Abstract

YouTube has emerged as one of the most widely used digital platforms in English Language Teaching (ELT), offering a range of benefits for language acquisition, engagement, and content accessibility. This systematic review aims to analyze existing literature on the role of YouTube in ELT, highlighting its effectiveness, challenges, and pedagogy. The review follows a systematic methodology, selecting relevant studies from reputable academic databases. Findings indicate that YouTube enhances language exposure, supports multimodal learning, and fosters autonomous learning. However, content reliability, distraction, and digital literacy must be addressed. This study contributes to a better understanding of YouTube's role in ELT and provides recommendations for its effective integration in the classroom.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of firm size, profitability, solvency, and public accounting firm (KAP) size on audit report lag among food and beverage companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2021–2024 period. The research employs purposive sampling, involving 68 companies with a total of 272 observations, and uses multiple linear regression analysis after passing all classical assumption tests. The findings reveal that profitability measured by Return on Equity (ROE), solvency measured by Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR), and KAP size have a significant effect on audit report lag. Meanwhile, firm size (measured by total assets and total sales), profitability measured by Return on Assets (ROA), and solvency measured by Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) show no significant effect. These results indicate that companies with higher ROE, greater DAR, and those audited by Big Four accounting firms tend to complete their audit process more promptly. The study highlights that both financial performance and auditor characteristics play essential roles in determining audit timeliness. Overall, this research provides valuable insights for management, auditors, investors, and regulators to enhance the efficiency and reliability of financial reporting.

Abstract

The puring plant (Codiaeum variegatum), which has been known as an ornamental plant, apparently has significant therapeutic potential, supported by the presence of secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, tannins, saponins and alkaloids. Various modern studies report the biological activity of croton leaves, including anti-cholesterol, anti-hyperglycemia, antibacterial effects, and their use in biosurfactant formulations. However, studies on how varying extract concentrations influence bioactivity parameters quantitatively are still limited, especially in the context of dose-response relationships involving many biological parameters in one series of research. Therefore, this research was conducted to evaluate eight bioactivity parameters, namely PSM, SSSP, DSSP, SL, RO, SM, PSL, and ANA at croton leaf extract concentrations of 1%, 2%, and 4%. This research uses a laboratory experimental approach by extracting croton leaves through a maceration method using ethanol, then formulated in three concentration levels. Each parameter was analyzed quantitatively to observe the pattern of changes in biological response to variations in the dose administered. The results showed that most of the PSM, SSSP, DSSP, SL, and PSL parameters showed an optimum response at a concentration of 2%, which indicates that there is a most effective dose point before a decrease in activity occurs at the highest concentration. In contrast, several parameters such as RO, SM, and ANA showed a more fluctuating response, even the ANA parameter gave the highest value at a concentration of 4%, indicating that certain activities require higher compound levels to be achieved. In general, the response pattern found was not linear, but instead formed an optimum curve typical of the bioactivity of plant extracts. These findings confirm that determining dosage is very important in the use of croton leaf extract, both for pharmacological purposes and for the formulation of natural ingredient-based products.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve students’ learning outcomes through the implementation of discovery learning method. This study utilized a classroom action research (CAR) model consisting of two cycles. Each cycle was conducted in one meeting, involving several stages, namely the planning stage, the action stage, the observation stage, and the reflection stage. The subjects of this study were 27 students at grade IV SD Ende 12 Kecamatan Ende Utara, Kabupaten Ende, consisting of 15 boys and 12 girls. Data were collected by administering a science learning outcome test in each cycle. In addition, observation sheets were also utilized to measure students’ participation during teaching and learning activities. The results of this study indicated that discovery learning method improved the students’ learning outcomes at grade IV SD Ende 12. This was seen from the improvement of the students’ learning outcomes from cycle I and II. The average science learning outcomes for Types of Soil at the end of cycle I was 65.18 and increased to 88.51 in cycle II.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of social rehabilitation program policies for people with physical disabilities at the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) Social Rehabilitation Bina Laras Pasuruan under the East Java Provincial Social Service. Using George C. Edwards III's policy implementation model, this research analyses four key variables: communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. This qualitative descriptive study employed interviews, observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that the implementation has been running reasonably well, with clear communication channels established between program implementers and beneficiaries. However, several challenges persist, including limited human resources, particularly professional social workers and medical rehabilitation specialists, as well as budget constraints affecting service quality. The disposition of implementers shows a positive attitude toward policy goals, though the bureaucratic structure requires improvement in coordination mechanisms. The study concludes that while the social rehabilitation program has improved the quality of life for persons with disabilities, optimising policy implementation requires addressing resource limitations, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and enhancing community participation in rehabilitation efforts

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to reveal the use of Wanda Pa'u traditional dance to improve students’ learning interests and understandings in learning basic physics in Biology Education Study Programs, Universitas Flores. This research was classroom action research (CAR) consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. Then, the data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the students’ learning interest at pre-action was 52.25% (low category). Then, in the first cycle, it increased to 71.75% (medium category), and in the second cycle, it became 81.5% (high category). The average score of students’ understanding was 45% at pre-action, 65% in cycle I, and 96.4% in cycle II. The conclusion was that the use of Wanda Pa'u as a learning medium increased the students’ learning interests and understandings at Biology Education Study Program Universitas Flores.

Abstract

Based on the observation, the problem found in Class IV at SDK Nangakeo was the low achievement in students’ learning outcomes due to the learning method used being more passive, which caused the learning atmosphere to become unconducive. To solve this problem, the teacher applied the Make a Match learning model. The aim is to find out the improvement of students’ learning outcomes in the science subject with the topic of plant leaf structure and its function at SDK Nangakeo, Ende Regency. The implementation process used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model, which consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and tests. Data analysis techniques used quantitative descriptive analysis. After analyzing, the results of the study showed that in Cycle I, the average score was 58.10 with a completeness percentage of 31.57%, and in Cycle II, the results increased to 84.94 with 100% completeness. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the Make a Match learning model can improve students’ learning outcomes.
