Abstract

Tujuan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah ini untuk meningkatkan karakter kepemimpinan mahasiswa melalui kegiatan character building. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriftif kuantitatif yaitu dengan melakukan pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test dalam bentuk pertanyaan seputar kepemimpinan. Karakter kepemimpinan yang sangat diperlukan pada era milenial sekarang ini adalah karakter yang baik dan ideal dalam memanajemen suatu organisasi, kelompok social maupun sumber daya manusia yang ada. Seorang pemimpin yang baik harus memiliki karakter seperti 1) bertanggung jawab 2) mampu berkolaborasi 3) integritas 4) rendah hati 5) menginspirasi 6) respect terhadap orang lain. Pemimpin dengan karakter kepemimpinan yang baik bisa menjadi kunci mencapai kesuksesan visi dan misi suatu organisasi. Keberhasilan dan kegagalan suatu organisasi ditentukan oleh karakter seorang pemimpin, karena seorang pemimpin merupakan pengendali dan penuntun menuju tujuan yang akan dicapai oleh suatu organisasi maupun institusi.

Abstract

Efficient waste bank management is essential for handling the growing waste volumes in landfills. Waste banks play a crucial role in local and national waste management. This program aims to boost the capacity and productivity of waste bank institutions by supporting the development of human resources in waste recycling management and implementing digital management systems. Program results demonstrate that KSM Bais, Tarakan, our partner waste bank institution, has improved its knowledge and skills in waste bank management. They have expanded their range of recyclable products, including marketable items like plastic flower jewelry, trash bins, stationery organizers, ecobricks, and other aesthetic products. Furthermore, they have created and implemented a website-based waste bank application system to streamline administrative tasks. Additionally, partners have enhanced waste bank marketing performance through website-based and online social media channels.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine students’ learning style in ninth grade at SMPN 9 Tarakan. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The targets of this study were teachers and students of SMPN 9 Tarakan. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and observations.  From the data collected, based on the results of data analysis, it stated that class IX students who were involved in learning process tend to have a visual learning style. Students who had a visual learning style of 57%, auditory percentage of 13%, and kinestics of 30%. So from the results of this study it can be concluded that class XII students who take online learning tend to have a visual learning style.

Abstract

 This study aimed to investigate the significance of effects of mind mapping on student’s writing abilities. This study employed a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consists of two classes selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data was collected using writing tests administered during pretest and posttest to measure students’ writing abilities. The results indicated that the mean difference in the control class is higher than that in the experimental class. This is because the use of mind mapping is most effective when used with actively participating students. In contrast, in this study, students in the experimental class were less active during the learning process. On the other hand, in the control class, students actively played online an online game called Roblox. The Roblox game helped students expand their English vocabulary, which potentially aided their writing. From this study, it can be concluded that mind mapping is still effective in helping students improve their writing skills, although it was not maximized in this context. The results would be more significant if the students were actively engaged in the learning process.

Abstract

Indonesia seems to face the crisis of local language, especially in urbanization. The emergence of English as a lingua franca is undeniable to decrease the existence of vernaculars. The research aims to reveal the reason for urbanization giving the biggest impact on the Indonesian’s local language in South Sulawesi and how to maintain the use of local language is facing extinction in this century. This study applied a descriptive qualitative design by interviewing three subjects. They are lecturers and students. The interview result showed that globalization is one of the plagues that had the impact on vernaculars becoming threatened in this present day, influenced people to obey their vernaculars, and also affected the youths’ psychological order and their perception. It is due to the significant use of international or national language and the less effort from the government in maintaining the vernaculars, particularly in South Sulawesi. One suggestion can be proposed that local content needs to be involved in the Education sector e.g., intensifying vernacular use in school and family, and sustainably promoting cultural heritage to attract the society.

Abstract

Pengelolaan bank sampah yang efektif sangat penting dalam menangani volume sampah yang semakin meningkat di tempat pembuangan akhir.  Bank sampah dapat memainkan peran penting dalam pengelolaan sampah di tingkat lokal dan nasional.  Tujuan program ini adalah untuk dapat meningkatkan kapasitas dan produktivitas pada lembaga bank sampah dengan memberikan pendampingan  peningkatan kapabilitas SDM dalam pengelolaan daur ulang sampah dan sistem digitalisasi manajemen.  Hasil pelaksanakan kegiatan program ini menunjukkan mitra lembaga bank sampah yaitu KSM Bais, Tarakan memiliki peningkatan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan pada pengelolaan bank sampah.  Mitra telah memiliki peningkatan varian produk daur ulang yang memiliki nilai jual seperti produk perhiasan bunga plastik, tempat sampah, tempat alat tulis, ecobrick dan produk estetik lainnya.  Mitra telah memiliki dan menerapkan sistem aplikasi bank sampah berbasis website yang dapat mengefektifkan pengelolaan administrasi bank sampah. Selain itu mitra mengoptimalkan pemasaran berbasis website dan media sosial online yang terbukti dapat meningkatkan kinerja pemasaran bank sampah

Abstract

Based on the observation in the field, there are many problems with the meaning of the foreign word. From 100 students, 25 collage students and 25 teachers that become respondent, the average of them had the same problem about the meaning of the word or foreign vocabulary. This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of using sports dictionary based android system in teaching foreign vocabulary in sport areas. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R & D). The developed media is a sports dictionary with an Android system. The results showed that out of 150 respondents, 93% or 140 people agreed with the application. The application is very helpful for them in finding the meaning of a foreign term in the field of sports. From 150 respondents, 86 said the application was good in the system and appearance, 53 people said the application made searching easier but the display was still lacking, and 11 people said the application was normal and not helpful. The test results of using the application show 85% of respondents are easier to understand and remember the existing vocabulary. The findings of this study are the use of sports dictionary applications based android and combined with appropriate learning methods obtained the results of mastering foreign words in the field of sports can be maximised.
