Abstract

Nagari Sulit Air is one of the villages in the administrative area of Solok Regency, West Sumatra province where agriculture plays an important role in the economy of the Nagari Sulit Air community. Geographically, Nagari Sulit Air is located in a highland area with fertile land topography. This is well utilized by the community, by making agriculture the main commodity. The crops generally grown by the community are horticultural crops such as rice, chilies and dragon fruit which are the main agricultural commodities. Even for dragon fruit, Nagari Sulit Air is one of the central areas in Solok Regency. Because the potential is quite promising, there are many chemical fertilizer products circulating in the community. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge of Nagari Sulit Air farmers about the benefits of liquid organic fertilizers and vegetable pesticides and increase farmers' skills in making organic fertilizers. The method used is the Counseling and Training method. Stages in counseling include planning, implementation and evaluation. The target of this activity is the community, especially farmer groups in Nagari Sulit Air. Educational and socialization activities regarding the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizers (POC) and vegetable pesticides can increase the knowledge of farmers in Nagari Sulit Air. And it can also be used as a solution to increase the production and quality of agricultural products in Nagari Sulit Air. The realization of the application of organic farming in Nagari Sulit Air requires support from all relevant stakeholders.

Abstract

Yield monitoring is a precision farming technology that monitors crop yields in real-time. The cutting width is one of the variables gathered by yield monitoring. The cutting width is measured using the sensor by subtracting the width of the header from a distance reading from the sensor to the rice installed on the left and right sides of the mini combine harvester header. This research aims to design a cutting width measurement system using the VL53L1X ToF sensor on a mini combine harvester. The VL53L1X ToF Sensor is used as a distance sensor, followed by an ESP-32 microcontroller and a WiFi module. These are linked to the database and interpreted into digital form using an I 2 C LCD so that the user may see the results afterward. The accuracy of the two sensors (left and right) is evaluated by comparing distance measurement results on an object with an R 2 value of 1. For static testing on rice plants (Oryza sativa L), ten data collecting variations with three repetitions were conducted, with an average R2 of 0.9975 throughout the three repetitions. The dynamic test system includes an Ublox GPS tracker used to read coordinates for variability mapping of cutting width on ArcGIS application using the kriging method. Abstract

Produksi gabah kering giling di Sumatera Barat kerap terkendala pada saat musim penghujan karena dilakukan secara manual dengan memanfaatkan sinar matahari. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi hal ini adalah dengan penerapan teknologi pengeringan yakni alsintan pengering gabah tipe mini silo dryer dengan lengan pengaduk sebagai sumber panas dalam ruang pengering. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan pada bulan Juni hingga September 2023, dengan metode eksperimen. Rancang bangun mini silo dryer dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap, mulai dari pembuatan bak penampung gabah (silo) dan pengaduk pengering gabah. Proses ini akan disempurnakan apabila ternyata dalam hal pengujian teknis alatnya mengalami kendala. Hasil penelitian ini mealhirkan sebuah inovasi baru berupa alat pengering gabah tipe mini silo dryer dengan lengan pengaduk yang berfungsi untuk membalik gabah guna mengoptimalkan proses pengeringan, sekaligus penghantar udara panas kering (hot dry air) yang dihembuskan oleh blower dari ruang pembakaran (dengan prinsip konveksi paksa). Analisis teknis terhadap rancangan awal mini silo dryer sumber panas LPG pada pengeringan gabah ini membutuhkan waktu sebesar 8,5 jam untuk mengeringkan gabah dari kadar air 19,6%; 20,6%; dan 19,9% menjadi 13,9%; 14,1%; dan 13,8% dengan  kapasitas kerja efektif alat sebear 6,897 kg/jam. Pengembangan alat ini masih diperlukan untuk mendapatkan waktu pengeringan yang lebih minimum dan peningkatan kapasitas kerja efektif alat.

