Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of Talking Stick model in improving the afective of receiving and responding of the students at environmental pollution and waste material. The design was one-shot case study. The sample was class X1 selected by cluster random sampling. The research data was qualitative form. The qualitative data was obtained from the afective of receiving and responding percentage of the students by using Talking Stick model that was analyzed descriptively. The result showed that using Talking Stick model can improve the afective of receiving of the students with an average of 77.77% with good criteria and responding of the students with an average of 84.71% with good criteria. It was also showed from the increase of all aspects that was observed. Thus it can be concluded that using Talking Stick model in influence in increasing the afective of receiving and responding of the students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Talking Stick terhadap afektif receiving dan responding siswa pada materi Pencemaran Lingkungan dan Limbah. Desain penelitian ini adalah one-shot case study. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas X1 yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Data penelitian ini berupa data kualitatif. Data kualitatif berupa rata-rata persentase afektif receiving dan responding siswa terhadap penggunaan model Talking Stick yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model Talking Stick dapat meningkatkan afektif receiving dengan rata-rata sebesar 77,77% dengan kriteria baik dan responding dengan rata-rata sebesar 84,71% dengan kriteria baik.  Hal ini juga terlihat dari peningkatan untuk semua aspek yang di amati. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model Talking Stick berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan afektif receiving dan responding siswa. Kata kunci : afektif receiving, afektif responding, pencemaran lingkungan dan limbah, talking stick

Abstract

The Biology learning process  in the  eight grade class of Junior High School  IX Bandar Lampung  is dominated by the teacher whose uses lecuring teaching strategis. This situation needs students to note the information fast and  properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using mind map noting technique to improve students' biotechnology concepts mastery and students' learning activities. Students of class IXE and  class IXC was chosen  as sample using  randomize block design sampling technique. The study used pre-post test non equivalent design, and obtained of the quantitative data using   and N-gain score.The qualitative data were aspects of students` learning activities. Quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS 17 software while the qualitative data were analyzed descriptively.The results showed that the effect of mind map noting technique  had not significantly improved the students`s concepts mastery. However the students` activities  increased  as much as  23.06%. Thus, the use of mind map noting techniques can influence students` learning activities and students` mastery of biotechnology concepts. Keywords: mind map, activity, concept, biotechnology.

Abstract

Based on interviews and observation at VIII grade of SMP Negeri 1 Merbau Mataram Lampung Selatan showed that the student’s science prosess skill was low. This study aimed to determine the effect of guide inquiry model in increase student’s science process skill. The design pretest-posttest was non-equivalent. The sample were class VIII B and VIII C whice selected by cluster random sampling. Research data obtained from the pretest, posttest, and observation of student activity sheets. Analysis using the t test and U test using SPSS 16 and using student activity classification. Results of this study indicate that students' science process skills in the experimental class had no significant difference compared to the control class (experimental = 68.46; control= 66.06). Thus the use of guided inquiry model of the material structure and function of tissues in plants affect the students skill acquisition process.Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dan observasi kalas VIII SMPN 1 Merbau Mataram Lampung Selatan diketahui proses pengembangan ketrampilan proses sains masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model inkuiri terbimbing terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa. Desain penelitian ini pretest-postes tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII B dan VIII C yang dipilih dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Data penelitian yang diperoleh dari pretes, postes, dan lemba robservasi aktivitas siswa. Analisis menggunakan uji t dan uji U dengan menggunakan program SPSS 16 serta mengunakan klasifikasi aktivitas siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan proses sains siswa pada kelas eksperimen memiliki perbedaan yang tidak signifikan dibanding kelas kontrol (eksperimen= 68,46; kontrol= 66,06). Dengan demikian penggunaan model inkuiri terbimbing pada materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan pada tumbuhan berpengaruh dalam penguasaan keterampilan proses siswaKata kunci : keterampilan proses sains, model inkuiri, struktur dan fungsi tubuh tumbuhan

Abstract

The result of Interviews and observations at SMP Negeri 5 Natar to class VIII students’ learning result in the subject matter of biology digestive system is still low. So we need variety of teaching materials to improve student learning result, an alternative instructional materials to improve learning result is a leaflet. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of the use of instructional materials leaflet with learning model STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) against the learning result of students in the subject matter of the digestive system. The research design was a pre-test post-test non-equivalent, with random sampling cluster sampling technique. Quantitative data obtained from the average pre-test and post-test data analysis using t-test at 95% confidence level. Qualitative data obtained activity data and the intersting of teaching by materials leaflet.The results showed that there is significant inrease of the students’ learning result in the class that uses the material of instructional leaflet with the average - the average value of N-gain of 46.67. Improved student learning result are also influenced by students' learning activities using cooperative learning model type STAD which increased on average 0.26. Thus the use of teaching materials leaflet with type STAD cooperative learning model significantly affect the improvement of learning result and activities by students on the subject matter of the digestive system

