Abstract

Safety is one of the minimum criteria that should be met on the toll road operation. Ideally, the level of safety of highway sections can be predicted even if the highway is still on the design stage. This paper aims to develop mathematical models that could be used to predict the number of accidents, by its level of severity, on inter urban toll road sections based on its average daily traffic per lane and section length. Two yearperiod of traffic and accident data were obtained from Jagorawi, Jakarta-Cikampek, Padaleunyi, and Palikanci toll road operators. Models were developed using the negative binomial regression method. The reluts show that the negative binomial regression gives desirable properties in describing the relationshipbetween the accident frequency and the average daily traffic per lane on each toll road section observed. Keywords: toll road safety, accident model, negative binomial regression.

Abstract

The Semarang – Solo toll road at Km 437+200 – 439+400 is one of the unique segments because many double horizontal and vertical alignments are encountered along approximately 1,600 m. Although this segment geometrically can be considered quite good because it provides adequate stopping distance, the accident data from PT. Trans Marga Jateng showed that this segment is prone to accidents. This studyevaluated this segment's slope and slope length and their relationship to the potential for accidents. This segment was divided into three sections based on the slope and two vehicle types: light vehicles (LV) and heavy vehicles (HV). The results showed that the speed of LV was not significantly affected by slope and slope length variations, but this was not the case for HV. This condition results in a significant speed gap with great potential for accidents, especially at 00.00 – 06.00 and 12.00 – 18.00 when the driver is drowsy or fatigued. Therefore, an in-depth evaluation is recommended on the regulations allowing HVs to operate on toll roads, taking into account the weight-to-power ratio (PWR) and the maximum weight of the HV.

Abstract

Application of Markov Chain Model In Road Management in Bangka Barat RegencyABSTRACTRoad pavement performance modeling is needed to get an overview of information about changes in road pavement conditions in the future. This research focuses on the prediction of road pavement conditions using the Markov chain method by multiplying the Transition Probability Matrix (TPM) with the initial condition vector. The main data used in the development of this model are pavement condition data and road handling history data for 2016-2017. Application of the Markov chain model in the road network in West Bangka Regency for a period of five years (2018 - 2022) with the assumption that handling is done for all roads every year according to the type of treatment program (routine maintenance, periodic maintenance, rehabilitation, and reconstruction) based on the percentage limit of road damage conditions. The description of changes in district road network conditions resulting from the application of the model is quite optimal, were at the level of good condition (B) continues to increase. Conversely, the level of severely damaged (RB) condition continues to decline every year. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for road managers in the framework of road network management planning. Keywords : Road pavement performance; Markov chain; Road network management

Abstract

The high level of infrastructure development at present forces old buildings to undergo repairs or even demolition to make way for new buildings that are more suitable and representative. The resulting demolition waste is usually discarded, becoming solid waste. The solution to the above problem is recycling the concrete waste as an alternative aggregate to replace some or all of the natural aggregates in the concrete mixture. Concrete with recycled aggregates is made with several composition variations of replacement to natural coarse aggregates, which is 0%, 25%, 35%, 45%, and 50%. The concrete will be tested for compressive strength at 28 days from the concrete mixture preparation. The research results showed that the highest compressive strength was found in the variation with a 25% replacement of natural coarse aggregates, which was 50.1 MPa, and the optimum compressive strength value is obtained at the variation of 23.51% recycled coarse aggregate substitution. Abstract

One of the intersections that has a significant role in the city of Semarang is the Bergota Intersection. The level of traffic density and crowds at this point of the road is quite significant because it is a route from Jalan Pandanaran and towards the Central Java Regional Police, which passes Jalan Kyai Saleh—a transportation movement system of various types and characteristics of the traffic that occurs. The method used in this study is observation by collecting data as input at PTV Vissim, such as geometric data at intersections, vehicle routes, composition, vehicle volume, vehicle speed, and traffic time cycle using the Traffic Counting method at Bergota Intersections based on analysis of recorded results. The drone video then enumerates the traffic flow by counting the vehicles passing through the survey point. Modeling and simulation results using PTV Vissim in the existing conditions at 11:10-11:20 at the Bergota Intersection using vehicle volume data taken from the field show that the highest speed is 20.27 Km/hour on Jalan Minister Supeno. The lowest speed is 14.59 km/hour on Jalan Kyai Saleh Bergota. Modeling and simulation results using PTV Vissim in the existing conditions at 11.10-11.20 Simpang Bergota using vehicle volume data taken from the field show that the highest delay is 41.19 seconds on Jalan Kyai Saleh Bergota - Jalan Kyai Saleh Veteran. At the same time, the lowest delay is 5.59 seconds on Jalan Dr. Kariadi – Jalan Kyai Saleh Bergota.
