Abstract

Abstract The exploration of natural materials to produce concrete has an impact on environmental conditions and global warming that can cause natural disasters. Therefore, the use of concrete materials must be as efficient as possible. One solution to overcome this problem is to reduce the concrete in the tensile area and strengthen the beam using steel reinforcement in the support area. This study aims to determine the effect of tensile reinforcement on the behavior of beams without concrete in the tension area using a spiral system on crack patterns and beam patterns. The method used was an experimental method by making 2(two)specimens, a normal concrete beam (BN) as a control beam, and a spiral concrete beam without reinforcement in the tensile section with the addition of experimental reinforcement at the support section (BTRS 60D) where D is the diameter of the main reinforcement. The beams were designed as normal quality concrete beams with concrete quality of 45.07 MPa at the testing age of 28 days. The beam's dimension was 150 mm x 200 mm x 3100 mm. This study obtained the ultimate load on the BTRS specimen of 35.1 kN. While on the BN specimen, the ultimate load reached 47.65 kN. There was a decrease in BTRS service load by 27.57%. It is observed that the BN specimen experienced flexural cracks. The beam failure of the 2 test objects experienced beam failure that resembled under-reinforced where the reinforcing steel melted before the concrete was crushed. Keywords: spiral reinforcement, failure pattern, crack pattern.

Abstract

Perangkat komputer dalam berbagai bidang pada masa sekarang tidak dapat dihindari lagi dari setiap aktiftas dalam bidang surat menyurat dan lain lain. Terlebih pada dunia kerja, maka sudah searusna pemanfaatan komputer menjadi satu hal yang sangat krusial. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan adalah untuk memberikan pembekalan pengetahuan kepada para pegawai dan perangkat gampong Cot Lampise dalam rangka pemanfaatan teknologi informasi dan pengetahuan dasar tentang aplikasi Microsoft Office dengan sederhana namun tepat guna. Pelatihan ini akan menyajikan pengenalan berbagai fungsi dan cara kerja bagaimana mengoperasikan sistem operasi Windows sebagaimana yang terinstal dalam perangkat komputer yang tersedia dan program aplikasi Microsoft Office Word 2010, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2010 dan Microsoft Office Excel 20010. Software-software ini merupakan program yang paling umum digunakan oleh setiap instansi pemerintah maupun swasta. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat ini adalah metode ceramah penyuluhan dan praktek Pelatihan Pengoperasian Mixrosoft Office dengan dilengkapi alat bantu LCD Proyektor. evaluasi diperoleh hasil dan manfaat dari kegiatan pengabdian ini diantaranya adalah meningkatkan keterampilan dan pengetahuan dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi informasi sebagai pengembangan ilmu yang dapat diterapkan dalam pekerjaan sehari-hari. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berjalan dengan lancar, karena berbagai pendukung terutama partisipasi peserta yang cukup antusias dan berpartisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan lokakarya ini.

Abstract

Pengembangan usaha tani di desa menjadi hal yang penting dilakukan demikian halnya dengan kegiatan pertanian yang ada di Desa buter. Sektor pertanian maupun perkebunan seringkali diarahkan untuk mendorong sektor industri lainnya untuk menyediakan bahan baku. Dengan adanya hubungan antara sektor pertanian dengan sektor industri diharapkan dapat mendukung adanya nilai tambah produk serta terciptanya lapangan pekerjaan yang lebih luas. Pelatihan pengolahan cabai menjadi chili oil dilaksanakan dengan tujuan memberdayakan para petani untuk mengembangkan potensi penjualan cabai menjadi produk yang bernilai jual lebih tinggi. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah metode ceramah penyuluhan dan praktek pelatihan edukasi pengolahan hasil panen raya cabe menta menjadi produk turunan yang bernilai ekonomis terhadap masyarakat Desa Buter di Kecamatan Ketol, Kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Edukasi pembuatan Chili Oil (Minyak Cabai) di mulai dari pembuatan sampel Chili Oil (Minyak Cabai) dengan memerlukan alat dan bahan.

