Abstract

Adolescents in orphanages are prone to psychological difficulties, making resilience an essential capacity. Gratitude is considered an internal factor that supports resilience. This study aimed to examine the correlation between gratitude and resilience among orphanage adolescents in Surakarta City. Using a quantitative approach and total sampling technique, 81 participants were involved. Two adaptation scales were applied: the Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC 25; 24 items, α=0.940) and the Gratitude Resentment Appreciation Test-Short Form (GRAT-SF; 10 items, α=0.851). Data analysis employed simple linear regression, which revealed a significant positive correlation between gratitude and resilience, with F calc > F table (16.299 > 3.962), correlation coefficient (R) = 0.414, and p < 0.001. Gratitude contributed 17.1% to resilience formation. These findings confirm the hypothesis that gratitude positively influences resilience, suggesting that cultivating gratitude can strengthen psychological adaptability in orphanage adolescents facing life challenges.

Abstract

Ketidakhadiran seorang ayah pada sebuah keluarga menjadi fenomena yang masih terjadi. Ayah bagi anak perempuan merupakan role model untuknya mengetahui dunia laki-laki dan mengetahui bagaimana berinteraksi dengan lawan jenis. Sebagaimana hal tersebut terjadi pada perempuan dewasa awal, memilih pasangan merupakan salah satu tugas perkembangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara persepsi keterlibatan ayah dalam pengasuhan dengan pemilihan pasangan pada perempuan dewasa awal fatherless. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 119 perempuan dewasa awal fatherless menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala pemilihan pasangan (r = 0,846) dan skala persepsi keterlibatan ayah dalam pengasuhan (r = 0,965). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menggunakan metode korelasi Pearson product-moment, nilai koefisien korelasi (r) yang didapatkan adalah -0,056 dengan taraf signifikansi (p) > 0,05 yaitu 0,543. Sehingga hipotesis penelitian ditolak, dan menunjukkan tidak terdapat hubungan antara persepsi keterlibatan ayah dalam pengasuhan dengan pemilihan pasangan pada perempuan dewasa awal fatherless.

Abstract

Approximately 15.5 million adolescents experience mental health problems, yet only 2.6% seek professional help. Without appropriate intervention, these difficulties may progress into more severe disorders, making help-seeking behavior critical for ensuring timely support. Youth Integrated Health Posts (Posyandu Remaja) serve as community-based platforms that promote adolescent health, including programs aimed at improving mental health literacy. However, low help-seeking behavior among youth attending these centers remains a persistent concern. This study aimed to examine the association between mental health literacy and help-seeking behavior among adolescents enrolled in Posyandu Remaja in Surakarta. Using purposive sampling, 114 adolescents participated in the study. Data were collected using adapted questionnaire-based scales assessing help-seeking behavior (α = 0.801) and mental health literacy (α = 0.528). Analysis was conducted using chi-square correlation tests in SPSS 25. The results indicated no statistically significant association between mental health literacy and help-seeking behavior among the participants, χ² = 0.631 (N = 114, p = 0.427). These findings suggest that improving mental health literacy alone may be insufficient to increase help-seeking tendencies among adolescents. Health service providers are encouraged to develop more comprehensive strategies beyond literacy-enhancing interventions. Future research may consider larger sample sizes, refined measurement tools, and the exploration of additional factors that may influence help-seeking behavior among youth in similar community settings.

Abstract

Phubbing behavior has been linked to both deficits in self-regulation and heightened interpersonal communication anxiety. This study aimed to examine the mediating role of interpersonal communication anxiety in the relationship between self-control and phubbing behavior among university students. A total of 217 participants were selected using purposive sampling. Three validated instruments were employed: the Generic Scale of Phubbing (GSP; α = 0.825), the Self-Control Scale (α = 0.856), and the Interpersonal Communication Anxiety Scale (α = 0.813). Data were analyzed using mediation analysis via JASP and PROCESS in SPSS. The findings revealed a significant relationship between self-control and phubbing behavior, with interpersonal communication anxiety acting as a partial mediator (p < 0.05). Specifically, the indirect effect (–0.007) was smaller than the direct effect (–0.056), indicating partial mediation. Increases in self-control were associated with a reduction in interpersonal communication anxiety (β = –0.04), which in turn was linked to decreased phubbing behavior (β = –0.16). Collectively, self-control and interpersonal communication anxiety accounted for 17.3% of the variance in phubbing behavior. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing self-regulation strategies among students to mitigate communication-related anxiety and reduce phubbing tendencies, thereby fostering more engaged and meaningful interpersonal interactions.

