Abstract

The objectives of this research are to design and develop character-based Interactive learning media to facilitate autonomous learning of college students in the course Capita Selecta to develop critical and creative thinking mathematical skills. Research methods and properties of the beginning of the study in the first phase of theoretical studies, mainly carried out in the literature study and consideration of the rational, empirical studies conducted when testing teaching materials and instruments interactive critical and creative thinking skills mathematically. The sample in this research is mathematics education students who take courses capita selecta math 3 group are 110 people. Data are collected to measure the ability to think critically and mathematicallycreative through a written test, while learning autonomy used to measure Questionnaire with Likert scale. The Results of the Research is that a character-based interactive learning media facilitate self-learning in the course Capita Selecta. The ability to think critically and mathematically creative of Students are adjusted at a high level qualifications. The Highest error of mathematic critical thinking made by students are at the focus indicator while the highest error of mathematic creative thinking are at the originality indicator.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis proses berpikir peserta didik menurut de Bono dalam memecahkan masalah matematik ditinjau dari dominasi otak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian berasal dari tiga kelompok yaitu peserta didik berdominasi otak kiri, kanan dan seimbang. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik berdominasi otak kiri memiliki proses berpikir vertikal, berdominasi otak kanan memiliki proses berpikir lateral, dan berdominasi otak seimbang memiliki proses berpikir vertikal juga berpikir lateral. Namun terdapat perbedaan berpikir vertikal antara peserta didik berdominasi otak seimbang dengan yang berdominasi otak kiri, yaitu peserta didik berdominasi otak seimbang dalam memahami masalah dan menyusun rencana penyelesaian melalui membaca holistik dengan pendekatan intuitif, sedangkan peserta didik berdominasi otak kiri melalui membaca fonetik, rasional dan detail. Perbedaan juga terdapat antara berpikir lateral peserta didik berdominasi otak seimbang dengan peserta didik berdominasi otak kanan, yaitu peserta didik berdominasi otak seimbang dalam menyelesaikan masalah dengan cara analitis dan menunjukkan respon verbal, sedangkan peserta didik dominasi otak kanan tidak menunjukkan proses penyelesaian yang analitis (sintetis) dan menunjukkan respon non verbal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning(PBL) dengan strategi metakognitif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan kemandirian belajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan populasi adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X IIS MAN 1 Tasikmalaya dan sampel diambil secara acak,  yaitu kelas X IIS 5 sebagai kelas eksperimen I dengan model PBL dengan strategi metakognitif dan kelas X IIS 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen II dengan model PBL. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan melakukan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis dan penyebaran angket kemandirian belajar dimana instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes dan angket. Berdasarkan hasil pengelolaan, analisis data dan pengujian hipotesis diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: (1) pengaruh model PBL dengan strategi metakognitif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis sama dengan pengaruh model PBL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis, (2) pengaruh model PBL dengan strategi metakognitif terhadap kemandirian belajar sama dengan pengaruh model PBL terhadap kemandirian belajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) proses berpikir menurut level berpikir Van Hiele dan (2) kemampuan spasial berdasarkan level berpikir Van Hiele. Metode penelitian yangdigunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis think aloud method. