The purpose of this study was to see the effect of active learning on the MIKiR concept on the learning outcomes of class XI MIPA students at SMAN 2 Luwu Timur. This research is a quasi-experimental type (Quasi Experimental Research) with Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students in class XI which consisted of 6 classes with a total of 214 students. Determination of the sample was carried out using the purposive sampling technique, the experimental class was XI MIPA 3 as many as 20 students and the control class was XI MIPA 4 as many as 20 students. Using prerequisite test and independent sample t-test. The results showed that the tcount was 8.766 and the ttable was 1.686, at a significant level of 5% (α = 0.05). The test results obtained show that tcount > ttable (8.766 > 1.686), thus Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is an effect of active learning on the MIKiR concept on student learning outcomes in the respiratory system material for class XI MIPA SMAN 2 Luwu Timur

Abstract

General Background: Indonesia’s rich cultural and religious diversity presents both a valuable asset and a potential source of social tension. Specific Background: Increasing cases of intolerance among students underscore the urgency of embedding religious moderation values through education. Knowledge Gap: Prior studies have largely focused on high school and university levels, with limited exploration at the junior high school level, especially in local contexts such as Bulukumba. Aims: This study aims to investigate how religious moderation values are instilled through Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Education at SMP Negeri 2 Bulukumba. Results: Using a qualitative case study approach, findings show that values like tolerance, justice, openness, respect for differences, harmony, and rejection of extremism are integrated effectively into classroom teaching and school culture, though challenged by students’ diverse backgrounds and social media influences. Novelty: The study highlights how local cultural values, such as siri’ and pangadereng, can be contextualized to support moderate Islamic education. Implications: These findings suggest the need for inclusive, context-sensitive pedagogical strategies to strengthen national resilience through character education grounded in religious moderation.Highlight : The cultivation of religious moderation values through PAI and Budi Pekerti increases students' tolerance and openness to religious and cultural differences. The main obstacles come from the influence of social media, differences in cultural backgrounds, and lack of parental support. Effective religious moderation education integrates the curriculum, teacher role models, and inclusive school activities. Abstract

This article discusses the intervention of the Dutch colonial government in Islamic judiciary institutions in Indonesia and its impact on the authority of religious courts. Prior to the colonial period, Islamic courts had developed within Islamic kingdoms and possessed broad authority in resolving religious and social disputes. However, the arrival of the Dutch colonial administration brought significant changes to the legal system in Indonesia through colonial legal policies aimed at controlling indigenous society, including Muslims. This study employs a normative legal research method with a historical approach by examining literature, colonial regulations, and various scholarly sources related to the development of Islamic courts during the Dutch East Indies period. The findings indicate that the colonial government did not directly abolish Islamic courts, but gradually restricted their authority through various policies and regulations. Islamic courts, which previously held extensive authority, were later limited to certain matters such as marriage, divorce, reconciliation, and inheritance. This intervention was influenced by colonial legal politics and the receptie theory, which placed customary law above Islamic law. Nevertheless, Islamic judiciary institutions survived and became one of the important foundations for the development of the religious court system in post-independence Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of the Islamic judicial system during the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs. This research is grounded in the urgency of understanding the development of the Islamic legal system following the passing of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), where the complexity of social challenges spurred the emergence of fresh dynamics in judicial institutions. The primary focus is on the transformation of the judicial system, which shifted from the singular authority of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to a more structured framework during the era of the Khulafa al-Rashidin (Rightly Guided Caliphs). This study is positioned as a comparative-historical analysis, using that classical period as a foundation for advancing contemporary Islamic judicial management. The applied approach employs descriptive qualitative methods through library research, supplemented by content analysis of primary and secondary sources. The findings reveal that the judicial patterns during Abu Bakr's time retained the simplicity of the prophetic era, but underwent a striking transformation under Umar bin Khattab, marked by the separation of judicial functions from the executive and the appointment of independent judges (qadhi). This development continued under Uthman and Ali through the reinforcement of procedural justice principles and the integrity of judges. Overall, the era of the Khulafa al-Rashidin laid the foundation for the supremacy of law, consultative mechanisms (shura), and the independence of judicial institutions, which remain relevant to this day. These findings contribute to contemporary debates on Islamic legal governance by demonstrating that judicial independence has deep historical roots in early Islamic political structures.