Abstract

This research aims to determine cooperation quality using group discussion method. The research design was simple descriptive. The subjects were students of VIII B and VIII E class randomly selected by cluster random sampling technique. The research data was qualitative data obtained from students cooperation quality. Data analyzed using simple statistic which was descriptive persentage. The results showed that cooperation quality of VIII B class increased with average 62.50% of good criteria, 15.28% of very good criteria, and 11.12% of not good criteria. At class VIII E with average 56.95% of good criteria, 23.62% of very good criteria, and 13.89% of not good criteria. All of cooperation quality indicator at first and second meeting have good criteria. Therefore, the cooperation quality have good criteria in learning with discussion method.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kualitas kerjasama menggunakan metode diskusi kelompok. Desain penelitian ini deskriptif sederhana. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII B dan VIII E dipilih secara acak dengan teknik clusster random sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif berupa kualitas kerjasama siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik sederhana yakni deskriptif persentase. Hasil penelitian kualitas kerjasama mengalami peningkatan pada kelas VIII B dengan rata-rata 62,50 % berkriteria baik, 15,28 % berkriteria sangat baik, dan 11,12 berkriteria kurang baik. Pada kelas VIII E dengan rata-rata sebanyak 56,95% berkriteria baik, 23,62 % berkriteria sangat baik dan 13,89 % kurang baik. Seluruh indikator kualitas kerjasama pada pertemuan pertama dan pertemuan kedua berkriteria baik. Jadi, kualitas kerjasama berkriteria baik pada pembelajaran menggunakan metode diskusi.Kata kunci: kualitas kerjasama, metode diskusi, pertumbuhan dan perkembangan makhluk hidup

Abstract

The purpose of this study was determine the animation  multimedia and learning model TPS effects  to increasing students  mastery. The research design was pretest-posttest non-equivalent groups. The research samples were students of class XI3 and  XI4  science  selected by using  purposive sampling technique. Quantitative data obtained from the average value of pretest and posttest were statistically analyzed using t-test. Qualitative data activity data and questionnaire responses of student learning was obtained. The results showed that the animation  multimedia significantly influence the improvmant  of  students'mastery of the material with average N-gain is 45.26 and the average of all student’s  activitie in which the animation multimedia was higher. So, the use of animation multimedia  with TPS learning model can effective  students' mastery of the material and student’s  activities. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penggunaan animasi multimedia dengan model pembelajaran TPS terhadap peningkatan penguasaan materi siswa. Desain penelitian adalah pretes-postes kelompok non equivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA3dan  XI IPA4  yang dipilih secara purposive sampling.Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretes dan postes yang dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji-t. Data kualitatif  berupa data aktivitas dan angket tanggapan belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan animasi multimedia berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan penguasaan materi siswa, dengan rata-rata N-gain 45,26 dan rata-rata aktivitas siswa yang menggunakan animasi multimedia lebih tinggi. Sehingga, penggunaan animasi multimedia dengan model pembelajaran TPS efektif  dalam meningkatkan penguasaan materi dan aktivitas siswa.Kata kunci: animasi multimedia, model pembelajaran kooperatif  tipe TPS, penguasaan materi, sistem peredaran darah.

Abstract

This study was aim the influence of word square through NHT model to increase the activity and material mastery of students. This study design were pretest-postest non-equivalent group. The samples were VIIC and VIID selected by cluster random sampling. The data were quantitative and qualitative form. Qualitative data were the descriptions of activities and students questionnaire responses. Quantitative data was the average value of test were analyzed  using t-test and U test. The results showed that the activity of working together, giving opinion, giving question, listening discussion, and answering question improved. Material mastery of students was also improve with average N-gain 52,41.  So, the word square through NHT model was given influence in increasing the activity and material mastery of students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh LKS berbantukan word square melalui model NHT terhadap aktivitas dan penguasaan materi siswa. Desain penelitian adalah pretes postes kelompok tak ekuivalen.  Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIC dan VIID yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling.  Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif berupa deskripsi aktivitas dan angket tanggapan siswa. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas bekerjasama, mengajukan pendapat, mengajukan pertanyaan, mendengarkan diskusi dan menjawab pertanyaan mengalami peningkatan. Penguasaan materi siswa juga mengalami peningkatan, dengan rata-rata nilai N-gain sebesar 52,41. Jadi, pembelajaran menggunakan LKS berbantukan word square melalui model NHT dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan penguasaan materi siswa. Kata kunci: aktivitas, LKS berbantukan word square, model NHT, dan penguasaan materi.

