jamur tiram krispi sebesar6,48 %. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa olahan mempengaruhi kadar protein jamur tiram putih dan nugget memiliki persentase kadar protein tertinggi yaitu sebesar 21,62% dengan nilai beda nyata 6,89 > 5,96 diterima pada taraf signifikan 5%.

Abstract

Kompleks asam lemak hidroksamat (FHA) dengan beberapa ion logam telah digunakan dalam kimia analitik sebagai reagen untuk gravimetri, spektrofotometri logam, pengkhelat untuk mineral bumi yang langka dan untuk pengekstrak ion-ion logam dari fase air. Oleh sebab itu, sangat perlu dilakukan sintesis FHA dengan bahan dasar yang mengandung asam lemak ini. Salah satu sumber asam lemak adalah minyak mentah dedak padi. Minyak mentah dedak padi mengandung asam lemak dengan rantai sedang dan panjang sehingga memiliki potensi yang sangat besar sebagai bahan baku sintesis asam lemak hidroksamat. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mensintesis FHA dari minyak mentah dedak padi secara enzimatis dan karakterisasi produk FHA yang dihasilkan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode enzimatis yang meliputi beberapa tahap pengerjaan yaitu tahap sintesis, tahap pemurnian dan tahap karakterisasi. Dari hasil penelitian, diperoleh persentase hasil sintesis asam lemak hidroksamat dari minyak mentah dedak padi setelah dilakukan perbanyakan dengan menggunakan kondisi sintesisnya adalah sekitar 52,37%. Jumlah gugus asam hidroksamat dalam 1 gram sampel kering asam lemak hidroksamat adalah 3,01 mmol. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji warna dengan CuSO4 dan FeCl3 didapatkan warna kompleks yang khas untuk kedua logam tersebut dengan FHA yaitu warna hijau dan merah tua. Sedangkan dari analisis FTIR, didapatkan spektrum gugus fungsi asam hidroksamat dari sampel FHA.

Abstract

Fatty Hydroxamic Acids (FHA) has been successfully synthesized from used cooking oil. The purpose of this research was the enzymatic synthesis of fatty hydroxamic acids from used cooking oil and determine the optimum conditions, which includes three stages of processing, namely the oil preparation stage, the synthesis optimization stage and the characterization stage. At the oil preparation stage, the yield of used cooking oil was 29%. At the optimization stage, the optimum conditions for the synthesis of fatty hydroxamic acids from used cooking oil were at a temperature of 35oC for 25 hours with a ratio of lipase (gram) : hydroxylamine (mmol) equal to 1:500 and the ratio of lipase (gram) : crude bran rice (gram) was equal to 1:75. The number of hydroxamic acid groups in 1 gram of dry sample of fatty hydroxamic acid was 3,16 mmol. Based on the results of the analysis of the color test with Cu (II) and Fe (III), a complex color that is typical for the two metals which obtained with fatty hydroxamic acids, they were green and dark red. Whereas, from the FTIR analysis, the spectrum of the functional groups of hydroxamic acid was obtained.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service initiative was to socialize the importance of implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in teaching materials at schools in the Batukliang District. The activities began with a needs assessment through surveys and interviews with teachers in the region, which revealed that their understanding of OBE was still limited. Subsequently, intensive training was conducted to provide a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts of OBE and how to implement them in the development of syllabi, Lesson Plans (RPP), and competency-based assessments. After the training, teachers applied the knowledge they had gained in their classroom teaching and provided feedback on the challenges they faced, particularly in developing competency-based evaluations. The training results indicated an improvement in the teachers' understanding of the OBE concepts and their application, although some challenges remained, such as time constraints, limited resources, and difficulties in creating holistic assessments. The support of school principals also proved crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of OBE. The post-training evaluations showed that the teachers found the activities valuable and felt that their skills in designing OBE-based learning had improved. Overall, this community service initiative successfully enhanced the quality of teachers' understanding and skills in implementing OBE in the Batukliang District. It is hoped that this initiative can serve as a model for other regions, with the goal of improving the quality of education that is relevant to the demands of the workforce.

Abstract

Fatty hydroxamic acids are chemical derivatives formed through the modification of the carboxyl group of fatty acids into a hydroxamate group, imparting unique and functional properties. The key chemical properties of these compounds include the ability to form strong complexes with metal ions, act as antioxidants, and possess high thermal and chemical stability. These combined properties make hydroxamate fatty acids relevant for various applications in the field of biotechnology. In waste treatment, these compounds serve as chelating agents to selectively bind heavy metals. In the pharmaceutical and food industries, hydroxamate fatty acids show potential as antimicrobial agents and natural preservatives. Furthermore, these compounds are used in enzymatic engineering to enhance the efficiency of biocatalytic reactions. Recent research also explores their use in microbial metabolic engineering to produce bioactive compounds with high added value. This article provides an in-depth review of the chemical properties, mechanisms of action, and diverse innovative applications of hydroxamate fatty acids, as well as discusses the technical challenges and opportunities for further development in the modern biotechnology era.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the application of hydroxamic fatty acids in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, with a focus on their biological activities, product formulations, and compound stability in practical applications. Biological activity assays demonstrated that hydroxamic fatty acids exhibit significant antimicrobial effects against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, as well as effective anti-inflammatory activity by reducing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in RAW 264.7 cells. Furthermore, anticancer tests on human breast cancer cells (MCF-7) showed that these compounds can inhibit cancer cell proliferation. In terms of product formulation, hydroxamic fatty acids were found to be stable in cosmetic products (facial serums and hair masks) and pharmaceutical products (topical ointments), with results indicating improvements in skin elasticity and hair quality, along with a reduction in inflammation symptoms in patients. However, a major challenge in the application of hydroxamic fatty acids lies in their complex synthesis process, which requires hazardous chemicals, thereby increasing production costs and impacting environmental sustainability. Therefore, further research is needed to develop more efficient and environmentally friendly synthesis methods. Overall, the findings of this study suggest that hydroxamic fatty acids hold significant potential for development as effective and safe active ingredients in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