Abstract

The Socialization of Communication, Information, and Education (KIE) for Disaster-Prone Areas in Aceh Barat Regency in 2024 aims to enhance public understanding and preparedness for various natural disasters, such as fires, earthquakes, and tsunamis. This activity is a collaboration between the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Aceh Barat and the Civil Engineering Department lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Teuku Umar. The socialization took place at SMP Negeri 2 Meureubo, with students as the main participants. The program included educational presentations about the risks and mitigation measures for different types of disasters and concluded with an earthquake simulation. The students participated enthusiastically, showing an intense interest in understanding how to protect themselves and respond correctly during a disaster. The earthquake simulation provided participants with the opportunity to practice their ability to react to emergency situations directly. The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in students' awareness and understanding of the importance of disaster preparedness. It is hoped that this program will be continuously implemented in other schools across Aceh Barat to help build a more resilient community in facing future disaster threats.

Abstract

Abstract Road damages is one of the problems that often occurs, especially on road with potholes. This initially small hole can develop into  a large hole if left without rapair because water will seep in and make the road brittle. One way to overcome road damage such as potholes in the road is to add an added material that can increase the strength of the asphalt layer. The additives that can be used are PVC (polyvinyl Chloride) and rice husk ash. According to previous research, the use of PVC and rice husk ash can improve stability and better resistance to high temperatures and keep road construction flexible. The role of the government is very important in overcoming the damage of this road. The purpose of this community dedication is to apply the result of research using PVC and rice husk ash to handle potholes on the road. The handling of potholes was carried out in 5 (five) points, precisely on the Ujung Berasok street, in Lapang village, accompanied by partner from PUPR Aceh Barat. The result of this activety are roads that are no longker potholes and do not endanger road users. It is hoped that the partner can continue road construction using this material on other potholes so that it can produce a suitable mix and have good performance to improve infrastructure development in Aceh Barat.   Keywords: Handling; road hole; PVC, Rice husk ash Abstrak Kerusakan jalan menjadi salah satu masalah yang seringkali terjadi terutama jalan yang berlubang. Lubang yang awalnya kecil ini bisa berkembang menjadi lubang berukuran besar jika dibiarkan tanpa perbaikan karena air akan meresap dan membuat rapuh jalan. Salah satu cara menanggulangi kerusakan jalan seperti lubang pada jalan yaitu dibutuhkan suatu bahan tambah yang dapat meningkatkan kekuatan lapisan aspal. Bahan tambah yang dapat digunakan adalah PVC (polyvinyl chloride) dan abu sekam padi. Menurut riset terdahulu, penggunaan PVC dan abu sekam padi dapat meningkatkan stabilitas dan daya tahan yang lebih baik terhadap suhu tinggi dan konstruksi jalan tetap fleksibel dan lentur. Peran pemerintah sangatlah penting dalam mengatasi kerusakan jalan ini. Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk menerapkan hasil riset menggunakan material PVC dan abu sekam padi untuk menangani lubang pada badan jalan. Penanganan lubang jalan dilakukan sebanyak 5 (lima) buah titik tepatnya berada di jalan Ujung Berasok Desa Lapang yang didampingi oleh mitra dari Dinas PUPR Aceh Barat. Hasil kegiatan ini berupa jalan yang tidak berlubang dan tidak membahayakan pengguna jalan. Diharapkan kelompok mitra dapat terus melanjutkan pembangunan jalan menggunakan material ini pada jalan berlubang yang lain sehingga dapat menghasilkan campuran yang layak dan mempunyai kinerja yang baik untuk meningkatkan infrastruktur pembangunan di Aceh Barat. Kata Kunci: penanganan; lubang jalan; PVC, abu sekam padi

Abstract

Socializing disaster education in schools is crucial to prevent and reducing disaster risk. Not only need to be delivered to formal education and non-formal educational institutions. This is in line with the Regulation of the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency No. 4 of 2012 concerning the Implementation of Disaster Safe Schools/Madrasahs. One of them is education in Dayah Tahfiz Annisa. In Dayah Tahfidz, Annisa consists of students for elementary to high school children. The students in Dayah still do not understand the science of disaster education. The methods used in disaster education learning are ICT, Example Non Example, and Question & Answer. The result is that the students have increased knowledge of disaster response, awareness, and resilience. Socialization about disaster education that is adapted to the content of boarding schools. So far, the students in Dayah still do not understand the science of disaster education. The methods used in disaster education learning are ICT, Example Non-Example, and Q&A. the result is that the students have increased knowledge of disaster response, disaster awareness, and disaster resilience.