Abstract

The result of observation and interview with biology teacher in class X of SMAN 1 Pagar Dewa, were found out the output of students have already lowered. This is caused by teachers that using inappropriate learning model. This research aim to understand of activity progress of study also mastery of concept the student by means of application of model learning process of TAI. This study is experimental kuasi with pretest, posttest design of group non-equivalent. The sample of research are students of class X5 and X6 that were chosen by cluster random sampling. The result of study shown that the student activity in every aspects were observed in the experiment class has already increased. The aspect of question has grade 87,5%, the aspect of answer the question is 90,28%, and the aspect to express of ides is 84,72%. Mastery of the concept also increasing, on the average of grades pretest 45, the grades of posttest is 67 and   N-gain is 0,39. In short, learning process by using model of TAI may increasing the activities of studying and mastery of the concept of student. Key words : TAI, activities of studying and mastery of the concept of student.

Abstract

Cooperation activity of students is required so that the students get more experience. This research aimed to know the effect from the use of the talking stick learning model to the cooperation activity of students in the subject matter of environmental pollution and waste. This research is an experimental study using One - Shot Case Study design. The research data was qualitative form that student cooperation activity data obtained by using the student rubric of cooperative activity and analyzed descriptively. Samples were students in the class X1 of 30 students. At the first meeting the average percentage of student cooperation activity is 52.71% and increased in the second meeting be 67.92%. Based on the results it can be concluded that use of the talking stick model of learning can enhance student cooperation activities.Aktivitas kerjasama siswa diperlukan agar siswa memperoleh pengalaman lebih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran talking stick terhadap aktivitas kerjasama siswa pada materi pokok pencemaran lingkungan dan limbah. Penelitian ini merupakan studi eksperimen dengan desain One – Shot Case Study. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif yaitu data aktivitas kerjasama siswa yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan rubrik aktivitas kerjasama siswa dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 dengan jumlah 30 siswa. Pada pertemuan pertama rata-rata persentase aktivitas kerjasama siswa sebesar 52,71% dan meningkat pada pertemuan kedua menjadi 67,92%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran talking stick dapat meningkatkan aktivitas kerjasama siswa. Kata kunci : aktivitas kerjasama siswa, limbah,  pencemaran lingkungan, talking stick

Abstract

The lower students activites has effect for result learning. The result learning of scientific in 2011/2012 dispointed. Lower activities and learning result of scientific class VII in MTs Al-Furqon Rawi because of the teacher using learning is not exactly in the process. Therepon it’s needed repairing of learning process able to increase activities and students learning result.The point of scearhing describing increase activities and students learning result of scientific with learning cooperative type STAD. This search students action searching. The application learning style cooperative type STAD using leafleat media the class VII MTs Al-Furqon Rawi. Rate percentation students activities ceach cycles are raising in the cycle I 60%, cycle II raising for about 8,8% to 73,8% and cycle III 8,8% to 82,6%, while students learning result look at rates is signitify step up. In cycle I rate for 62,24, cycle II 67,86 and cycle III is 76,11. There fore this searching has success to increase activities and learning result of students.  Aktivitas siswa yang rendah berdampak pada hasil belajar siswa. Hasil belajar IPA siswa pada tahun pelajaran 2011/2012 kurang memuaskan. Rendahnya aktivitas dan hasil belajar IPA pada kelas VII di MTs Al-Furqon Rawi rendah dikarenakan guru menggunakan model pembelajaran yang kurang tepat dalam proses pembelajaran di kelas. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya perbaikan dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar IPA siswa melalui pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tidakan Kelas (PTK). Penerapan model pembelajaran Kooperatif tipe STAD dengan menggunakan bahan ajar leaflet yang dilaksanakan di kelas VII MTs Al-Furqon Rawi. Persentase rata-rata aktivitas siswa pada setiap siklus mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus I sebesar 65,0% siklus II persentase meningkat 8,8% menjadi 73,8% dan pada siklus III persentase meningat 8,8% menjadi 82,6% sedangkan hasil belajar siswa dilihat dari rata-rata mengalami kenaikan yang signifikan, pada siklus I rata-rata hasil belajar siswa 62,24, pada siklus II 67,86 dan pada siklus III sebesar 76,11, dengan demikian penelitian ini telah berhasil untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa.Kata Kunci :  aktivitas, bahan ajar leaflet, hasil belajar, pemebelajaraan tipe STAD