Abstract

Based on Undang-undang no 1 Tahun 2011, The implementation of residential areas is carried out with the aim of realizing an area that functions as a residential environment and a place for activities that support a planned, comprehensive, integrated, and sustainable life and livelihood in accordance with the spatial plan. The purpose of this assistance in the preparation of Detail Engineering Design (DED) is to realize a plan that is in accordance with the required technical standards. This service activity begins with an understanding of the Slum issued by the Mayor of Kota Bima, then proceeds with conducting a site survey to see existing problems, and finally by carrying out Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and technical meetings offline and online. This Community activity produces a Detailed Engineering Design (DED) and a profile of the Sapaga residential area arrangement in Kota Bima which is the basis for planning regional planning in the area. In the preparation of Detail Engineering Design activities, the expected output includes 7 (seven) parameters for structuring slum areas, only during implementation activities, of course, there are still some adjustments related to field conditions.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to provide students with knowledge about the importance of education to motivate students to continue to the university level. The implementation of this activity was carried out at MA Mu'allimat NW Pancor class XII IPA / IPS with as many as 50 people. The method used in this service activity is socialization with lectures accompanied by material exposure regarding the importance of education, introduction to universities, prospects for college graduates, and educational assistance, and ends with a question and answer session. The results of this service are based on the enthusiasm of the participants, and warm interaction in discussions, and can change the mindset of students towards higher education and the emergence of student motivation in continuing their education to the college level.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan warga dalam mengelola limbah kulit durian melalui pelatihan pembuatan adsorben arang aktif sebagai solusi inovatif pengurangan sampah organik. Pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan utama, yaitu edukasi teori, demonstrasi proses pembuatan arang aktif, dan praktik langsung oleh peserta. Materi pelatihan mencakup konsep dasar adsorpsi, proses karbonisasi limbah kulit durian, aktivasi fisik dan kimia, serta pengujian kemampuan adsorben. Seluruh peserta mengikuti rangkaian kegiatan dengan antusias, dan hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman mengenai nilai tambah limbah organik serta kemampuan teknis dalam proses pembuatan arang aktif. Produk arang aktif yang dihasilkan peserta menunjukkan karakteristik fisik dan kemampuan adsorpsi yang cukup baik, ditandai dengan perubahan warna larutan uji dan struktur pori yang terlihat secara visual. Kegiatan ini juga berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang potensi limbah organik yang dapat diolah menjadi produk bernilai ekonomi. Dengan model pelatihan berbasis praktik langsung, kegiatan ini tidak hanya memberikan peningkatan wawasan teknis, tetapi juga mendorong lahirnya gagasan usaha kecil berbasis pemanfaatan limbah. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini efektif sebagai langkah pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui teknologi ramah lingkungan, serta berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai program berkelanjutan dalam mendukung pengelolaan sampah organik berbasis ekonomi sirkular.

Abstract

Utilization of biomass waste into activated carbon represents a sustainable strategy for environmental management while also providing eco-friendly functional materials. This study employs durian peel (Durio zibethinus) as the raw material for activated carbon production through carbonization at 400 °C for 2 hours, followed by chemical activation using HCl solution at varying concentrations. The resulting activated carbon was characterized based on its physical properties (moisture content, ash content, iodine adsorption capacity) as well as surface morphology using SEM. Adsorption tests for Cu²⁺ ions were conducted using the batch method under different initial concentrations and contact times. The results showed that HCl activation reduced moisture content to 4.2%, lowered ash content to 3.9%, and enhanced iodine adsorption capacity to 892 mg/g. SEM analysis revealed increased porosity with pore sizes ranging from 0.5–2.5 µm. Adsorption tests indicated an optimum uptake capacity of 40.2 mg/g with efficiency exceeding 80% at a solution concentration of 50 ppm and a contact time of 60 minutes. Adsorption data were better fitted to the Langmuir isotherm model (R² = 0.987) and pseudo-second-order kinetics (R² = 0.991), indicating a monolayer chemisorption-based mechanism. These findings highlight the great potential of durian peel as a low-cost, effective, and environmentally friendly source of activated carbon for the remediation of heavy metal-contaminated wastewater, particularly copper ions.
