Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning to improve critical thinking ability and concept mastery to Arrhenius’ acid base. This research used quasi eksperiment method with pretest – posttest non equivalent control group design. Populatian in this study was all students of SMA N 13 Bandar Lampung. Sample was collected through cluster random sampling, it was obtained XI IPA 1 as eksperiment and XI IPA 6 as control. Effectiveness was evidenced by n-Gain value used t-test, supported by teacher's ability and effect size. The results showed that critical thinking ability and concept mastery of students (n-Gain) had medium criteria, teacher's ability had very high criteria and effect size had large criteria. Based on this result, discovery learning is effective to improve critical thinking ability and concept mastery to Arrhenius’ acid base.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi asam basa Arrhenius. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperiment dengan desain pretest – posttest non equivalent control group. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA N 13 Bandar Lampung. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling, diperoleh kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Keefektivan dibuktikan melalui nilai n-Gain menggunakan uji t serta didukung oleh kemampuan guru dan uji ukuran pengaruh. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep siswa (n-Gain) dengan kriteria sedang, kemampuan guru yang sangat tinggi, dan ukuran pengaruh yang besar. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, model discovery learning efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada materi asam basa Arrhenius.Kata kunci: discovery learning, kemampuan berpikir kritis, penguasaan konsep, asam basa Arrhenius

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effect of socio-scientific issues on improving science process skills.  The method used was quasi-experiment with pretest-postest control group design.  The samples were X MIA 4 as experiment class and X MIA 3 as control class, cluster random sampling technique was used in determining the samples.  The effect of socioscientific issues was analyzed using the difference between two average tests and the effect size test.  The results of the research show that the science process skills of students in the experiment class were higher than in the control class.  The effect size of socio-scientific issues as a "large" category.  In conclusion, socioscientific issues had large and positive effects on improving students’ science process skills on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. Keywords: science process skill, socio-scientific issues, electrolyte, and non-electrolyte solutions.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis isu sosiosaintifik dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi eksperiment dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest control group.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cluster random sampling didapatkan kelas X MIA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X MIA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol.  Pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis isu sosiosaintifik dianalisis menggunakan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata dan uji effect size.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol.  Ukuran pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis isu sosiosaintifik berkategori “besar”.  Kesimpulannya, pembelajaran berbasis isu sosiosaintifik berpengaruh besar dan positif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit.Kata Kunci: keterampilan proses sains, isu sosiosaintifik, larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit.http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jppk.v8.i2.201910

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving to increase student’s elaboration thinking skills on electrolyte non-electrolyte.  The method of the research was quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique.  The population of this research was all students in X class of SMA Negeri 4 Metro whose sit in odd semester of academic year 2013-2014 and the samples were X7 and X2 of science class.  The effectiveness of scientific approach was measured based on the significant difference of n-Gain score between control class and experiment class.  The result of research showed that the average n-Gainscore of student’s elaboration thinking skills for experiment class was 0,66 and 0,51 for control class.  Based on the hypothesis testing, it was known that scientific approach learning was effective to increase student’s elaboration thinking skills on chemical equilibrium material. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir elaborasi siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit non-elektrolit .  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  Sampel dalam penelitian ini dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 4 Metro semester genap Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014 dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X7dan X2.  Efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-Gain kemampuan berpikir elaborasi siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,66 dan 0,51.  Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, diketahui bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model problem solvingefektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir elaborasi siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit non-elektrolit . Kata kunci: kemampuan berpikir elaborasi, larutan elektrolit non-elektrolit, model problem solving

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of guided inquiry to improve chemical literacy ability in electrolyte and non electrolyte solution topic. This research used quasi experiment with Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The sample was obtained by cluster random sampling technique, and it was obtained sample was students of  X MIA 5 as experiment class and X MIA 4 as control class. The effectiveness of guided inquiry was showed by the significant difference for average n-Gain of chemical literacy ability between the experiment and control class. The results showed that students chemical literacy ability were higher  in the experimental calss compared to the control class. Based on the results of the research it can be concluded that effective guided inquiry and has a high effect size to improve the ability of chemical literacy in electrolyte and non electrolyte solution topic.Keywords: guided inquiry, chemical literacy, electrolyte and non electrolyte solutionPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas inkuiri terbimbing untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi kimia siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning to increase students’ fluency thinking ability through redox reactions material.  This research used Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of guided inquiry ¬ ter in improving skills to interpret a statement and give reasons on material reaction rate. The subjects were students of class XI IPA2 SMAN 2 Gadingrejo totaling 34 people. This research uses a pre-experimental method with One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The data of this study is data interpretation skills and provide a statement of reasons, the analysis of data using the N-gain. The results showed N-gain skills menginterperetasi a statement 0.7 (medium) and reaching KKM 79%, while giving reasons 0.5 (medium) and a reach of 77% KKM. Based on the results of the data analysis, that effectively guided inquiry learning by improving the skills to interpret a statement and give reasons IPA2 class XI students on material reaction rate.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui efektivitas inkuiri ter­bimbing dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menginterpretasi suatu pernyataan dan memberikan alasan pada materi laju reaksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA2  SMAN 2 Gadingrejo berjumlah 34 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan One Group Pretest Posttest Design.  Data penelitian ini adalah data keterampilan menginterpretasi suatu pernyataan dan memberikan alasan, analisis data menggunakan N-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan N-gain keterampilan menginterperetasi suatu pernyataan 0,7 (sedang) dan yang mencapai KKM sebesar 79%, sedangkan memberikan alasan  0,5 (sedang) dan yang mencapai KKM sebesar 77%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data tersebut, bahwa pembelajaran dengan inkuiri terbimbing efektif  meningkatkan keterampilan menginterpretasi suatu pernyataan dan memberikan alasan siswa kelas XI IPA2 pada materi laju reaksi.Kata kunci:   inkuiri terbimbing, keterampilan menginterpretasi suatu pernyataan, memberikan alasan, laju reaksi.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of LC 5E learning model in improving communicate skills and mastery of concepts students on the material chemical equilibrium.  The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA in State Senior High School 1 Natar academic year 2012-2013.  Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique.  The sample in this research was first class XI IPA2 as experiment class and class XI IPA3 as control class.  This research used quasi-experimental research design with Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  Effectiveness is measured LC 5E learning model based n-Gain increased significantly between the control class and the experimental class, with using two different test average.  The results showed the average value of n-Gain skills for communicating control and experimental classes respectively 0,54 and 0,74; and the average value of n-Gain mastery of the concept for the control and experimental classes respectively 0,41 and 0,55.  This suggest that the LC 5E learning model effective in improving the skills of communicating and mastery concept of chemical equilibrium students on the material.Kata kunci:  model pembelajaran LC 5E, keterampilan mengkomunikasikan dan penguasaan konsep

