Abstract

This discussion examines the themes and values ​​contained in classical Malay literary works focusing on several main works such as "Hikayat Hang Tuah", Hikayat Raja Pasai", "Hikayat Abduallah". The purpose of this writing is to identify and analyze main themes, such as heroic love, morality, religion and socio-politics, as well as values ​​that include moral, social, cultural and religious. Analysis is carried out to understand the relationship between themes and values ​​and the historical and cultural context of the time. In this article we will compare the themes and values ​​between the works to find significant similarities and differences. Classical Malay literary works not only function as entertainment, but classical Malay literary works also serve as ethical and moral guidelines that are relevant today. These works reflect the classical Malay community's view of life and provide an important contribution to the moral and cultural identity of the Malay community. This discussion emphasizes the importance of understanding and preserving the heritage of classical Malay literature to create insight into the culture and history of the archipelago.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan deiksis dalam Novel Pergi karya Tere Liye dan untuk mengetahui relevansinya dengan Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMP. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan Teknik Baca dan Teknik Catat. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode agih. Setelah data dianalisis, diperoleh simpulan bahwa dalam novel Pergi karya Tere Liye terdapat deiksis persona pertama tunggal dan jamak, deiksis persona kedua tunggal dan jamak, deiksis persona ketiga tunggal dan jamak. Selin itu, juga terdapat deiksis tempat dan deiksis waktu. Hasil kajian ini dapat berkontribusi untuk pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di SMP kelas VIII, tepatnya KD 3.16.Kata Kunci: novel, deiksis, pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia

Abstract

This article aims to examine the role of picture books in enhancing language skills in early childhood from the perspective of children's literature studies. Picture books are considered an effective medium in supporting children's language development because they combine visual and narrative elements that enrich the child's learning experience. Through picture books, children can not only develop vocabulary but also understand language structure, improve listening and speaking skills, and stimulate their imagination. This indicates that engaging and educational picture books can enhance children's language skills, particularly in word recognition, sentence development, and storytelling abilities. Therefore, picture books are a highly beneficial tool in improving language skills in early childhood and should be considered in early childhood education curricula.

Abstract

Mahasiswa sering menghadapi tantangan dalam menghasilkan karya ilmiah berkualitas yang mencerminkan kemampuan analisis kritis. Permasalahan ini timbul akibat kurangnya pelatihan terstruktur yang mengintegrasikan keterampilan analisis dan penulisan ilmiah. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan analisis mahasiswa melalui pelatihan penulisan karya ilmiah di tingkat universitas. Metode Participatory Action Research (PAR) diterapkan, melibatkan mahasiswa secara aktif dalam setiap tahapan pelatihan, mulai dari identifikasi masalah, perencanaan, implementasi, hingga evaluasi. Kegiatan pelatihan mencakup pemahaman struktur karya ilmiah, teknik analisis data, serta praktik penulisan yang sesuai dengan kaidah akademik. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi aktif mahasiswa dalam proses pelatihan ini meningkatkan pemahaman mereka terhadap metode penulisan ilmiah dan kemampuan analisis kritis. Selain itu, pelatihan ini berhasil menghasilkan draft karya ilmiah dari peserta yang memenuhi standar akademik. Kesimpulannya, pelatihan berbasis metode PAR efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan analisis dan penulisan ilmiah mahasiswa, sekaligus memperkuat pemahaman mereka terhadap pentingnya kontribusi ilmiah dalam dunia akademik

