Abstract

ABSTRACTIn the 2013 curriculum, students are active, especially in finding concepts in the learning process. In addition, in the learning process, students are expected to be competent in using and utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a medium in learning to improve the quality of learning.This study aims to develop PowerPoint-iSpring learning media on voltaic cell material for class XII SMA/MA. This research used ti determine the level of validity of the learning media that has been made. This develop media is integrated with question prompting that can help student find concepts. The type of research used is the development research using the Plomp model which concists of three stages: preliminary stage, prototyping stage, and assessment phase (this research was carried out until prototyping III stage). This learning media was validated by chemistry lectures, engineering lectures of FMIPA UNP and chemistry teachers at SMAN 4 Padang using instruments in the form of validation sheets. The results of the assessment on content validation, constructs, and media experts were processed using the Aiken's V formula with an average V value of 0.93; 0.94; 0.92 so it can be concluded that the learning media that has been developed is valid.Keywords: PowerPoint-iSpring, Prompting Question, Voltaic Cell, PlompABSTRAKPada kurikulum 2013 peserta didik dituntut aktif terutama dalam menemukan konsep dalam proses pembelajaran. selain itu, pada proses pembelajaran peserta didik diharapkan kompeten dalam menggunakan dan memanfaatkan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi (TIK) sebagai media dalam pembelajaran untuk dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran PowerPoint-iSpring pada materi sel volta kelas XII SMA/MA. Penelitian ini digunakan untuk menentukan tingkat validitas media pembelajaran yang telah dibuat. Media yang dikembangakan ini terintegrasi dengan pertanyaan prompting yang dapat membantu siswa dalam menemukan konsep. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian pengembangan (Development Research) dengan menggunakan model Plomp yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu tahap penelitan pendahuluan (preliminary research), tahap prototipe (prototyping stage), dan tahap penilaian (assesement phase) (penelitian ini dilakukan sampai tahap prototipe III). Media pembelajaran ini divalidasi oleh dosen kimia FMIPA UNP, dosen FT UNP dan guru kimia SMAN 4 Padang dengan menggunakan instrumen berupa lembar validasi. Hasil penilaian terhadap validasi konten, konstuk, dan ahli media diolah menggunakan formula Aikens V dengan rata-rata nilai V secara berturut sebesar 0.93; 0.94; 0.92 sehingga dapat disimpulkan media pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan valid.Kata Kunci: PowerPoint-iSpring, Pertanyaan Prompting, Sel Volta, Plomp

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe Covid-19 pandemic has changed the face-to-face learning process to online learning. One of the subjects conducted online is chemistry. However, learning can take place well by utilizing various types of information technology (IT)-based platforms such as e-learning. Therefore, this literature review aims to discuss the implementation of chemistry learning during the pandemic, which includes the e-learning platform used, the response to chemistry learning and the challenges and obstacles faced during chemistry online learning. The research method used is literature study or library research. Meanwhile, the data sources used are secondary data obtained from various sources such as journals, activity reports, books and other sources relevant to the research. The research instrument is a check-list for the classification of research materials, writing maps and research note formats. The results showed that the most widely used learning platforms were WhatsApp, Google Classroom and Zoom Cloud Meetings. During learning, the responses of students were quite diverse, ranging from quite low to high enthusiasm. The obstacles of learning implementation in general are the internet network, lack of IT mastery, learning media that are less interactive. So that it is expected to be able to train IT mastery, especially how to use e-learning platforms and create interactive learning media.Keywords: Chemistry, Covid-19, E-Learning, Literature Review ABSTRAKPandemi Covid-19 telah mengubah proses pembelajaran tatap muka ke pembelajaran daring. Salah satu mata pelajaran yang dilakukan secara daring adalah kimia. Walaupun demikian, pembelajaran tetap dapat berlangsung dengan baik melalui berbagai jenis platform berbasis teknologi informasi (IT) seperti e-learning. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membahas tentang penerapan pelaksanaan pembelajaran kimia secara daring dimasa pandemi, yang meliputi dari platform e-learning yang digunakan, respon terhadap pembelajaran daring kimia dan tantangan yang dihadapi selama pambelajaran kimia secara daring. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur atau penelitian kepustakaan. Sedangkan, sumber data yang digunakan berupa data sekunder yang diperoleh dari berbagai sumber yang relevan seperti jurnal, laporan kegiatan, dan buku. Adapun instrumen penelitian ini adalah daftar check-list klasifikasi bahan penelitian, peta penulisan dan format catatan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa platform pembelajaran yang paling banyak digunakan adalah WhatsApp, Google Classroom dan Zoom Cloud Meetings. Selama pembelajaran, peserta didik memberikan respon antusiasme yang cukup beragam mulai dari yang rendah hingga yang cukup tinggi. Adapun tantangan dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada umumnya adalah jaringan internet, kurangnya kemampuan penguasaan IT, media pembelajaran kurang interaktif. Sehingga pendidik dapat meningkatkan penguasaan IT terutama cara penggunaan platform e-learning dan pembuatan media pembelajaran interaktif.Kata Kunci: Covid-19, E-Learning, Kimia, Studi Literatur

