Abstract

Physical environment (in this case is kindergarten) needs to be considered because it has a frequent contact either physically or mentally with children. Based on this issue, kindergarten should provides facilities that appropriate to children’s growth and development process, and also to their characteristic. The purpose of this research was identifying child-friendly environment criterias. The method used was literature comparation about child-friendly criterias in kindergarten. The result showed that child-friendly criterias in kindergarten were three factors: safety, comfort, and stimulation either in exterior element or interior element of kindergarten environment.Keywords: children, kindergarten, exterior, interior

Abstract

Dinoyo ceramic village located on Jl. MT Haryono Dinoyo District of Dinoyo is a center of home industry economic activity, announced by the Government of the tourist village of Malang. Industrial products are produced is in the form of ceramics, with a wide variety of forms such as pottery items for decoration, various souvenirs to household appliances/ kitchen. On the one hand, the potential for the development of economic activities of the people of the industry is still quite large visible from a good level of marketing, not only in the city of Malang, but even out of town or country. But on the other hand, problems arise in the aspect of the promotion strategy that is not supported by quality of showroom with attractive layout concepts. Based on three deficiencies can be identified from the management arrangement ceramics Dinoyo showrooms are associated with: (1) space zoning (2) arrangement of physical elements of space and (3) arrangement of handicrafts, the community service is targeted to structuring concept showroom ceramics. Structuring concept was applied in the field by applying spatial organization in a more effective, and the provision of furniture in accordance with the character of the object to show off.Keywords: showrooms, ceramic

Abstract

Urban streetscape is a reflection of the visual appearance of urban space that represents the character of the City Image as well as an architectural embodiment of the cultural heritage of the city that are essential to be preserved, maintained continuity and sustainability with the architecture civilization of the past, present and future. Due to the rapid growth of trade and service area in kayutangan corridor as one of the conservation streetscape, the strict control of the visual appearance in Kayutangan corridor is indispensable. Building facade is one of the keys to an architectural visual that can be used as a conservation guidance for the visual order of kayutangan corridor. The efforts to control the building facade can be performed by study on aesthetic evaluation. The aesthetic evaluation can be performed in two studies approaches, namely a qualitative and quantitative research methods. This study utilizes a combination of the use of qualitative methods through preferences people method and a quantitative method through Interface Aesthetic Measurement (IAM) software. The utilization of both methods is intended to produce an accurate study of visual evaluation of the building facade and a reference for the development of Interface Aesthetic Measurement (IAM) software in assessing the aesthetic element of building visual in similar cases.Keywords: Aesthetic, Facade, Visual Evaluation, Conservation

Abstract

Area hijau tak hanya memberi manfaat visual saja, tetapi juga manfaat ekologis, edukatif, dan ekonomis.Perkembangan teknologi pertanian kota memunculkan berbagai teknik untuk dapat berkebun di lahan sempit, bahkan di dalam ruangan sekalipun. Dampak ekologis yang kini mulai dirasakan adalah perubahan visual lingkungan permukiman padat di perkotaan yang menjadi lebih hijau.Vertical garden dan hidroponik merupakan beberapa bentuk teknologi pertanian yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai elemen arsitektural, baik untuk kebutuhan lansekap (di luar ruangan) maupun di dalam ruangan. Makalah ini mengkaji pemanfaatan vertical garden dan hidroponik sebagai elemen arsitektural di dalam maupun di luar ruangan. Kajian yang dilakukan secara deskriptif berdasarkan contoh-contoh kasus yang menerapkan keduanya sebagai elemen arsitektural. Hal yang diamati adalah aspek fungsional berkaitan dengan perannya sebagai elemen arsitektural.  Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa keduanya dapat digunakan sebagai pembatas dan pembentuk ruang dengan teknik-teknik sesuai dengan fungsi arsitekturalnya.Kata kunci: vertical garden, hidroponik, elemen arsitektural