Abstract

Stunting is still a nutritional problem in Indonesia. The main risk factor for stunting is CED (Chronic Energy Deficiency). Education about chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women has an important role in efforts to reduce stunting rates. This programme aims to evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs related to Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK) in pregnant women as an effort to reduce stunting rates in Nagari Tulis Air, Solok Regency. The research method used is through questionnaires, observation and anthropometric measurements. Data analysis was carried out using appropriate statistical tests. The research results show that the KEK education program has the potential to increase the knowledge and behavior of pregnant women regarding nutrition, as well as reduce the incidence of KEK and stunting. These findings show the importance of the KEK education program in efforts to prevent stunting in areas with nutritional problems such as Nagari Tulis Air, Solok Regency. Recommendations are given to continue and expand the KEK education program and increase the accessibility of health and nutrition services in the area to reduce stunting rates and improve the welfare of pregnant women and children in the future. Educational activities for pregnant women are carried out using the lecture method. Before being presented with the material, the target is first given a pre-test of 10 questions to measure initial knowledge. Then, educational material is given and a post-test is carried out where the questions are the same as the pre-test which aims to see the increase in knowledge after being given education. Based on the pre and post-test results, it was found that the level of knowledge increased by 17%. A better understanding of nutrition and CED in pregnant women has an impact in shaping the views and behavior of pregnant women as an effective strategy in reducing cases of births of children with stunting conditions.

Abstract

Sistem hidroponik rakit apung merupakan salah satu sistem yang biasa digunakan dalam hidroponik. Sistem ini menggunakan bak penampung dan menggenangkan tanaman dengan campuran air dan nutrisi. Meskipun banyaknya sistem hidroponik menggunakan rakit apung, tetapi masih kurang dalam pengendalian dan pengontrolan, untuk mengembangkan sistem ini dibutuhkan sistem kontrol penambahan nutrisi AB mix otomatis berbasis Internet Of Things (IoT). Penggunaan sistem IoT dalam hidroponik adalah untuk memudahkan dan memanipulasi hasil panen yang memuaskan dan juga memberikan kemudahan dalam penggunaan hidroponik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memudahkan Penambahan sistem kontrol dan membuat petani hidroponik lebih mudah untuk mengontrol serta memonitoring nutrisi Ab mix. Sensor yang digunakan untuk mendeteksi nilai ppm dari campuran air dan nutrisi adalah sensor TDS. Sensor TDS membaca nilai ppm pada sistem hidroponik rakit apung. Pembacaan yang diberikan sensor TDS dikirim ke aplikasi blynk dengan bantuan NODEMCU. Sensor membaca data menggunakan rentang nilai ppm. Rentang nilai yang diberikan dari 600-800 ppm. Jika nilai ppm kurang dari 600 ppm maka nutrisi akan bertambah secara otomatis dengan bantuan pompa peristaltik. Nutrisi bertambah sampai dengan rentang nilai ppm yang telah diperintahkan. Data pengamatan dilakukan sekali tiga hari dari jam 08.00 WIB sampai dengan 18.00 WIB. Pada penelitian ini didapatkan perbandingan signifikan antara penggunaan IoT dalam hidroponik. Penggunaan IoT memberikan kemudahan pada hidroponik dalam memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi apabila nutrisi yang dibutuhkan berkurang.

Abstract

Nutrient is one of the conditions controlled in a plant factory. Nutrient control must be based on the plant growth phase, but previous research has shown shortcomings in this area. This study aims to develop a nutrient control system in a plant factory based on the plant growth phase, specifically using Romaine lettuce. The research method used is the experimental method, with research stages including system design (controller modification, programming, and TDS sensor calibration testing) and system performance testing. The TDS sensor calibration test results showed an R² of 0.9999, indicating that the TDS sensor readings are very close to those of the TDS meter. The system performance test results showed that the developed system works well in controlling nutrient levels based on the growth phase of Romaine lettuce. The planting process lasted 30 days, from October 13, 2023, to November 11, 2023, with a total of 2,697 data points recorded by Antares. Nutrient requirements were adjusted per the growth phase of Romaine lettuce, with set points in the first to fourth weeks being 500 PPM, 600 PPM, 700 PPM, and 800 PPM, respectively. The average nutrient levels recorded in the first week were 518 PPM, 623 PPM in the second week, 721 PPM in the third week, and 820 PPM in the fourth week. The TDS sensor accuracy test results showed an R² of 0.9998, indicating that the TDS sensor performed well in controlling nutrient levels during the system testing, with an average TDS sensor reading error of only 1.17%. During the planting process, the total amount of nutrients added for each of nutrients A and B was 210.10 ml, with the total operating time of the control components being 314.34 seconds for each peristaltic pump of nutrients A and B.