Abstract

Education today demands student-centered learning. With the PowerPoint-iSpring learning media containing prompting questions, it helps students find the concept of a material so that students can play an active role in learning. With the advantages of this learning media, students can learn independently wherever and whenever. PowerPoint-iSpring learning media uses a trigger feature that provides feedback when students answer true/false on the prompting questions that have been provided. This study aims to develop integrated PowerPoint-iSpring learning media Prompting Questions on Compound Nomenclature Material for Class X SMA/MA and determine the level of validity of the developed media. This study uses the Plomp research model to be carried out until prototype 3 (one to one evaluation and expert review). The subjects in the study were chemistry lecturers at FMIPA UNP and SMAN 1 Painan teachers as material expert validators, FT UNP engineering lecturers as media expert validators, and class X and XI students at SMAN 1 Painan for the 2020/2021 academic year. The instruments used in this study were validation questionnaires (for material experts and media experts) and interview sheets. The results of the experimental data processing of the validity test using the Aiken's V formula showed that the PowerPoint-iSpring learning media integrated prompting questions on the compound nomenclature material developed was valid for each item on the content, construct, and media components.

Abstract

Chemistry is a tricky subject because it is abstract and complex so, students have difficulty learning. Understanding it can be explained by three levels of chemical representation, namely macroscopic-, submicroscopic and symbolic. Learning media help teachers convey material quickly and make the material good because it contains exciting features. One of them is PowerPoint-iSpring which has a question feature. Prompting questions involve students more actively because they direct students to form thinking processes. Chemical equilibrium is a complex subject to understand. The study aims to develop an integrated PowerPoint-iSpring instructional media for prompting in class XI SMA/MA and determine the level of validity of the media developed using the Plomp model. The research subjects were SMAN 7 Padang teachers, UNP chemistry lecturers, and UNP IT lecturers as content validators, constructors, and media experts. The object of this research is thelearning media for PowerPoint-iSpring integrated prompting questions. The research instrument was a validation questionnaire and an interview sheet. This research was only carried out until prototype 3 due to time constraints. The results of the analysis of the validity test in stage I obtained the Aiken's V value < 0.8 invalid category in content analysis, constructs, and Aiken’s V value < 0,92 invalid category in media expert assessments so that stage II validation was carried out where all components obtained the results of Aiken's V value > 0.8 valid category in content analysis, construct, and Aiken’s V value > 0,92 valid category in media expert. Kimia merupakan mata pelajaran yang sukar karena bersifat abstrak dan kompleks sehingga siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam belajar. Kimia bisa dipahami dengan tiga level representasi kimia yaitu makroskopik-, submikroskopik dan simbolik. Media pembelajaran membantu guru menyampaikan materi dengan mudah serta membuat materi menjadi bagus karena memuat fitur yang menarik. salah satunya PowerPoint-iSpring yang memiliki fitur pertanyaan. Pertanyaan prompting melibatkan siswa lebih aktif karena mengarahkan siswa agar terbentuk proses berpikir. Kesetimbangan kimia merupakan materi yang sulit dipahami. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran PowerPoint-iSpring terintegrasi prompting pada materi kelas XI SMA/MA dan menentukan tingkat validitas media yang dikembangkan dengan menggunakan model Plomp. Subjek penelitian adalah guru SMAN 7 Padang, dosen kimia UNP, serta dosen IT UNP selaku validator konten, konstruk, dan ahli media. Objek penelitian ini adalah media pembelajaran PowerPoint-iSpring terintegrasi pertanyaan prompting. Abstract

Electrolysis cell material is a chemical material that requires a correct understanding of the concept because it has a fairly high level of abstraction. The abstraction of a material presented can be helped by using media that can display three levels of chemical representation. PowerPoint-iSpring as a learning media can contain text, images, videos, animations and quizzes to help students understand chemistry. This study aims to develop PowerPoint-iSpring learning media on electrolysis cell material for class XII SMA/MA and determine the level of validity of the developed media. This study uses the Plomp research model to be carried out until the prototype stage 3 (one to one evaluation and expert review). The PowerPoint-iSpring learning media was validated by 5 material validators and 3 media expert validators. The research instrument used was a material validity sheet containing content validity and construct validity, as well as a media expert validity sheet. The results of the experimental data processing of the validity test used the Aiken's V formula. The results showed that the validity value of PowerPoint-iSpring learning media on the electrolysis cell material developed was valid for each item on the content, construct, and media components.