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah peneliti sendiri dibantu dengan tes level berpikir Van Hiele dan tes kemampuan spasial. Sumber data terdiri dari: (1) tempat yaitu SMAN 1 Tasikmalaya, (2) pelaku yaitu 5 orang peserta didik kelas X yang diperoleh dengan purposive sampling, dan (3) aktivitas yaitu segala kegiatan pada saat pengerjaan instrumen tes dan berlangsungnya wawancara. Teknikanalisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah (1) deskripsi proses berpikir menurut level berpikir Van Hiele yaitu: (a) peserta didik level 0 cenderung mengenal bentuk-bentuk geometri dari karakteristik visual yang tampak, (b) peserta didik level 1 menggunakan sifat dari bangun geometri untuk mendefinisikan secara lisan suatu bangun geometri walupun tidak lengkap, (c) peserta didik level 2 mengetahui dan memahami hubungan antar beberapa bangun geometri dengan benar, (d) peserta didik level 3 mengetahui beberapa hukum matematika seperti teorema walaupun belum paham mengapa sesuatu dijadikanteorema, dan (2) kemampuan spasial berdasarkan level berpikir Van Hiele yaitu: (a) peserta didik level 0 memiliki rotasi dan visualisasi spasial yang belum optimal, (b) peserta didik level 1 memiliki persepsi, rotasi, dan visualisasi spasial, (c) peserta didik level 2 memiliki persepsi dan rotasi spasial, dan (d) peserta didik level 3 memiliki persepsi dan rotasi spasial.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Apakah kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematik peserta didik dengan Model Elicting Activities (MEAs) dapat melampaui ketuntasan ideal; (2) Selfconfidence peserta didik setelah menerima pembelajaran dengan Model Elicting Activities (MEAs); (3) Hubungan self-confidence dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematik peserta didik menggunakan Model Elicting Activities (MEAs); (4) Mendeskripsikan hubungan indikator selfconfidence dengan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematik peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dan korelasional dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif dan angket self-confidence. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu siswakelas VII SMP Negeri 10 Tasikmalaya, sedangkan sampel yang diambil adalah siswa kelas VII H. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji proporsi dan uji independensi dua faktor. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematik peserta didik dengan menggunakan model Elicting Activities (MEAs) melampaui ketuntasan ideal/klasikal; (2) Selfconfidence peserta didik setelah menerima pembelajaran dengan model Elicting Activities (MEAs)berada pada kategori sedang; (3) Terdapat keterkaitan antara self-confidence dengan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematik peserta didik dengan menggunakan model Elicting Activities (MEAs); (4) Keseluruhan indikator pada self-confidence memiliki hubungan dengan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematik peserta didik. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif cenderung dipengaruhi oleh indikator percaya pada kemampuan sendiri, bertindak mandiri dalam mengambil keputusan, memiliki konsep diri yang positif dan berani mengungkapkan pendapat.