Abstract

Biji-bijian merupakan komoditi yang sangat banyak beredar dipasaran seperti jagung, kacang hijau, kacang tanah, beras, ketan. Pengemasan pada industri biji-bijian skala rumahan masih menggunakan cara manual. Penggunaan timbangan secara manual dengan kontak fisik secara langsung menyebabkan kurang terjaganya kehigienisan dari biji-bijian. Peningkatan produktivitas dalam pengemasan biji-bijian ke konsumen sangat diperlukan dengan teknologi pertanian. Hal ini tentu dapat mempengaruhi efektifitas kerja, dan kurang praktisnya saat  bekerja. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah merancang alat penimbangan berat otomatis untuk biji-bijian dengan Arduino yang dapat di kontrol jumlah keluaran berat biji-bijian dengan keyped 4x4 yang memberikan akurasi lebih tepat dari cara konvensional. Pembuatan prototipe terdiri dari hopper, pintu hopper, timbangan load cell, kotak mikrokontroler yang dibuat berdasarkan konsep desain. Bahan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu biji kacang hijau, biji jagung, biji kedelai. Kadar air biji kacang hijau 12,6% - 12,9%, jagung11,2% - 11,6%, kedelai 9,9% - 10,3%. Dari uji coba yang telah dilakukan menunjukan alat 4 kali lebih cepat dibandingkan penimbangan dengan dengan cara konvensional. Laju grain flow kacang hijau 97,05 gram/detik, jagung 58,58 gram/detik, kedelai 61,39 gram/detik. Pada penimbang berat yang lebih besar memiliki error yang lebih kecil. Alat ini didesain dengan mempertimbangkan kecepatan dan ketelitian, sehingga dapat meningkatkan efisiensi dalam pengemasan. Selain itu, kemampuan adaptabilitasnya memungkinkan penanganan berbagai jenis biji-bijian.

Abstract

The production process of purple sweet potato (PSP) crackers involves several stages, including peeling, washing, boiling, kneading, grinding, cutting, frying, and packaging. This study aims to analyze the energy flow and production costs associated with each stage of processing sweet potatoes into crackers at the Azizah Crackers Production House in Padang City. The types of energy considered in this study included human labor, fuel gas, electricity, and raw materials (PSP, cooking oil, and supporting materials). Results showed that the total input energy for the production of PSP crackers was 784,629.95 kJ with average output energy of PSP crackers 803,880.00 kJ. The energy output of PSP crackers was 1.02 times the energy input. The cutting and frying activity required the largest input energy of 46.18% (362,310.15 kJ), while packaging activity required the smallest energy of 0.38% (2,992.33 kJ). Based on the energy type, raw materials contribute the largest energy, amounted to 85.83% (674,822.86 kJ), and the smallest type of energy was electrical energy, which was 0.74% (5,839.72 kJ). Keywords: Energy consumption. Abstract

Innovation in agricultural mechanization is crucial for the sustainable development of agricultural machinery in Indonesia. This study aims to design and develop a cutting force measurement device for agricultural products. The device consists of a mechanical system utilizing a linear actuator (5.88 mm/s) as a blade pusher and a control system employing a load cell as a force sensor. Testing was conducted using three blade types with cutting angles of 10°, 15°, and 20° on taro, chayote, and papaya. Measurement data were displayed as graphs on an LCD and stored as XLS files on an SD card. The tested materials had moisture content ranging from 85% to 95%. Results showed that taro required the highest cutting force (74.3 N), followed by chayote (39.77 N) and papaya (31.1 N), corresponding to their hardness and moisture content. In contrast, the highest cutting speed was observed in chayote (6.1 mm/s), followed by papaya (5.8 mm/s) and taro (3.5 mm/s) using a 20° blade. These findings confirm that harder materials with lower moisture content require greater cutting force than softer materials with higher moisture content. Keywords: Controller, Cutting force, Load cell, Mechanization, Small-scale.

Abstract

Straw is an organic material that has the potential to be used as a basic material for making compost. Rice straw rich in cellulose and lignin, requires a long composting process. The use of IoT as a compost monitoring system is needed to predict the level of compost maturity to meet standards. The aim of this study is to design a composter that is integrated with the development of a monitoring system to obtain data on temperature, humidity, and pH distribution in real time as reference to determine the maturity of straw compost. The monitoring system used based on an ESP32 which was connected to DHT22 sensors, DS18B20, soil moisture sensor V1.2, and soil pH sensor. Data collected from these sensors was transmitted and visualized through the Antares website. The temperature of the composter reached its peak on the 7th day with a value of 56.7°C. The temperature of the compost material reached its highest peak on the 7th day with a value of 42.75°C. The pH value is in the range of 5.5 – 7.4 from the beginning to the end of composting. C/N ratio of compost is 18.13 and is in accordance with SNI 19-7030-2004. Monitoring was conducted for 35 days, in accordance with the estimated compost maturity. Keywords: Humidity, pH, Sensors, Straw, Temperature.
