Abstract

This study aimed to determine the difference of students’ learning motivation on CTL learning model and expository learning model. The implementation of CTL and expository learning model was proved to give different effect on the students’ motivation in learning social science subject. This study was quasi-experimental research which did not use a control group. The design of this study was nonequivalent groups pre-test-post-test design. This study was conducted at grade IV SDN 191 Pekanbaru with a total of 45 students. Different learning models significantly influenced the students’ motivation in learning social science. This difference was seen from the average value of the students’ learning motivation in which the average value for expository learning model was 52.72 and the value for CTL model was 79.69. This study also found that the difference value of expository learning model and CTL model towards the students’ motivation was 24.53% while the remaining 74.57% was influenced by other variables.

Abstract

The emergence of the COVID-19 disease worldwide including in Indonesia, the coronavirus is a respiratory disease that attacks humans beginning from the common flu to quite serious illnesses. It causes a huge impact on various fields in Indonesia, especially in the field of education where learning is implemented online consequently. Although it was easy to implement this online learning system, in fact, there are still many students who have difficulty implementing this online learning. The study described in this article is designed to find out what difficulties were experienced by PGSD students during the online learning processes. Type of study used was qualitative research. The data sources of the study were derived from 36 students in the class of the year 2019. The results indicated that the difficulties experienced by PGSD students were derived from a dislike of learning online, playing on social media and not paying attention to the lecturers or friends in explaining the material provided in class, feeling bored in the online learning process, unable to understand the material given by the lecturer, the improvement in learning outcomes but not with full understanding, and network constraints during the online learning processes.

Abstract

Teachers’ creativity in developing contextual and low-cost learning media can be enhanced through the use of readily available recycled materials such as fabric scraps (patchwork). This community service program aimed to strengthen elementary school teachers’ creativity in Singingi District, Kuantan Singingi Regency, by training them to design and produce patchwork-based learning media aligned with the Arts, Culture, and Crafts (SBdP) curriculum. The program was implemented in four stages: needs assessment, planning and instrument development, training implementation, and outcome analysis. Twenty teachers from two elementary schools participated in a short lecture, guided discussion on classroom integration, demonstrations, and hands-on group practice. Knowledge gains were measured through a pre-test and post-test, while creativity was assessed using an observation rubric and product documentation. Descriptive analysis showed improved mastery of the material (from 4.00% to 86.00%) and increased variation in the learning media produced, indicating stronger skills in selecting materials, processing patchwork, and designing safe, functional, and attractive media with clearer plans for classroom implementation.

Abstract

Keterampilan menulis merupakan salah satu kemampuan penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar, namun banyak siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengembangkan ide, menyusun alur, serta menuliskan teks naratif secara runtut dan logis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman (experiential learning) terhadap keterampilan menulis teks naratif siswa kelas V SDN 192 Pekanbaru. Penelitian menggunakan metode pre-eksperimental dengan desain one group pretest–posttest, melibatkan 24 siswa sebagai sampel yang dipilih melalui teknik accidental sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes tertulis berupa pretest dan posttest yang menilai struktur teks naratif. Pembelajaran dilakukan dalam empat pertemuan melalui tahapan pengalaman konkret, refleksi, konseptualisasi, dan eksperimen aktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa, ditandai dengan kenaikan nilai rata-rata dari 62,70 pada pretest menjadi 72,29 pada posttest. Hasil uji Paired Sample T-Test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05, yang berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan model experiential learning terhadap keterampilan menulis siswa. Selain itu, nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,660 menunjukkan bahwa model ini memberikan kontribusi sebesar 66% terhadap peningkatan kemampuan menulis naratif. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman terbukti efektif dalam membantu siswa menulis teks naratif secara lebih runtut, logis, dan bermakna.