Abstract

Certification of teachers that has lasted more than a decade aimed to produce professional teachers, thus impacting significantly to the advancement of education in Indonesia. But the reality in Tasikmalaya, West Java, it is very much different from the expectations. The majority of teachers are even more concerned about the increase of social status than the professional quality as an educator. More recently the government has implemented Teacher Competency Test (UKG), which was held simultaneously throughout Indonesia with the aim to determine the ability of teachers’ pedagogical and professional competencies. The purpose of this study was to determine the mapping of the teachers’ competency by rank, domain competence, academic qualification, age, gender, and see the difference in results UKG based certification status. Outputs resulting from this study were (1) to map the results UKG mathematics of junior high school in Tasikmalaya, (2) to formulate recommendations or proposals regarding the improvement of the UKG (3) to formulate recommendations or proposals of the sustainable planning of professional development for teachers. The method used in this research were studied documentation, interviews and questionnaires open. The mapping of UKG results can be used as consideration in evaluating the program especially in what improvements need to be prioritised. By using the techniques of interviews and open questionnaire, was expected collect information of the effect of UKG for the teachers.

Abstract

Matematika adalah ilmu tentang pola, struktur, dan representasi benda yang tumbuh dan berakar pada kehidupan nyata. Pola, struktur, dan bentuk benda-benda tersebut dapat ditemukan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dan penerapan konsep matematika yang terintegrasi dalam adat budaya yang disebut etnomathematika. Salah satu konsep matematika tersebut terdapat pada ukiran Jepara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif-kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan filosofi seni pahat Jepara, unsur-unsur matematika dalam seni pahat Jepara, dan keterkaitan antara kedua fokus studi tersebut. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian adalah pengrajin ukiran Jepara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Seni ukir Jepara kaya akan filosofi, meliputi nilai, ajaran, dan kepercayaan yang berkaitan dengan agama, akhlak, dan budaya yang melatarbelakangi ukiran Jepara, (2) unsur matematika terintegrasi dalam pola pikir pengrajin dan diterapkan dalam pembuatan ukiran Jepara, termasuk kegiatan matematika yang berkaitan dengan berhitung, mencari lokasi, mengukur, dan merancang, serta konsep matematika yang berkaitan dengan titik, garis, sudut, gradien, geometri datar, lingkaran, bentuk geometris, kekosongan, dan transformasi geometri refleksi. dan rotasi, (3) filosofi dan unsur matematika secara bersama-sama berperan penting dan mendukung keberadaan seni ukir Jepara menjadi seni yang kaya nilai.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the amoeba breeding context and to produce students' learning trajectories in learning rank numbers through a guided inquiry learning model using Google Jamboard. This research method uses Design Research (DR), which includes 3 stages: preliminary design), experimental design, and retrospective analysis. The research begins with a literature review and designing the HLT. The learning design was prepared based on the HLT which was then tested through 2 stages, namely the pilot experiment and teaching experiment. A retrospective analysis was performed at each stage by comparing the initial HLT with the actual learning trajectory. The data collection techniques used were observation, recording of learning activities during experimental design, giving LKPD, giving evaluation questions, and interviews. This research was conducted on students of SMP Negeri 5 Tasikmalaya class IX-B at the pilot experiment and IX-A at the teaching experiment. The results of this study indicate that the role of the Amoeba breeding context can help facilitate students to build basic concepts in finding the concept of exponent number material. In addition, a learning trajectory is produced that can help students understand the concept of rank number material, with the context of Amoeba breeding through guided inquiry using Google Jamboard.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an effective learning design for understanding the concept of exponentiation by applying the Discovery Learning model using the Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) as the framework foundation. The research method used is a design research method consisting of three main stages: preliminary design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis. The initial stage involves literature analysis and the design of an HLT tailored to the concept of exponentiation. The instructional design is based on the prepared HLT and tested through two experimental stages: pilot experiment and teaching experiment. Retrospective analysis is conducted to compare the initial HLT with the Actual Learning Trajectory (ALT) achieved during the learning process. Data is collected through observation to monitor learning activities and environmental conditions, as well as through recordings of learning activities to gain an understanding of student participation in the design experiments. Additionally, Student Worksheets (SW) are used as aids for students to understand the concept of exponentiation, and evaluation questions are used to measure students' learning outcomes in the subject matter. Interviews are also conducted to gain a deeper understanding from the student's perspective. The results of this research make a significant contribution to the development of more effective mathematics learning methods, particularly in understanding the concept of exponentiation, and provide guidance for teachers to design learning that is more relevant to students' daily lives. The implications of the research results provide guidelines for teachers in designing learning that is more relevant to students' daily lives.

Abstract

Jepara's carving is a work of art with a mathematical concept of aesthetic value. Mathematical aesthetics refers to the relationship between mathematics and aesthetic values, namely the beauty of mathematics integrated with the art of Jepara's carving. The qualitative descriptive method is used to describe aesthetics and mathematical concepts in Jepara's carving and the relationship between the two focuses of the study. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews, non-participatory observation, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of two informants: art and culture teachers and Jepara's carving artisans. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consisted of the following stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that: (1) Jepara's carving has aesthetic value, seen from the fulfillment of aesthetic elements, namely: unity, complexity, sincerity, and balance; (2) the process of making Jepara's carving applies the mathematical concept of comparison, which plays an essential role in making Jepara's carving patterns; and (3) there is a collaboration between the application of mathematical concepts and aesthetic theory in creating the term mathematical aesthetics in Jepara's carving which refers to geometric aesthetics, wherein this Jepara's carving motif there is a regularity of patterns dominated by   .
