Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine parents' expectations of children's education in the perspective of economic education in Beroanging Village, West Bangkala District, Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi Province. This study is a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. The informants in this study were parents who had school-age children at the elementary, junior high, high school, and university levels which were determined purposively based on the criteria of parents who had a high level of economic status but low education, parents who had a high level of education, and elderly who have a low level of education and social status. The results of this study indicate that parents' expectations of children's education in the perspective of economic education in Beroanging Village are divided into three, namely the expectations of parents who consider education as an investment are parents who have a low level of education but a high level of economic status, expectations of education as an economic good or consumption are parents who have a low level of education and economic status, and the expectation of education as a consumption good as well as an investment is parents with a high level of education.Keywords: Ekspektasi Orang Tua, Pendidikan Anak, Pendidikan Ekonomi Informal

Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of the times that many tours are found in the Bonto Bahari District area, of course, there needs to be a special strategy carried out as an effort to remain competitive with other existing tours. With the existence of Tanjung Bira Beach tourism, of course, it can have a positive and negative impact on the economy of the people on Tanjung Bira Beach. The purpose of this study is to describe the tourism development strategy in improving the community's economy at Tanjung Bira Beach, describe the impact of tourism development at Tanjung Bira Beach in improving the community's economy, and describe the obstacles faced in developing tourism at Tanjung Bira Beach and the solutions taken. The results of this study indicate that: (1) Tourism development strategies in improving the economy of the surrounding community in the form of adding objects of attraction, developing accessibility, amenity, public facilities, institutions, and the potential that tourism objects already have with facilities and infrastructure that are already owned. (2) The impact of tourism development is income from foreign exchange, additional community income, additional government revenue, opening up jobs, multiplier effects, utilization of facilities by local communities, and no negative impact. (3) The obstacles faced in the development of tourism on Tanjung Bira beach are limited funds, lack of creativity of managers, and lack of cohesiveness or community involvement. The solution is in the form of regular evaluations, and receiving suggestions from visitors regarding development and what needs to be developed again.

Abstract

This research looks at how the independent factors of company capital, social contact, level of education, and land area affect the dependent variable of income of seaweed cultivators either directly or indirectly. The quantitative research methodology was used to conduct explanatory investigations. Seaweed cultivators became the research target group, and 30 respondents from Pabiringa Village in Binamu District, Jeneponto Regency, were selected using a saturated sampling methodology. The data was collected and processed using IBM SPSS 25 using multiple linear regression analysis and hypothesis testing after the respondents filled out the questionnaire. The research findings show that: (1) Working capital has a beneficial and significant effect on the income of seaweed cultivators; (2) Social interaction has a positive and significant effect on the income of seaweed farmers. (3) The level of education has no positive or significant effect on the income of seaweed cultivators. (4) Land area has a positive and significant effect on the income of seaweed farmers. (5) Business capital, social interaction, and level of education are all profitable and have a significant effect on the income of seaweed cultivators.