Abstract

AbstractMesh convergence in finite element analysis is crucial for ensuring simulation accuracy, especially in vehicle coil springs. However, limited studies have evaluated the balance between accuracy and computational efficiency due to mesh size variations. Stress-strain data is obtained from the strain that occurs when driving by installing a strain gauge on the coil spring. This study analyzes the effect of mesh size on stress distribution, deformation, and computation time in the front coil spring of a minibus using FEMAP NX Nastran software. The results show that smaller mesh sizes yield higher stress and deformation values, with a maximum stress of 817 MPa at a 0.1 mesh size and 733 MPa at a 0.6 mesh size. While improving accuracy, finer mesh sizes significantly increase computation time. Therefore, balancing accuracy and computational efficiency is essential for optimizing coil spring design, with further research recommended to determine the optimal mesh size in finite element simulations.Keywords— Mesh Convergence, Finite Element Analysis, Stress Distribution, Computational Efficiency

Abstract

Abstract:Rigid pavement is a type of road pavement that uses concrete as the primary material, with cement as the binding agent. However, the increasing use of cement in construction raises environmental concerns due to its contribution to carbon dioxide emissions. Geopolymer concrete offers an environmentally friendly alternative by using materials other than cement. This study aims to investigate the effect of adding rice husk ash and coffee grounds as additives on the compressive strength of geopolymer concrete for rigid pavements. This experimental research was conducted in a laboratory, referring to the compressive strength testing method based on SNI 1974:2011 and the mix design based on SNI DT-91-0008-2007. A total of 16 cylindrical specimens were produced with variations in the aggregate-to-binder ratio: 75:25 (normal), 75:25, 70:30, and 65:35. Each variation consisted of two specimens. The activators used were a combination of sodium silicate (Na₂SiO₃) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) with two ratios: 3:1 and 5:2. The results showed that two specimens met the target compressive strength of 19.3 MPa (equivalent to grade K-225), with the highest strength reaching 20.67 MPa at an activator ratio of 5:2. It can be concluded that the addition of rice husk ash and coffee grounds as additives in geopolymer concrete can improve compressive strength, particularly in mixtures with an activator ratio of 5:2, compared to normal geopolymer concrete.Keywords:Coffee grounds; compressive strength ; fly ash; geopolymer concrete; rice husk ashAbstrakRigid pavement adalah jenis perkerasan jalan yang menggunakan beton sebagai bahan utama, dengan semen sebagai bahan pengikat. Beton geopolimer menawarkan alternatif ramah lingkungan dengan menggunakan bahan selain semen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penambahan abu sekam padi dan ampas kopi sebagai bahan tambahan terhadap kuat tekan beton geopolimer untuk perkerasan kaku. Penelitian eksperimental ini dilakukan di laboratorium dengan metode pengujian kuat tekan berdasarkan SNI 1974:2011 dan rancangan campuran berdasarkan SNI DT-91-0008-2007. Sebanyak 16 spesimen silinder dibuat dengan variasi perbandingan agregat terhadap bahan pengikat: 75:25 (normal), 75:25, 70:30, dan 65:35, masing-masing dua spesimen, serta menggunakan aktivator campuran natrium silikat (Na₂SiO₃) dan natrium hidroksida (NaOH) dengan rasio 3:1 dan 5:2. Hasil menunjukkan dua spesimen memenuhi target kuat tekan 19,3 MPa (setara kelas K-225), dengan kuat tekan tertinggi 20,67 MPa pada rasio aktivator 5:2.