Abstract

The material of molecular shape or geometry is chemical material that has abstract properties, resulting in students having difficulty understanding the material. Therefore we need a learning media that is able to help students understand the material and able to display modeling in the form of animations, videos and pictures of molecular shapes clearly. PowerPoint-iSpring ia a learning media that is able to display animations, videos, texts, images and quizzes that can help students understand the concept of learning materials correctly. This research aims to develop a valid PowerPoint-iSpring learning media on the material of molecular shapes in class X SMA. This research uses the Plomp model which was carried out until the prototype III stage (expert review and one to one evaluation). The validation of this learning media was carried out by 5 validators, 3 chemistry lecturers at FMIPA UNP and 2 chemistry teachers. The assessment was carried out on the content, contructs and media of the developed PowerPoint-iSpring learning media. The result of conten validity is 0,87. Construct validity is divided into 2 components, linguistic and presentationd components with average values of 0,83 and 0,86. While the validity of the media on the components of the media efficiency, button function and physical quality are 0,93:0,95 and 0,8. So that the result of the validity of content, constructs and media can be categorized as valid.

Abstract

PowerPoint-iSpring is one of the technology-based media needed in learning. Giving guiding questions is expected so students can find concepts independently through exercises and questions in the media. This study aims to develop PowerPoint-iSpring learning media integrated with prompting questions on stoichiometry class X SMA. The development model used was the Plomp model, which was carried out until the stage of prototype III formation due to time and research staff limitations. Researchers self-evaluate media that has been designed to determine the completeness of the components of a media. Then an assessment was carried out by experts consisting of four chemistry lecturers at FMIPA UNP and two chemistry teachers at SMAN 10 Padang. Three students of SMAN 10 Padang carried out the individual evaluation stage (one-to-one evaluation) with different abilities. The research instruments used were validity questionnaire sheets and interview sheets. The validity questionnaire was analyzed using the Aiken V formula with a category ≥0.79 valid and if <0.79 ​​is invalid. The research results found that the average value of Aiken V PowerPoint-iSpring learning media on stoichiometry material for content validity was 0.88, and construct validity was 0.87. Technical quality validity was 0.93, with each validity being categorized as valid. The results of the one-to-one evaluation obtained from 3 students were good. The suggestion is that it would be better if these media were small so they could be installed on a device without requiring much space. The images that covered the writing explaining the material would be better if the layout was improved.

Abstract

Carbohydrate material is a theoretical chemical that connects every concept to make it seem abstract. It resulted in students needing help understanding the material. Learning media can help students understand the material, which can display animations, pictures, and videos. One learning media that can display this is the PowerPoint-iSpring learning media. This study aimed to determine the validity value of PowerPoint-iSpring learning media on carbohydrates for class XII high school students. This research is educational design research using the Plomp model. The subjects of this study were three chemistry lecturers at the Chemistry Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Padang State University and two high school chemistry teachers, and class XII students at SMAN 7 Padang. The instruments used were teacher interview sheets, student questionnaires, and validity test questionnaires. The type of data is primary data which was analyzed using Aiken's V formula. The results of this study obtained a content validity test of 0.85, construct validity of 0.81, and media validity of 0.81. In conclusion, the learning media developed could be categorized as valid.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an e-assessment using Kahoot! Valid, reliable, also practical in learning the chemistry of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution materials. The research subjects consisted of validators in their fields, subject teachers, and class XI students of SMA Negeri 13 Padang. This development research uses the Borg & Gall development model. The instrument in conducting this study used validation sheets and practicality questionnaires. The average result from the expert validation questionnaire was obtained at 0.91, meaning the product is valid and can be used. Analysis of question items received an average validity and reliability of questions of 0.50 and 0.88, respectively, indicating that the product is valid and reliable. The difficulty level is 20 "moderate" and 5 "easy" questions, the average differentiating power is 0.42 with good categories, and all deception works well. Based on the results of the practicality questionnaire, an average field trial of 89% of student responses and 91% of teacher responses was obtained, which means that the e-assessment tool uses Kahoot! Easy to use by teachers and learners.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of guided discovery learning-based e-modules in improving senior high school students' higher-order thinking skills. It belongs to quasi-experimental research with a nonrandomized control-group pretest-posttest design. Three schools in Padang, Indonesia, were chosen as the samples through a purposive sampling technique, and experimental and control classes in each school were assigned based on the homogeneity of their previous academic score. Research instruments were a higher-order thinking cognitive test using multiple-choice questions and worksheets in the guided discovery learning-based e-module made for salt hydrolysis, electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solutions, and chemical elements. Students' test scores were analyzed using the N-gain test and independent sample t-test. The results show that students' higher-order thinking skills in the experimental classes were significantly higher than in the control classes. Most students could fill in the worksheets in the e-modules whose problems were made according to higher-order thinking skills criteria. Multiple representations integrated with learning materials in the e-modules helped students understand chemistry concepts. The ordered stages of guided discovery learning integrated with complete and interactive multimedia in the e-modules facilitated students to engage in learning, investigating, and evaluating information to conclude; the attempts to train higher-order thinking skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that guided discovery learning-based chemistry e-module can effectively improve senior high school students' higher-order thinking skills.
