Abstract

Pain in postoperative Femur Fracture patients must be addressed immediately because it has an impact on the patient's healing process, because it can affect psychological and physiological conditions. Benson relaxation is one of the methods that can reduce pain, this technique is able to reduce the activity of the sympathetic nerves that control pain, causing a feeling of calm and comfort and will affect the decrease in pain intensity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Benson Relaxation on reducing pain intensity in post-femoral fracture surgery patients at Meuraxa Hospital Banda Aceh in 2019. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental pre test and post test one group, the number of samples in this study was 14 respondents. Consecutive sampling sampling technique. The time of this research was carried out on June 04 to July 22, 2019. The data were processed using paired t-test and Independent t-test statistical tests. The results of the study used paired t-test statistical tests. It shows that there is a significant difference in pain intensity before and after Benson Relaxation in postoperative femur fracture patients with p value 0.000 (P < 0.05), and the results of the study using the Independent t-test statistic test showed that there was a significant difference in pain intensity between the experimental group and the experimental group. control group of postoperative Femur Fracture patients with p value 0.010 (P < 0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect on pain intensity after Benson Relaxation in postoperative Femur Fracture patients. It is hoped that patients and nurses can apply the Benson Relaxation Technique after Fracture surgery.

Abstract

Knowledge and attitudes about breast cancer are very important and have a big influence on the treatment and side effects of chemotherapy felt by breast cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes with chemotherapy side effects felt by breast cancer patients in Banda Aceh City in 2021. The method of this study was cross-sectional. Sampling using purposive sampling technique amounted to 43 breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Data collection from 27 April 2021 to 21 May 2021 using a standard questionnaire adopted from BMC Woman's Health in 2019 and the Breast Cancer Module: QLQ-BR23 questionnaire. Data analysis using chi-square. The results showed that the respondent's knowledge was in the moderate category (51.2%), the respondent's attitude was in the positive category (97.3%), and the perceived side effects of chemotherapy were in the mild category (88.4%). From the bivariate results, it was found that there was a relationship between knowledge of p value (P = 0.001) and attitude (P = 0.032) with chemotherapy side effects felt by breast cancer patients. It is hoped that patients with a medical diagnosis of breast cancer can deepen their knowledge about the treatment to be undertaken such as chemotherapy, so that the effectiveness of the treatment runs smoothly and all side effects of treatment can be passed properly.

Abstract

Background: The impact of babies with the Low Birth Weight (LBW) category in the long term can have a risk of experiencing respiratory disorders, infections, and even death. The incidence of LBW can be influenced by gestational age of less than 37 weeks, maternal age of less than 20 years or more than 35 years, pregnancy spacing, maternal occupation, and maternal nutritional knowledge. Purpose:  Describe the nutritional knowledge of mothers who give birth to LBW and non-LBW babies at Tidar Hospital Magelang Methods: This type of research is descriptive with a Cross Sectional research design. The study population was mothers who gave birth in April 2022 at Tidar Hospital, Magelang. The sampling method was carried out using the total sampling technique with a total of 20 respondents. Primary data collection techniques include filling out questionnaires and interviewing respondents directly. Results: The number of mothers who are included in the category of having LBW babies is 3 people (15%) and mothers with the category of Non-LBW Babies are 17 people (85%). The nutritional knowledge of mothers with the category of LBW babies has a good, sufficient, and less score which is evenly distributed, namely 1 respondent each. While those who are Non-LBW have a good score of 13 respondents, a sufficient score of 1 respondent, and a less score of 3 respondents. Conclusion: Mothers who give birth to babies in the non-LBW category have better nutritional knowledge than mothers who give birth to babies in the LBW category.

Abstract

Background: The incidence of cervical cancer in Indonesia has increased to 2 per 1,000 population. Low early detection rates are a major contributing factor to the rise in cervical cancer cases. This low coverage is influenced by low interest among women of childbearing age, related to a lack of knowledge, perceived health, and fear of the VIA test. The leaflet "Let's Get Early Detection and Get the VIA Test" is designed as an educational tool that provides information on the importance of early cervical cancer detection and is expected to increase interest in early screening. Purpose: To determine changes in the interests of women of childbearing age before and after being given health education using the leaflet “Let's Get Early Detection and Get the VIA Test”. Methods: The study used a pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The sample consisted of 40 female respondents of childbearing age (30–50 years old) at the Sukorame Community Health Center in Kediri City, selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a modified questionnaire and tested for validity and reliability. Then, data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test to determine differences in interest before and after health education. Results: There was a significant difference in the interest of women of childbearing age before and after being given health education using the leaflet with a p value = 0.008 (p <0.05). Conclusion:  Health education using the leaflet has shown increased interest in VIA screening among women of childbearing age. These results can serve as a basis for community health centers (Puskesmas) to utilize the leaflet as an educational tool to increase participation in early cervical cancer detection.
