Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effect of interactive multimedia in energy flow topics to improve students scientific literacy. The study was quantitative research with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 29 students of class VII-F SMPN 1 Bojonegoro. The instrument of this study were used observation sheets of learning implementation, student activities, student response questionnaires, and scientific literacy tests (pretest and posttest). The data were collected by observation, test, and questionnaire methods. The results of this study showed that there was an improvement of the students scientific literacy by using interactive multimedia in energy flow topics. The students scientific literacy was improved from pretest to posttest with an average of N-Gain score in medium categories. The improvement of students scientific literacy was supported by well-implemented interactive multimedia’s learning, so that it obtained a positive response from students and they did the scientific literacy activities well. So, it can be suggested that interactive multimedia can be applied to other topics.

Abstract

Pembelajaran harus mempunyai prasarana, terhitung ruang laboratorium guna mendukung proses pendidikan yang tertib serta berkepanjangan. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis pemanfaatan laboratorium dalam pembelajaran IPA di MTs Negeri 4 Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 32 responden siswa kelas 7. Instrumen yang digunakan yakni lembar observasi, wawancara, angket dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengumpulan datanya terdiri dari metode observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan skala guttman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ruang laboratorium IPA MTs Negeri 4 Surabaya dapat dinyatakan sudah sesuai standar Permendiknas No. 24 Tahun 2007 dengan rata- rata mencapai 75.25% kategori cukup layak, kedua terkait alat laboratorium fisika sudah sesuai standar Permendikbud No. 8 Tahun 2018 dengan rata- rata 41.1% kategori cukup layak, dan ketiga terkait alat laboratorium biologi sudah sesuai standar Permendikbud No. 8 Tahun 2018 dengan rata- rata 79.7% kategori layak. Harapan dari penelitian ini sekolah dapat memperbaiki alat laboratorium IPA terutama di bidang fisika yang kurang sesuai dengan standardisasi Permendikbud 2018. Sehingga proses pembelajaran akan lebih maksimal dengan beberapa alat yang bisa diperbaharui.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa SMP dengan pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada materi cahaya dan optik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian one group pretest posttest design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII A dan VIII B SMP Negeri 14 Gresik yang masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, tes, dan angket dengan menggunakan instrumen lembar observasi, lembar tes (pretest dan posttest) dan lembar angket respon siswa. Teknik analisis dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis skor dan kriteria penilaian keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, analisis uji dengan uji normalitas, uji t tidak berpasangan, dan uji N-gain ternormalisasi, analisis skor dan kriteria penilaian respon siswa. Setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah, kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa menunjukkan peningkatan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) ke dalam Kurikulum Merdeka melalui pelatihan yang terfokus. Menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR), program ini melibatkan 26 guru IPA dari Pasuruan, Indonesia, dalam workshop berstruktur berbasis AI menggunakan PowerPoint sebagai alat pembelajaran. Fase pelatihan meliputi persiapan, pelatihan langsung dengan kegiatan praktis, dan evaluasi pasca-pelatihan untuk memastikan transfer dan penerapan keterampilan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan, dengan skor pengetahuan fitur AI meningkat dari 46,8% menjadi 61,5% untuk fungsi utama dan dari 59,6% menjadi 73,1% untuk transisi animasi. Umpan balik menyoroti perlunya penambahan durasi pelatihan dan sesi tatap muka yang berkelanjutan untuk mengoptimalkan pemahaman. Studi ini merekomendasikan pelatihan berkala yang berkelanjutan, terutama dengan memasukkan sesi praktis dan dukungan mentor, guna memperkuat kompetensi AI dan menjembatani kesenjangan akses teknologi di wilayah pendidikan pedesaan. Optimizing the Independent Curriculum through Teacher Training Assistance to Implement AI Technology in the Development of Learning Media This study aims to enhance teacher competence in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology into the Independent Curriculum through focused training. Utilizing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program engaged 26 science teachers from Pasuruan, Indonesia, in a structured AI-based workshop using PowerPoint as a teaching tool. The training phases included preparation, direct training with hands-on activities, and post-training evaluation to ensure skill transfer and application. The results of the program showed significant improvements, with knowledge scores on AI features rising from 46.8% to 61.5% for core functions and from 59.6% to 73.1% for animation transitions. Feedback highlighted the need for extended training duration and ongoing face-to-face sessions to optimize understanding. This study recommends sustained, periodic training, especially incorporating practical and mentor-supported sessions, to strengthen AI competencies and bridge technology access gaps in rural educational settings

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis profil kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik saat mempelajari materi perubahan wujud benda pada pembelajaran IPA Sekolah Dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pendahuluan yang bersifat deskriptif dan tidak melakukan uji hipotesis dengan sampel sebanyak 20 peserta didik SDN Selosari di Magetan, Jawa Timur. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, angket respon peserta didik, dan wawancara guru yang hasil datanya akan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa 1) kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik berada pada kategori rendah dan sedang. Sebanyak 14 peserta didik berada pada kategori rendah, 6 peserta didik berada pada kategori sedang dan tidak ada peserta didik yang berada pada kategori tinggi; 2) Indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis yang paling rendah adalah evaluasi; 3) Guru masih menggunakan metode ceramah dan bahan ajar konvensional saat pembelajaran; 4) Diharapkan dengan adanya multimedia pembelajaran interaktif dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada pelajaran IPA khususnya materi perubahan wujud benda. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik masih rendah, sehingga perlu adanya peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik dengan mengimplementasikan multimedia pembelajaran interaktif, yaitu Jeopardy game.