Abstract

Background: Research on the search for professional psychological help has gained increasing attention in recent years. However, comprehensive analyses of trends and thematic developments within this field remain limited. Objective: This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the scientific literature on seeking professional psychological help and to map the research landscape.  Methods: Researchers performed a bibliometric data analysis using VOSviewer, based on data retrieved from the Scopus database between 2015 and 2024. This analysis involved creating visual maps based on the co-occurrence of keywords and thematic clustering. Results: A total of 1,522 documents were identified, with a significant increase in publications in 2024. PLOS ONE emerged as the journal with the highest number of publications. The United States contributed the largest number of publications. Conclusion: Network analysis revealed seven major research clusters, highlighting interconnected themes across studies. Emerging areas for future research include mental health professionals, psychological help-seeking behavior, help-seeking intentions, and service utilization. Additionally, key influencing variables such as mental health literacy, peer support, and self-stigma were identified as potential focal points for further investigation. These findings provide a comprehensive overview of the field and offer valuable insights for advancing research and practice in professional psychological help-seeking.

Abstract

Terapi realitas menekankan pada tanggung jawab kehidupan tiap individu yang mampu diterapkan pada mahasiswa yang masuk dan terperangkap dalam masa evaluasi diri secara negatif. Beberapa penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa terapi realitas memiliki kemampuan untuk meningkatkan aspek positif dan mengurangi aspek negatif, seperti meningkatkan kemampuan adaptasi, memperbaiki kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengatasi skripsi, mengurangi kecenderungan prokrastinasi, meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dan kesehatan mental. Oleh karena itu partisipan diharapkan mampu menerapkan teknik terapi realitas dalam upaya meningkatkan self compassion dan student engagement serta menurunkan fear of failure. Berfokus pada mahasiswa dengan self-compassion rendah hingga sedang, fear of failure sedang dan tinggi, dan student engagement sedang hingga rendah, pengabdian ini melibatkan 20 partisipan yang mengikuti empat sesi terapi kelompok. Dengan menggunakan skala Self-Compassion Scale, The Performance Appraisal Failure, dan Student Engagement Scale, penelitian ini menggambarkan peningkatan signifikan pada tingkat self-compassion dan student engagement, sementara tingkat fear of failure menurun setelah intervensi. Terapi kelompok realitas, fokus pada penerimaan realitas dan tanggung jawab, membuktikan efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa. Pelatihan ini memberikan kontribusi dalam memberi intervensi yang lebih efektif terhadap variabel psikologis mahasiswa di tingkat perguruan tinggi, memperkaya pemahaman tentang self-compassion, fear of failure, dan student engagement. Reality therapy emphasizes the life responsibility of each individual and can be applied to incoming students who find themselves trapped in a period of negative self-evaluation. Some previous studies have shown that reality therapy has the ability to enhance positive aspects and reduce negative aspects, such as improving adaptation skills, enhancing students' ability to handle thesis work, reducing procrastination tendencies, boosting self-confidence, and improving mental health. Therefore, participants are expected to be able to apply reality therapy techniques in an effort to increase self-compassion and student engagement while reducing the fear of failure. Focusing on students with low to moderate scores of self-compassion, moderate to high  scores of fear of failure, and moderate to low  scores of student engagement, this study involved 20 participants in four group therapy sessions. Using the Self-Compassion Scale, The Performance Appraisal Failure, and Student Engagement Scale, the research depicts a significant increase in levels of self-compassion and student engagement, while the level of fear of failure decreases after the intervention. Reality group therapy, with a focus on acceptance of reality and responsibility, proves its effectiveness in enhancing the psychological well-being of students. This training contributes to providing more effective interventions for psychological variables in college students, enriching the understanding of self-compassion, fear of failure, and student engagement.

Abstract

Kerentanan remaja mengalami masalah kesehatan mental menjadi permasalahan global yang penting untuk diperhatikan. Guna memfasilitasi perkembangan remaja secara optimal, dibentuklah program kegiatan posyandu remaja. Ketersediaan posyandu remaja masih terbatas dan belum intens dalam mempromosikan pentingnya kesehatan mental remaja. Di sinilah kader posyandu remaja berperan penting dalam memberikan pelayanan sehingga penting untuk memiliki literasi kesehatan mental yang memadai. Upaya peningkatan kapasitas mental dilakukan melalui metode edukasi kesehatan mental. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi edukasi kesehatan mental kader posyandu remaja, meningkatkan partisipasi dan antusias para kader dalam upaya peningkatan kesehatan mental remaja, dan mengetahui tingkat literasi kesehatan mental mereka sebelum dan sesudah edukasi. Peningkatan literasi kesehatan mental kader posyandu remaja ditinjau melalui metode quasi-eksperimen dengan analisis uji Wilcoxon. Berdasarkan populasi dengan kriteria inklusi-eksklusi yang ditentukan, kegiatan dihadiri oleh 17 kader posyandu remaja kampung X Surakarta, sehingga teknik sampling jenuh digunakan. Hasil analisis penelitian menggunakan instrumen Tes Pengetahuan Literasi Kesehatan Mental dengan nilai reliabilitas 0,611 hanya menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata sebesar 0,36 dengan p=0,444 (<0,05). Meskipun demikian, pelaksanaan program edukasi telah memfasilitasi dan meningkatkan partisipasi serta antusias kader posyandu remaja dalam upaya peningkatan kesehatan mental remaja. Kata kunci: edukasi; kesehatan mental; literasi; remaja