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem based learning model to improve student’s flexibility thinking skill on buffer solution topic.  The research method used was quasi experimental with non-equivalenpretest-postest control group design.  The sample of this research were students on one of Senior High School in Tulang Bawang Barat for 2017-2018 academic year in grade XI IPA 1 as a experiment class and XI IPA 2 as a control class that was obtained by using cluster random sampling. The effectiveness of problem based learning model was showed by the significant difference for average n-Gain of flexible thinking skill between the experiment and control class, for experiment class was 0,75 with high categorize and for control class was 0,37 with middle cateogorize. The effectiveness was also supported by data of the teacher’s ability to manage learning with high criteria.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model Problem Based Learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir luwes pada materi larutan penyangga.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan non-equivalen pretest-postest control group design. Abstract

Learning effectiveness is a measure related to the level of success of a learning process. Said effective learning and by contributing to student learning outcomes if the student learning outcomes showed statistically significant differences between the early understanding of the development of understanding after this learning. The research done to describe the effectiveness of LC 3E model in improving grouping skills and concept’ mastery. LC 3E model consists of 3 phases which exploration, explaination, and elaboration. Samples were students of Senior High School State 1 Pekalongan XI Sains 1 and XI Sains 4 class in odd semester of School Year 2012-2013 that have similar characteristics. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  Effectiveness of the LC 3E model was measured by an increase in N-significant gain. The results showed that the mean n-Gain of grouping skill control and experiment classes respectively 0.49 and 0.66, and the mean n-Gain concept’s mastery for grade control experiments respectively 0.53 and 0, 65.  Based on the research results, it was concluded that the learning cycle instructional model 3E effective in improving grouping skills and concept’s mastery.Keywords: Learning Cycle three phase model, grouping skill, and concept’s mstery

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning with animation media to improve concluding skill and concept mastery. The po­pu­lation is the first grade students of SMA Yadika Bandar Lampung on Academic Year 2012-2013. By using pur­po­sive sampling technique, it is obtained that X3 and X5 as the sample class. The research method used is quasi experimental method Non­-equivalent Control Group Design with data analysis n-Gain average and diffe­rent test of two average. The result shows that n-Gain average of concluding skill from control class and experiment class are 0,47 and 0,43 ; and n-Gain ave­rage of concept mastery from control class and experiment class are 0,19 and 0,27. Based on the different test of two average, it is obtained that problem sol­ving learning with animation media is effective to improve concluding skill and concept mastery.Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran problem sol­ving disertai media animasi da­lam meningkat­kan keterampilan menyimpulkan dan penguasaan kon­sep. Popu­lasinya seluruh siswa kelas X  SMA Ya­dika Bandar Lam­pung Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013. Dengan menggunakan teknik pur­po­sive sampling diper­o­leh X3 dan X5 sebagai sam­pel. Pe­nelitian ini meng­­gunakan metode kuasi eks­perimen Non­equivalent Control Group Design dengan analisis data rata-rata n-Gain dan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata. Hasil penelitian menunjuk­kan rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan me­nyim­­pulkan kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperi­men berturut-turut 0,47 dan  0,43; dan rata-rata n-Gain penguasaan konsep untuk kelas kontrol dan kelas eks­perimen berturut-turut 0,19 dan 0,27. Berdasarkan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata, diperoleh pembe­la­jaran problem solving disertai media ani­masi efek­­tif meningkatkan keteram­pilan menyim­pulkan dan penguasaan kon­sep.Kata kunci: keterampilan menyimpulkan, media animasi, model pembelajaran problem solving, penguasaan konsep.