Abstract

This research aimed to develop and validate an inquiry collaborative tutorial-based blended learning model and its supporting materials to enhance physics problem-solving skills in college students. The study employed a 4-D development model consisting of define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. Validation of the model and learning materials was conducted by experts through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) using expert panel techniques. The results indicated that the developed model and learning materials met the criteria for content and construct validity and demonstrated high reliability. The resulting learning model is expected to provide an alternative for lecturers in overcoming the challenges of online learning and improving students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of a locally contextualized STEM-based learning device, “Dawet Jabung,” in improving students’ scientific literacy at MA Darul Huda. Methodology: A quasi-experimental posttest non-equivalent control group design was used. The experimental class (n = 16) learned using a STEM-based “Dawet Jabung” learning device, while the control class (n = 16) used traditional materials. Quantitative data were collected through a scientific literacy questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent-samples t-test, and N-Gain scores with SPSS 21. Qualitative data from interviews supported the quantitative findings. Main Findings: The experimental class showed higher scientific literacy, with 75% categorized as “good” and 25% as “very good” (M = 68), compared with the control class, which was dominated by the “poor” category (50%) with an average score of 58. The t-test revealed a significant difference (t = 9.297 > t-table = 2.036). The N-gain score of 0.65 indicated moderate effectiveness. Interview results indicated increased engagement, curiosity, and conceptual understanding among students who used the STEM tool. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a unique Ethno-STEM learning device integrating local wisdom “Dawet Jabung,” bridging scientific concepts with cultural practices. The innovation advances existing STEM literature by demonstrating that integrating cultural context enhances scientific literacy more effectively than conventional STEM alone. This work contributes a new pedagogical model aligned with the Merdeka Belajar curriculum’s emphasis on contextual and culturally responsive learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar dalam memahami materi sumber energi. Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan penting yang harus dimiliki oleh peserta didik dalam menghadapi tantangan abad 21, karena keterampilan ini melatih peserta didik untuk menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan membuat keputusan yang tepat dalam memecahkan masalah. Dalam mendiskripsikan profil keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan pemberian 10 soal evaluasi berbasis pemecahan masalah. Analisis difokuskan pada lima aspek berpikir kritis, yaitu merumuskan masalah, menyampaikan argumen, melakukan deduksi, induksi, dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa berada pada kategori cukup. Sebagian siswa menunjukkan pemahaman yang baik dalam mengidentifikasi masalah dan menyusun argumen, namun masih terdapat kendala dalam menghubungkan konsep dan menarik kesimpulan. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya strategi pembelajaran yang mendorong pertanyaan tingkat tinggi serta penguatan budaya diskusi dan refleksi untuk mendukung pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Flipbook as a learning medium on elementary school students' Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) learning outcomes through a literature review. Flipbook is an interactive digital learning medium that enhances students' engagement and understanding of the subject matter. This research employs a literature review method by analyzing previous studies discussing Flipbook effectiveness in learning. The findings indicate that Flipbook positively impacts students' learning outcomes, as evidenced by increased pretest and posttest scores. Additionally, Flipbook supports various learning models such as Jigsaw and Problem-Based Learning (PBL), improving learning effectiveness. The analysis also reveals that Flipbook significantly enhances students' learning interest, conceptual understanding, and academic achievement. Therefore, the use of Flipbook as a learning medium in elementary schools is highly recommended to foster more interactive and effective learning.

Abstract

Student’s critical thinking skills in higher education level should be enhanced using diverse methods, one of which by developing learning media as assistance in conceiving the skills. This study was undertaken to determine the validity of the H5P learning media using ALLR (Activity Based-Lesson Learn-Reflection) model that could be embedded in a Moodle-based learning management system for Basic Science course to reinforce the pre-service science teachers’ critical thinking skills. This study used research and development (R&D) design using 4D development model. The developed learning media was an interactive learning media for Basic Science course that contained the ALLR learning model developed using the H5P platform embedded in Moodle-based SIDIA UNESA learning management system. The media was given to three experts whose expertise were science learning and learning media development. The validation was based on assessment criteria which included content, presentation, and language aspects. The results showd that all the assessment criteria for the learning media developed were declared very valid, except for interactivity sub-criteria which was valid. It can be concluded that H5P-based interactive media in LM with ALLR Learning Model is suitable for improving the critical thinking skills of pre-service science teachers in the Basic Science Course.