Abstract

This study examines the satirical language style in the lyrics of the song “Gugatan Rakyat Semesta” by the band .Feast using a cognitive semantic approach. This approach is used to reveal the hidden meaning behind the use of words and phrases in the song lyrics as a form of social criticism. The method used is the distribution method which begins with the application of the basic technique of Direct Element Sharing and is continued with advanced techniques in the form of expansion techniques. The results of this study indicate that there are seven words and eight phrases that contain satirical elements. Cognitive semantics is used to help reveal the critical and stylistic cognition of the music group .Feast. The lyrics of the songs studied reflect the cognition of the music group .Feast which is critical and has its own style. The satirical language style used functions as a means of social criticism that is packaged aesthetically and communicatively in musical works.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between cognitive styles, gender, and academic performance among PGMI students, with the aim of enhancing instructional strategies. The purpose is to explore how field-independent and field-dependent cognitive styles, in conjunction with gender, influence students' academic outcomes in the Basic Social Sciences course. Employing an ex post facto research design, the study used stratified random sampling to select undergraduate students, categorized by cognitive style and gender. Cognitive styles were assessed using the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT), while academic performance was measured through students' grades in the course. Descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, including a two-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), were conducted to identify significant differences and interactions between the variables. The results indicate that field-independent students generally outperform their field-dependent peers in independent learning tasks, while gender differences reveal that male students prefer self-directed learning, while female students favor more structured guidance. The study concludes that incorporating differentiated teaching methods that address both cognitive styles and gendered learning preferences is essential for creating an inclusive learning environment that supports all students’ academic success. These findings offer valuable insights for educators in designing more effective and personalized learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the effectiveness of conventional and digital teaching methods in college-level writing instruction through a literature review. Using a descriptive qualitative research design, we analyzed various previous studies discussing both methods. Data were collected from relevant journal articles, books, and research reports. The analysis results indicate that digital methods tend to be more effective in improving writing skills compared to conventional methods. Additionally, students using digital technology reported higher levels of satisfaction and motivation. The study also found that integrating technology into teaching can encourage active participation and creativity among students. These findings suggest integrating digital methods into college writing curricula to optimize learning outcomes and enhance educational quality.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan efektivitas metode pembelajaran konvensional dan digital dalam pengajaran menulis di perguruan tinggi melalui analisis pustaka. Dengan menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, penulis menganalisis berbagai studi sebelumnya yang membahas kedua metode tersebut. Data dikumpulkan dari artikel jurnal, buku, dan laporan penelitian yang relevan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa metode digital cenderung lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan menulis dibandingkan dengan metode konvensional. Selain itu, mahasiswa yang menggunakan teknologi digital melaporkan tingkat kepuasan dan motivasi yang lebih tinggi. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran dapat mendorong partisipasi aktif dan kreativitas mahasiswa. Temuan ini menyarankan integrasi metode digital dalam kurikulum pengajaran menulis di perguruan tinggi untuk mengoptimalkan hasil belajar dan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan.

Abstract

The issue of gender inequality and environmental, such as flooding, has recently become increasingly happened and discussed in the mass media. Both issues are well represented in the animated film Moana. There are many symbols in the animated film that can be related to both ecological theory and feminism. However, by using an ecofeminism approach, the author tries to analyze the symbols and codes that represent the exploitation of marginal parties in the film. From the results of the analysis, it was found that there are many representations related to the exploitation of women and the environment found in the film and this is relevant to the issue of equality and environmental issues today.

Abstract

This article discusses about economic empowerment based on home industry to enforce the faith of new Muslim converters in Desa Selat Akar Kepualaun Meranti, Riau. To understand the economic potential of this village, the faith enforcement seems to be more effective when it is done through economic empowerment based on home industry. This resesearch was founded, i.e. To support this, the empowerment uses community based research concept. This research founded i.e. first, doing an evaluation during observation and conducting identification before the empowerment done. Second, this empowerment finds that this a new Muslim group needs physical capital assistance to develop its enterprises. Third, making ‘Lomek’ fish crackers has become an instrument or media among the Muallafs to keep and improve their faith. Tulisan ini mendiskusikan pemberdayaan ekonomi berbasis home industry untuk penguatan akidah Muslim Muallaf di Desa Selat Akar Kepulauan Meranti, Riau. Memahami potensi ekonomi yang ada di desa tersebut, maka penguatan akidah para Muslim Muallaf tampak menjadi lebih efektif apabila dilakukan dengan penguatan sisi ekonomi rumahan atau berbasis home industry. Untuk mendukung keberhasilan kegiatan, pemberdayaan ini menggunakan konsep Community Based Research (CBR) dengan metode kualitatif. Penelitian ini menemukan beberapa program pemberdayaan antara lain; pertama, melakukan evaluasi pada saat observasi dan identifikasi sebelum pemberdayaan dilakukan. Kedua, menemukan bahwa kelompok Muslim Muallaf memerlukan bantuan modal fisik untuk pengembangan usaha mereka. Ketiga, membuat kerupuk Ikan Lomek benar-benar telah menjadi media sekaligus wadah tempat di mana para Muslim Muallaf dapat meningkatkan dan memperkokoh akidah mereka.

Abstract

Terdapat dua versi bahasa Melayu Riau di Kampar yaitu bahasa Melayu Riau klasik dan bahasa Melayu Riau modern. Penelitan ini menganalisis perbedaan yang merujuk pada aspek kosakata, tata bahasa, dan penggunaan dalam masyarakat. Penelitan dilakukan melalui tinjauan kajian linguistik dengan partisipasi aktif masyarakat Kampar dari yang menggunakan bahasa Melayu klasik hingga modern. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode obesrvasi lapangan, pengumpulan data dan perbandingan data. Hasil penenlitian diharapkan memberikan pemahaman yang komperehensif mengenai evolusi bahasa di Kampar dan dampaknya terhadap identitas dan budaya masyarakat. Penelitian ini penting untuk memahami evolusi bahasa dan menjaga keberlanjutan budaya di era globalisasi.