Abstract

Salah satu tujuan mahasiswa setelah lulus kuliah adalah bekerja. Persaingan dalam mencari kerja dapat menimbulkan kecemasan bagi mahasiswa. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya untuk menurunkan rasa cemas yang dialami mahasiswa dengan regulasi diri dan grit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan regulasi diri dan grit dengan kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 80 mahasiswa tingkat akhir Psikologi UNS yang terdiri angkatan 2015-2017 dengan teknik pengambilan sampel proportioned stratified random sampling. Instrument dalam penelitian ini adalah skala kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja (α=0,922), skala regulasi diri (α=0,879), dan skala grit (α=0,899). Hasil analisis regresi linier berganda menunjukkan nilai p=0,000 (p < 0,05) dengan nilai Fhitung=16,705 > Ftabel=3,12 dan nilai R=0,550 yang berarti secara bersama-sama (simultan) berhubungan dengan kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir dengan tingkat sedang. Hasil analisis korelasi parsial menunjukkan terdapat hubungan negatif signifikan antara regulasi diri dengan kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja (p=0,005 < 0,05; r=0,312) dan tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara grit dengan kecemasan menghadapi dunia kerja (p=0,318 > 0,05; r=-0,114).

Abstract

Kesepian merupakan masalah psikologis yang tidak bisa dihindari mahasiswa yang kerap menghadapi situasi stres selama perkuliahan dan mengalami kesulitan yang lebih tinggi dari tingkat pendidikan sebelumnya pada emerging adults. Sejumlah faktor bisa memprediksi kesepian, termasuk psychological well-being dan rasa syukur. Teknik proportional stratified random sampling diimplementasikan untuk mengambil sampel pada 200 responden berusia 18-25 tahun yang merupakan mahasiswa aktif Psikologi UNS. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala kesepian (α = 0,900), skala psychological well-being (α = 0,762), dan skala rasa syukur (α = 0,838). Hasil analisis menunjukkan nilai Fhitung antara psychological well-being dengan rasa syukur dan kesepian sebesar 62,508 dengan nilai R sebesar 0,623 (p < 0,05). Hasil uji parsial memperlihatkan bahwa secara negatif dan signifikan psychological well-being dan kesepian menunjukkan adanya hubungan dengan koefisien regresi sebesar -0,517 (p<0,05). Hubungan negatif dan signifikan diperlihatkan juga oleh rasa syukur dengan kesepian dengan koefisien regresi sebesar -0,146 (p<0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang kuat antara psychological well-being dan rasa syukur dengan kesepian, adanya hubungan negatif yang cukup kuat dan signifikan antara psychological well-being dengan kesepian, dan terdapat hubungan negatif yang sangat lemah dan signifikan antara rasa syukur dan kesepian. Studi ini mengungkap bahwa psychological well-being dan rasa syukur penting dalam mengurangi kesepian pada mahasiswa terutama pada psychological well-being yang dampaknya lebih kuat.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the need to belong and online self-presentation among teenage Instagram users at SMP Al Azhar Syifa Budi Solo. The need to belong refers to an individual's desire to be accepted in a group of friends and to interact with other friends. Online self-presentation is an individual's effort to project an image to others to fit the situation and be accepted by others by implementing strategies to achieve the desired and expected self-image online. This research used quantitative methods. The sampling technique used stratified cluster random sampling. The number of samples obtained was as many as 166 students of 13-16 years old . The instruments used in this scale were the online self-presentation scale (ri= 0.914) and the need to belong scale (ri= 0.881). The results of the analysis indicated that the need to belong had a significant positive relationship with online self-presentation among teenage Instagram users at SMP Al Azhar Syifa Budi Solo (p < 0.05; 0.02 < 0.05).
